Mate 10 pro was functioning normally for a couple of months before it suddenly stopped playing audio from that USB cable to headphone dongle. Whenever headphones are connected, the phone still plays audio from the phones speaker system. For some reason the phone does not register the fact that the headphones are connected to it and the headphone icon does not pop up. I've tried factory resetting the phone and cleaning out the port but the problem is still there leading me to believe that this is a software issue.
Anyone else experiencing this or has fixed this?
Hi. I'm also using mate 10 pro and same thing happened to me. It suddenly stopped working. I was given 2 headphones when i bought it but it wont recognize both. I thought it was the jack, so i tried the other headphone and still the same. It's not a port issue because phone works just fine if i connect it to my laptop.
It also started overheating and won't charge when using the original charger but works if I connect the cord to my samsung charger (this is why im sure its not the port). The battery started draining faster as well. It as working great before that. I already uninstalled some apps, run virus scan, optimise, check audio settings, check cords...
This all started happening at the same time and i don't know if anyone else is having the problem.

I had the exact same problem as you have described with my mate 10 pro. I also tried what you already have, but I didn't manage to fix it. The only thing I did not test was to flash another rom, or reflash stock, but at that time I didn't know of any others with the same problem.
I gave up and sent the phone to service where they replaced the motherboard and a flex cable (cable between the motherboard and the USB-port). Im still not sure if this is a hardware or software problem.
In my situation, I always heard a crackling sound before the music stopped, but everything was normal afterwards and this happened about approximately 8 times in a period of 2 weeks, until the last time when the music stopped and the phone experienced som sort of kernel panic and restarted. After that my phone did not recognize headphones, got hot and would not charge.
The thing is that I have experienced this one after the hardware replacement, but it did not restart and kept functioning as normal as before where I just have to start the music again, but I'm afraid that this will happen again after a couple of times.
Did you manage to find a solution?
Solved!
Solved the issue. It's a software issue. I found that when excessively used the device must go into a safe mode and stops the reverse type C from functioning. All I did was put the earphones provided with in and forcibly restarted device by holding power button for more than 10 seconds. Hope this helped!

unfortunately it's not. Today afternoon suddenly stopped. Phone is charging but not detect any headphone, even original usb-c headphone.
Not every problem is the same. Mine was a software issue. Yours may be different
So I have this problem and I have done some testing with 2 phones
Phone 1 - Mate 10 Pro Dual Sim (BLA-L29)
Phone 2 - P9 PLUS (VIE-L09)
Headphones are
Set 1 - standard USB type-c headphones (standard/original with the Mate 10 Pro)
Set 2 - standard 3.5mm jack headphones (standard/original with P9 Plus)
PLUS
usb type-c to 3.5mm jack adapter (accessory that came with Mate 10 Pro)
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Scenario 1
Connect headphones set 1 to Mate 10 Pro
Result: audio from device speakers only, nothing through headset
+
Notification saying "Supplying power to connected device over USB" and after tapping the notification setting screen states "Use USB for" - 5 options available and "Reverse Charging" is selected by default. No options available suggesting use as audio device.
Scenario 2
Connect headphones set 1 to P9 Plus
Result: audio through headphones
Scenario 3
Connect headphones set 2 to adapter to Mate 10 pro
Result: audio through headphones
Scenario 4
Connect headphones set 2 to P9 Plus
Result: audio through headphones
Scenario 5
Connect headphones set 2 to to adapter to P9 Plus
Result: audio through headphones
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
So as it stands, this makes no sense at all.
I think I have tried all the potential combinations and I'm at a loss why headphones set 1 doesn't work on Mate 10 Pro but headphones set 1 works with P9 Plus

I have identical issue as yours. Me too see have seen the Supplying power to connected etc... Have you found the solution? What did you do?
Started happening to me this morning. I've had this phone for one week ffs - and only used the usb-c to jack dongle 3 times
I saw that a lot of people have this issue with the Pixel 2 too, and apparently only since the January security update. Might be interesting to try this out with the december patch and then with the january one?
Edit: Tried the included headphones and they work. Whereas the dongle seems to move a bit in the port, but even if I push on it it's not recognized. Wish I had another USB-C phone to try the adapter with.
I talked to support and the options they gave me are to send back my phone to the nearest repair centre (at my own cost, just for an adapter), or to see with Amazon (where I bought the phone), or to try to get it repaired somewhere close. No way they would send me another adapter, even if it costs them 10 cents to produce I'm sure (ok, 12 cents if there's a DAC inside).
I knew the build quality looked cheap but I didn't expect it to die after 3 uses.
I guess I'll buy a USB-C to USB-A adapter and buy an Audioquest DragonFly too. That way I'll have good sound.
Yes, just same as urs. I have done factory reset but same story.

Hi, I've got the same problem as any of them eith a slight variation. I can't connect to my computer. Please give a more detailed instruction. I really need this fix. I don't know if I will send my phone to service or to wait for the next update. Please. We need every help we can get. Thankyou in advance
Same issue
I have the same issue .. Huawei Mate 10 Pro .. original headphone not working ... no fast charge .. and not recognized by the computer .. did you find any fix guys?
I ended up buying a USB-C to micro USB cable (from CableCreation on Amazon) and a SMSL X4 (DAC + Headphone amp) and for 50€ I can now use my headset again, with an even better sound quality and louder. And I can also plug it into my PC.
Got instantly recognized by my phone so no issues there. If you have 50€ and your usb-c/jack adapter doesn't work I highly recommend doing it.
Any solution?

I've got the same problem. Went to a HUAWEI Service Center today and they told me they've seen this before and need to replace the board containing the speaker, MIC and USB connector. Waiting for the parts to arrive now...
Same thing happened to me, but my original charger still works and still fast charges. I tried to use original earphones and a few different types of USB earphones but none of them are being recognised??? Sending my phone off to be looked at tomorrow, let you know how it goes.

Please guys does any of you have a solution to this problem? After it forced restart yesterday the type C to headphone jack adaptor isn't working and also the super charger that comes with the box, it shows the charging sign but the battery percent isn't going up. I tried using a normal apple charger it works but charges really slowly.

hello all,
I have a sprint touch pro, and i use the HTC adapter that came in the box.
just recently I tried plugging in the charger while i was using the 3.5mm jack on the adapter and what endded up happening was that the audio out got disconnected (the physical cable was still in place, but the phone thought that the headphones were disconnected)
this has never happened before, I've been able to use the audio out(3.5mm) jack and have been able to charge simultaniously.
I just installed .977 radio app and the pandora app.
I also tried this with the htc headphones and the htc charger on the adapter and the same thing... no luck. the phone cannot charge and perform audio out at the same time anymore. i have tried multiple adapters butt no luck. Please help!
How can I fix this? any of you having this problem?
there has to be a registry string to fix this issue.
thanks in advance!
I'm having the same issue but i'm using a BT Motorola headphone. Even though the phone is plugged in to the wall jack. The battery drains to 0 and then shuts off. Not at all sure what's happening either.
wow, thats not good.
has this been happening since day one or did it just started doing that?
Also, do you have the pandora and/or .977 radio app installed?
Well, I just bought the new bluetooth headphones and tried listening to the streamed radio while still having it plugged in, so this is new behavior to me.
When all the juice has been consumed from the battery, It doesn't charge at all. It just shows plug a charger animation and phone's red led blinks. Otherwise it charges normally like with a basic battery module.
Other problem is that OTG does not work... I tested with two different phones but they don't react at all when I attach otg cable.
Third problem is that when using it with my computer it usually lengthens my bios post time and shutdown times plus I have to attach the freaking thing again after restart or it doesn't recognize B&O DAC
Does anyone have any tips on how to get some of those problems fixed?
Edit: Even with all these problems I'm amazed how clear everything sounds even with my super cheap headphones. It even beats my mackie 1640i mixer with better clarity and more defined crosstalk.
Sorry, no solution for the problems but I can confirm, that OTG don't work with the HiFi DAC.
Regards
mkpcxxl
Oh Well isn't it false marketing then?
Is there any solution for the LOS based ROMS restarting my device when I disconnect my headphones

It might be because of the OTG cable that came with it, I tested hifi plus on my PC with the cable that came with it and it won't recognize it :/ LG quality control and driver support is like the world most retarded..
Does someone have any solutions or tricks how I could get my PC to recognize hifi plus even without re-attaching it after reboot
EDIT: I got it to recognize it after reboot by setting every usb power saving feature off. But now I'm faced with new problem.
There isn't any audio coming to speakers even when it's recognized and audio meter is jumping.
I copied this from audio device log.

It will be a hardware issue.
The switch on the headphone socket that detects the presence of the plug is either faulty, stuck, or clogged with debris.
You could try plugging and unplugging repeatedly to see if that fixes it.
If it needs replacing you could most likely get one from Aliexpress and follow a YouTube clip that will show you how to replace it.

I faced same problem. I come up with 3 Solutions.
1. Try plugging and unplugging headphones /earphones until headphone icon removed. Play and song and try it.
2. Stay headphones /earphones plug in and use it. It automatically fixes sometimes
3. This one will definitely fixes if first two fails. Use Audio Router app from playstore. Disable your Audio Jack and Eureka speakers will work.

Thanks a lot you guys ....I'm pretty sure it's a hard were bug now ...I've switched through 3 roms now including a gsi ....now I'm using the app advised here ....I really appreciate your help ?

I have 1000xm2 - no problems whatsoever.
Are you sure you're getting your phones into Bluetooth pairing mode (long press on the power button, till you hear the prompt)
I am having the same issue as @haidar7 . I have reset my Mate 20 Pro twice and tried to pair with my JVC HA-EC20BT headphones 20+ times in different areas around my house. I know its not the headphones as they connect no problem with BB Key2. The only thing I can get my Mate 20 Pro to get to pair to is my Desktop PC. JVC headphones do not register at all on my phone Bluetooth.
If anyone has any solutions, I am certainly open to them.
I was having the same issue, then changed the mame of the phone un BT settings avoiding using spaces.
Give a try.

Nah it's fine with about 4 different pairs of headphones i've used, Bose, Sony, AKG and Panasonic. Note 9 is okay, I have a 512gb version as my backup phone, its just a bit big and the camera isn't as good.

I was never able to connect my Bose QuietComfort 35 to my Huawei Matex 20 X, until I installed and ran the Bose Connect app.
I have a problem with my package included headphone or my phone or both I don't know.
I wonder anyone got this weird bug or hardware problem.
This is the problem step by step:
I plug usb type c package included headphone.
I see small headphone icon upper side of the screen.
I open a music app -for example youtube-
I play anything video is shown and auto playing stops the video or music. Phone acts like headphone unplugged but its plugged anyway.
Small headphone icon doesnt show anymore but its plugged to usb port.
I touch the play button again and music comes out from phone's speakers.
I unplug and plug headphone again to usb port and music comes from headphone and little icons shows up on screen.
So this is the problem that I have. I need to talk about some experiment notes I have had.
I have never had this bug or problem with usb type c to 3.5 mm headphone jack converter. And also having same problem with making some calls or any kind of sound output situations with type c headphone. And the interesting part is I tried to record a screen video about this problem guess what... No bugs or problems when recording but its again shows up when I stopped the recording video.
Tell me something about this bug or problem. Anyone have this problem with phone. Thanks a lot already for your comments and suggestions and answers
I bought my Mate 20 mid April and I faced exactly the same issue with headphone. No matter I use the original one USB-C or USB-C to jack. I did not find any solution and returned the phone back to the vendor.

I've had similar problems with my headphones, maybe not exactly. But hey, give it a try. Definitely worked for me. I say headphones because I had the issue with both the packaged headset as the Huawei ANC ones I bought later. Problem was an accumulation of rubble in the USB-C socket of the phone. And it got worse over time. Took a very thin item and gently cleaned the socket. Cleared all issues instantly. Substantial filth in the port. To check for rubble in the portt take a magnifying glass and enough light to check. Hope it helps. I thought after it got really worse and the cable would not even stay in the socket, I had to send phone to Huawei for repair but as a last resort I cleaned the USB-C port and now no more issues. Do be careful though.
I've not even taken those out of the wrapper since getting my m20p in December. Using Bluetooth without any issues on assorted headsets.

Same problem here, but only with the earbuds that came with the phone. If I use the adapter (which also came with the phone) with my old headphone, there are no problems at all.
no one has solved the problem of the original earphones that are not heard on the phone? I brought the phone for assistance with this problem and they replaced my motherboard. today I picked up the phone and the problem is still there. ridiculous. for you the problem is only with the original earphones or even with others of the type c?
