I have 1000xm2 - no problems whatsoever.
Are you sure you're getting your phones into Bluetooth pairing mode (long press on the power button, till you hear the prompt)
I am having the same issue as @haidar7 . I have reset my Mate 20 Pro twice and tried to pair with my JVC HA-EC20BT headphones 20+ times in different areas around my house. I know its not the headphones as they connect no problem with BB Key2. The only thing I can get my Mate 20 Pro to get to pair to is my Desktop PC. JVC headphones do not register at all on my phone Bluetooth.
If anyone has any solutions, I am certainly open to them.
I was having the same issue, then changed the mame of the phone un BT settings avoiding using spaces.
Give a try.

I ended up selling da phone
I got Note 9. Managed to connect it to my bluetooth deadphone no problem whatsoever.
Started to believe that Huawei has some bluetooth issues with a number of devices.

Nah it's fine with about 4 different pairs of headphones i've used, Bose, Sony, AKG and Panasonic. Note 9 is okay, I have a 512gb version as my backup phone, its just a bit big and the camera isn't as good.

Maybe check the number of "Maximum connected Bluetooth audio devices" under Developer options in Networking part. I also had some issues due to Smartwatches. After changing it to 3, no problems whatsoever.

I don't know of any known issues and never had any problems with multiple brands of headsets, remote speakers and cars. I always try to delete everything from the Bluetooth pairings and then setup your headpiece for new pairing. For the Jawbra type I use, I hold down a button for 15 seconds to clear and pairings then start the scanning process, make sure you are able to be seen and shouldn't have any problems. It's about as easy as pairing to your car, maybe easier and shouldn't take more than 1 min.

Z2 Not detecting headset.
Hi to all.. this is my experience.
I have updated to latest Australian Generic SW,,, when I encounter the same problem... Very weird...
Works intermittent with Monster Inspiration in ear, with remote control, meaning that if I unplug them it will stop working, then plug them back in and no go,,,, uhmmmm..
What worked for me was: Plug them in then if not detected hit power button and hold for 3 secs,, let it go and voila..!!!,,
Problem relates to "Smart Connect", I guess that a sw upgrade will correct this problem as well as low volume problem....
Hope it works for you guys...
Comparability issues with TRRS
I think The problem is comparability issues with TRRS earphones
I discovered my Z2 only responds to the TRS connector, but doesn't respond to TRRS.
I'm trying to use my Samsung earphones on my z2 but the music is playing through the earphones and the phone at the same time, but they work perfectly on any other phone, any suggestions please

Hello all! I had a problem with headphonejack also, tried all the methods i found on the internetz and nothing was helping. I allmost send my phone to a repair center but started digging hedphonejack with a toothpick this morning. And there it was, this large clump of pocketfuzz that came out of it. Tried headphones again and everything worked perfectly. So guys make sure you dont have any garbage on the jack before sending your phone to repaircenter
Thank you so much! Worked for me after trying everything else!

I have the same issue, with a GMC. I have reported it couple of times on different forums and no one has any solutions. I have tried numerous things and no go. I have the exact same symptoms. Connected but no sound. Its a marshmallow issue. we will have to wait 1.5 years for a fix. Back to Aux cable.

I have a Toyota Camry with no issues of connecting with the radio. As soon as I enter the car and press the starter the phone registers on the touch screen.
Mate 10 pro was functioning normally for a couple of months before it suddenly stopped playing audio from that USB cable to headphone dongle. Whenever headphones are connected, the phone still plays audio from the phones speaker system. For some reason the phone does not register the fact that the headphones are connected to it and the headphone icon does not pop up. I've tried factory resetting the phone and cleaning out the port but the problem is still there leading me to believe that this is a software issue.
Anyone else experiencing this or has fixed this?
Hi. I'm also using mate 10 pro and same thing happened to me. It suddenly stopped working. I was given 2 headphones when i bought it but it wont recognize both. I thought it was the jack, so i tried the other headphone and still the same. It's not a port issue because phone works just fine if i connect it to my laptop.
It also started overheating and won't charge when using the original charger but works if I connect the cord to my samsung charger (this is why im sure its not the port). The battery started draining faster as well. It as working great before that. I already uninstalled some apps, run virus scan, optimise, check audio settings, check cords...
This all started happening at the same time and i don't know if anyone else is having the problem.

I had the exact same problem as you have described with my mate 10 pro. I also tried what you already have, but I didn't manage to fix it. The only thing I did not test was to flash another rom, or reflash stock, but at that time I didn't know of any others with the same problem.
I gave up and sent the phone to service where they replaced the motherboard and a flex cable (cable between the motherboard and the USB-port). Im still not sure if this is a hardware or software problem.
In my situation, I always heard a crackling sound before the music stopped, but everything was normal afterwards and this happened about approximately 8 times in a period of 2 weeks, until the last time when the music stopped and the phone experienced som sort of kernel panic and restarted. After that my phone did not recognize headphones, got hot and would not charge.
The thing is that I have experienced this one after the hardware replacement, but it did not restart and kept functioning as normal as before where I just have to start the music again, but I'm afraid that this will happen again after a couple of times.
Did you manage to find a solution?
Solved!
Solved the issue. It's a software issue. I found that when excessively used the device must go into a safe mode and stops the reverse type C from functioning. All I did was put the earphones provided with in and forcibly restarted device by holding power button for more than 10 seconds. Hope this helped!

unfortunately it's not. Today afternoon suddenly stopped. Phone is charging but not detect any headphone, even original usb-c headphone.
Not every problem is the same. Mine was a software issue. Yours may be different
So I have this problem and I have done some testing with 2 phones
Phone 1 - Mate 10 Pro Dual Sim (BLA-L29)
Phone 2 - P9 PLUS (VIE-L09)
Headphones are
Set 1 - standard USB type-c headphones (standard/original with the Mate 10 Pro)
Set 2 - standard 3.5mm jack headphones (standard/original with P9 Plus)
PLUS
usb type-c to 3.5mm jack adapter (accessory that came with Mate 10 Pro)
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Scenario 1
Connect headphones set 1 to Mate 10 Pro
Result: audio from device speakers only, nothing through headset
+
Notification saying "Supplying power to connected device over USB" and after tapping the notification setting screen states "Use USB for" - 5 options available and "Reverse Charging" is selected by default. No options available suggesting use as audio device.
Scenario 2
Connect headphones set 1 to P9 Plus
Result: audio through headphones
Scenario 3
Connect headphones set 2 to adapter to Mate 10 pro
Result: audio through headphones
Scenario 4
Connect headphones set 2 to P9 Plus
Result: audio through headphones
Scenario 5
Connect headphones set 2 to to adapter to P9 Plus
Result: audio through headphones
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
So as it stands, this makes no sense at all.
I think I have tried all the potential combinations and I'm at a loss why headphones set 1 doesn't work on Mate 10 Pro but headphones set 1 works with P9 Plus

I have identical issue as yours. Me too see have seen the Supplying power to connected etc... Have you found the solution? What did you do?
Started happening to me this morning. I've had this phone for one week ffs - and only used the usb-c to jack dongle 3 times
I saw that a lot of people have this issue with the Pixel 2 too, and apparently only since the January security update. Might be interesting to try this out with the december patch and then with the january one?
Edit: Tried the included headphones and they work. Whereas the dongle seems to move a bit in the port, but even if I push on it it's not recognized. Wish I had another USB-C phone to try the adapter with.
I talked to support and the options they gave me are to send back my phone to the nearest repair centre (at my own cost, just for an adapter), or to see with Amazon (where I bought the phone), or to try to get it repaired somewhere close. No way they would send me another adapter, even if it costs them 10 cents to produce I'm sure (ok, 12 cents if there's a DAC inside).
I knew the build quality looked cheap but I didn't expect it to die after 3 uses.
I guess I'll buy a USB-C to USB-A adapter and buy an Audioquest DragonFly too. That way I'll have good sound.

Hi, I've got the same problem as any of them eith a slight variation. I can't connect to my computer. Please give a more detailed instruction. I really need this fix. Same issue
I have the same issue .. Huawei Mate 10 Pro .. original headphone not working ... no fast charge .. and not recognized by the computer .. did you find any fix guys?
I ended up buying a USB-C to micro USB cable (from CableCreation on Amazon) and a SMSL X4 (DAC + Headphone amp) and for 50€ I can now use my headset again, with an even better sound quality and louder. And I can also plug it into my PC.
Got instantly recognized by my phone so no issues there. If you have 50€ and your usb-c/jack adapter doesn't work I highly recommend doing it.
Any solution?

Please guys does any of you have a solution to this problem? After it forced restart yesterday the type C to headphone jack adaptor isn't working and also the super charger that comes with the box, it shows the charging sign but the battery percent isn't going up. I tried using a normal apple charger it works but charges really slowly.
I m on latest firmware Asus Zenfone 8 flip rooted.
Has anyone noticed that if you listen music from Spotify or youtube in background with an adapter and you open a game (not an app, only game) the music quality Will lower extremely? It Is really annoying, fix?

I think it might be the other way around
unfortunately I sold my zf8flip, bugged me too much.
I tried 2 adapters (usb-c to 3,5mm) for this, one is by OnePlus, the other one by uGreen, so rather generic.
Both work fine on my OnePlus 7, my wifes OnePlus 6T and also on Galaxy Tab S3 (though it has its onw 3,5mm...)
The Zenfone 8 Flip stated that both were "unsupported accesoires", so they did not work at all on the ZF8flip.
Maybe your adapter presents itself differently to the device (meaning as a different kind of usb-device) and therefor works, but works strangely .... what brand is hte adapter?

Bought that on Amazon, It Is branded Easyult but i dont think It Is the adapter cause if you listen only Spotify or game app sound normally It will work.. the problem appear as soon as while i'm listening my music i start a game with the music in background and sound become sloppy.. as soon as i stop the game It resume normal quality.. while i use Facebook or other apps different than games It handle the sound in background normally,so i think Is a software thing..i tried disabling the game audio with the volume menu-> output sound and disabling the game audio but did not work.. i noticed that if i listen without the adapter as soon as i open the game music stop for a second then resume..btw this Is the link for my adapter EasyULT Adattatore USB C a Jack... https://www.amazon.it/dp/B0872W912P?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Ill try the adapter with another device.. Just to double check if It does the same on other phones
Ill Just try modifing the USB profile while the adapter Is connected to see if that change things
I Just test another phone Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe and having no issues with the adapter
I got no luck modyfying the USB profile in the settings..
