I've recently noticed that I was lagging while gaming but I was cifues as I have been getting same fps as before. I though maybe the game broke or something but I confirmed that my old tablet that got 44fps had smother gameplay than my honor that got 51fps+

Hi
Anyone experiencing game freezes with the SGS2 ?
I am not really a mobile gamer but I find that the SGS2 seems to freeze while playing fast paced games like racing after a while.
I never have other reboots on normal phone usage freezes touch wood like others have mentioned except in gaming fast paced games.
they are just normal games like irunner, air attack and stuff which are not even HD and one was whacksy taxi
IT will freeze after say 10 mins+ gaming... so any clues or workarounds appreciated
Is anybody experiencing overheating issue? The phone gets really hot playing games and watching videos and stuff.
I guess it has something to do with GPU since I don't experience the problem when I am performing normal tasks, checking emails, browsing websites, etc.
I am just wondering if this is normal. I also notice that some game plays are very choppy. The games like samurai vs zombies or dragon flight runs slow from time to time. Do you think this is linked to the overheating issue?

Really? Have you tried playing games?
I believe it is throttling the core speed to manage heat. When I play 3d games, it runs perfectly smooth until it gets warm, at which point the game runs a little more choppy. I noticed this also when running benchmarks. When thermal throttling, the CPU speed is around 1200GHz, whereas when cool, CPU speed is 1500MHz.
I am noticing phone is hot to touch. But the device is so thin. I think it transfers through device more. I have not seen any excessive temperatures

When I was using the Google Navigation for less than 1 hour, the phone became blistering hot on the screen as well as the back. Hot enough to act as a hand warmer for a few minutes.

The same here. Any heavy activity on GPU will shoot up the temperature of the phone. Is this normal? Maybe because I don't have case around, the phone feels hotter? I am thinking about replacing the phone. Any thoughts?

Funny, that you should ask. It did seem to warm up while playing Angry Birds Star Wars edition, this evening. Performance didn't change and it was just a little warmer, but definitely didn't feel "hot" (even by computer standards).
hi guys when i play Modern combat 4 for a while online sometimes the phone gets hot and laggy there's any rom with better gaming performances ?:silly:
Do you try factory reset?? Also SII is old phone.
Hot is normal Huge performance and no cooling system
Very tempted to get a P9000 but worried the phone overheats when gaming as it has a Mediatek based CPU. My Lenovo K3 Note starts to overheat after just 10 minutes gaming and the FPS in games drops significantly.

What do you understand with overheat? Becoming warm isnt overheating.
I've ran some pretty long and extensive performance benchmarks and done some playing.
The phone does get rather hot when playing for extended periods but has never shut down for me.
(mine is in the Elephone black flip-case (got it with the phone straight from Elephone)) so I suspect that keeps it even warmer.
Hello everyone, the S9 Plus that I bought a few months ago feels like a burning pan when I'm gaming and its temperature can reach 40°C-42°C when I'm just browsing Facebook/Instagram, it's a bit cooler when I'm using a browser however. I'm not quite sure whether my phone overheats or not since I'm living in Southeast Asia where the temperature is high above 30°C in the afternoon. Today when I'm playing a FPS which is not that graphics intensive compared to PUBG mobile for example, its temperature reached 51°C and it's too hot to be touched, it feels like a burning pan. I called Samsung Customer Support regarding this issue and they say it's quite normal for it to be that high, especially when gaming. So, I was wondering, to those who are a Samsung S9 Plus user, do y'all face such issue and is this normal? I don't know whether it's the fact that I'm using data for gaming or whatnots but it doesn't by all means seem normal to me.

50C° celsius for a cpu is normal, mine last summer get hot too when play games.(30° ambiental temerature).
You can feel so hot maybe due to the material(glass) of the phone, have you tryied to use a cover to workaround the issue?
Edit: after i've seen the screenshot i assume you was talking about the battery temperature. My battery now with 10 C° ambiental temperature, in idle work with 34C°, so your temperature is good.
