Have you found anything interesting in Huawei's AppGallery? I've got 80 points from Huawei for purchasing Mate 20 pro (that is equivalent to ~25$) to spend there but I dont see anything worth it.

Hi guys, been really trying to get this one:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...itans&pcampaignid=APPU_1_wzQBVrjdEMGqUY-RsMAJ
My Huawei Ascend Mate 7 it shows is incompatible but a random Obi phone I bought as a back up http://m.gadgets.ndtv.com/obi-python-s452-1846 appears to be compatible.
This is super weird, I've tried side loading with apk and obb, but when I run, I get error authentication process has failed, please check internet connection. :-/
Would really appreciate the help, its a great game BTW, played on iOS, been waiting for it for a while.
Thanks!

Most likely it has to do with the in house Kirin chipset that Huawei has in the phone. No one else but Huawei uses it so some games might not bother supporting it. The Obi uses a Mediatek processor, which can be found in 100s (1000s) of other models.
To HUAWEI Technology Co., Ltd. Mr. Ren Zhengfei, HUAWEI consumer BG CEO Mr. Yu Chengdong's open letterDear Mr. Ren Zhengfei, Mr. Yu Chengdong:
After the launch of the new flagship P10 and P10 plus phones from your mobile terminal series, the market has been warmly received and sold well. Here, I would like to extend my warm congratulations to you and express my sincere appreciation for your persistent belief in your efforts to create the perfect product.
Since the P10 series has been sold, up to now, only as far as I know, there are a lot of negative voices about the products in the European,Japanese and Chinese mainland market. In this regard, as a P10 plus consumers, I expressed serious concern and identified with them.
These different voices I call the "gate" incident. Including but not limited to: "OC (Oleophobic Coating) gate", "flash memory gate", "WIFI gate","memory gate" etc..
OC Gate, the P10 phone's screens don't have a oleophobic layer, which makes the screen feel dry and the screen is prone to a lot of fingerprints and sticky dust.
Flash Gate, the same type of P10 phone uses flash memory components that are significantly different from the speed level.
WIFI Gate, the p10 phones have an unstable connection when use WIFI function.
memory gate,the p10 phones lpddr3 and lpddr4 memory mix
Incident has been erupting for more than a month, although HUAWEI officials during the above incident made some statements, but in my opinion, the statement did not positive respond to the demands of the consumers. That is, there is no clear answer to whether the P10 series has any of these problems (especially flash memory), and a viable solution to the problem.
Huawei's achievements as a company have been remarkable, and it is not easy to develop. As a person concerned with supporting huawei's development and huawei product users, it is not expected that the above incidents will have a negative impact on future development of HUAWEI. To this end, I would like to ask the official HUAWEI to make a positive answer to the following, and give solutions.
1: HUAWEI consumer BG CEO Yu Chengdong said that the latest P10 phones have been sprayed oleophobic layer, pre purchase of the users can go to the HUAWEI experience store for free film or spray oleophobic layer.
For the latter solution, please:
a: Free film has the validity and the number of restrictions?
b: Whether the experience store ready for spraying?
c: Can the early buyers to replace the same type of P10 phones that have been sprayed oleophobic layer?
2: For the use of different speed levels of flash memory of the P10 phones, is there a monetary compensation for that?
3: As soon as possible to release the firmware upgrade package to solve the problem of unstable WIFI connection.
A great company in addition to possess extraordinary innovation ability and the outstanding product, it should have excellent customer relationship processing capabilities, able to face up to the customer reasonable demands and positive response. Again, i would like to ask HUAWEIi officials to give an answer to these questions.

I think Kirin 960 does not support lpddr3 and "memory gate" are so far rumors only. Only the "flash gate" is established.
Regarding the Wifi, i heard its something to with the 5Ghz connection. Also have you tried turning off the "WLAN+" option.
Saw youtube commercial that Huawei's OS will come out on the Mate 30, but if given the option, would you update the Mate 10 to it?
I'm not sure I would anymore. Before, when I was on windows mobile/palm/blackberry os, I liked those OS more than Android. I used them until I couldn't as well, but over time the lack of access to google services and having to find alternatives made using the phone less and less enjoyable. So even if the "hype" over Huawei's OS being "better", I'm not sure I want to switch and put up with the struggle I did with the previous OSes that ended up failing.
I get that in China, this isn't an issue because Google services were never really available to them, but it has for the rest of the world. So would people on XDA switch even if they had to sideload and manually update all their apps each time?
I've had the same experience in the past with windows phones so don't think I'll go down the same road again. Think I'll carry on with android on my Mate 10Pro and see how things develop. I'll probably look to change away from Huawei when I upgrade, which is a shame because I've really liked the camera & battery life.

No, without Google services Huawei would be a dead issue for me, and it's debatable wether Huawei would have access to AOSP either, as some of the core system are still the IP of Google and without them there would be no apps. Having to side load apps (if they would even work) would mean no updates unless you wanted to manually download and install everything when you wanted to update things (no thanks). Unless this stuff gets settled Huawei is without a license to use ARM core designs in their chipsets, no Bluetooth (US company), no Wi-Fi (also a US company), no Microsoft for their laptops, in effect Huawei will have no market for anything outside of China.
Wish I knew how to add a poll but this section of xda doesn't get much traffic now anyhow.
Saw oppo had a 5x zoom like the p 30 pro? Might be using it next but what difference is it? One Chinese company to another Chinese company?
For me, it depends on the OS and the apps it supports. I too came from Symbian, Meego, Windows and BB before using Android and iOS.
With the duopoly these 2 systems have, it's hard for a new OS to get developers to build apps and users won't come in without the apps. A vicious circle that's hard to break. A new OS can break in only when a group of popular companies come together to build and support the platform.
The only Google apps I use are Maps and YouTube. There are alternatives for both and so, it's not a deal-breaker for me.

I don't think its valid now
Recently, some netizens found that the latest version of QQ 8.4.10 has been connected to HMS, which is faster for pushing QQ messages compared to the version without HMS.
There are always several applications that dictate the user's choice of phone and operating system.
According to statistics, there are typically around 40 applications that already cover most of the daily applications that are associated with the country and region. It is no exaggeration to say that these key applications will dictate the user's choice if a situation arises that requires the user to choose between the phone and the application. For example, an iPhone without WeChat installed is believed to be a hard sell in China.
The news of QQ adapting to HMS shows us Tencent's attitude towards HMS ecology. This attitude of Tencent is conducive to the construction of HMS ecology, as well as to Tencent's own development.
When the U.S. first began to suppress Huawei, many companies did not realize the U.S. intentions, and as the U.S. pressed Huawei step by step, Google began to prohibit Huawei from using GMS, and domestic mobile phone-related enterprises began to feel a certain threat. It wasn't until later, when overseas WeChat and Ali also began to meet resistance, that they really felt the threat of the US.
As everyone knows, everyone sees that the U.S. crackdown on Huawei is just the beginning, and the ultimate goal is to target our entire information industry, including, of course, application platforms.
Google cut off Huawei's GMS supply, making Huawei's overseas business extremely shrinking, and as a last resort, Huawei invested heavily in improving its HMS mobile phone ecosystem, in order to replace GMS in extreme cases and ensure the continuity of the mobile phone business. Huawei not only invested heavily, but also introduced a series of policies to encourage localized application development around the world in order to attract developers to the HMS ecosystem. At the same time, Huawei also organized the Songshan Lake Conference and completed the basic HMS ecology in just a few months.
At present, the number of registered developers in the HMS eco-system has reached 1.8 million worldwide, nearly double the 910,000 during last year's developer conference; the number of apps integrated with HMS Core has reached 96,000 worldwide, more than doubling; the number of overseas high-quality apps on Huawei's app marketplace (AppGallery) has increased from 6,000 last year to 73,000, AppGallery Has become the world's Top 3 app store, from January to August this year, a cumulative total of 261 billion times worldwide distribution of applications, helping different countries and regions of fine applications have the opportunity to reach 700 million Huawei users around the world.
In China, HMS is incomplete without WeChat adaptation. During the construction of HMS, many users are worried about BAT's attitude and whether it is willing to enter the HMS ecology.
In fact, to enter the HMS ecology is also conducive to the development of domestic mobile network application companies, can use HMS as their spare tire, this spare tire for the domestic Xiaomi, OPPP, Vivo and other mobile phone manufacturers of greater significance, and the final complete spare tire is the combination of Hong Meng and HMS.
