Hivision - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Questions & Answers

Hey. I've got a Canadian mate 20pro from Rogers and I can't seem to use hivision. The Instructions say to hold two fingers down in a web page to activate, however when I do, I get the following message:
"Install HiVision to access this service"
I'm also supposed to be able to search for items using HiVision with the camera, but it's not working
Anyone know how to do that

Hi-Vision isn't included in the firmware for phones outside of China right now. They haven't said a peep about it, either. I also haven't seen any way to side load it, from perusing many reddit threads where people are asking the same question. It is probably for the best anyway, you are already fat.

Thanks. With all due respect, I'll choose what's best for me if it comes down to a choice between me and you.
I've heard UK users have this feature so China only input from you most likely inaccurate.

Duplicate post

i can confirm the APAC model C636 also has HiVision...... so China only is truly inaccurate

Hi guys,
I tried www.unlockitnow.com.
They couldn't find me the code, so they sent me an unlock sim (to put toghether with my sim).
It doesn't work either.
I saw an ebay listing from UnlockLiberty, I went to their website and they say they can't unlock it at this moment...

As this Tab is locked up tighter than.......... well your best bet is probably pay the fee or whatever to AT&T? We can not root, we have locked bootloader and probably locked sim. That is the only way i can think of.

The SIM Card slot is under upper part cover
I phoned AT&T and talked to 2 depts: International Support and Customer Service. No go, and they checked the IMEI for me and said it came up with "not available for unlocking". Only suggestion is to contact Sony. They also said even as AT&T customer, the result is still the same.
eBay has someone selling unlocking for $62. I haven't used them so I can't say if they are legit (sounds like but who knows) and it's expensive too.
Cannot find other methods at all. I won't even attempt those online sites that shows they can do it, they just created repeated pages for all phones and devices on their website so they show up on searches, and not even sure they can do it. Worse, sometimes a refund can take a long time (same for eBay, I am not saying eBay any better).
$62. is quite a lot. I would go for $30. but really can't decide at this price since I paid the Woot special deal price, not full price on the device.
anyone try for ebay unlock code sony tablet P?
here is the cheaper solution... http://www.masterunlockcode.com/uni...-sony-tablet-p-unlock-code-np-2012-14048.html
only 49.99, can be pay it on paypal..
any other info regarding this?
I also has ATT sony tablet P to unlock..
btw, anyone know how to update ATT sony tablet P to ICS? other country tablet P are easy to update.. but not for ATT
Sim unlock for the Sony Tablet P AT&T is now obsolete and nothing can be done about it.
All online unlocking services are not able to unlock it. It's only in Sony's hands if they decide to give out the unlock code.
Please if someone can find a solution point to it.
Does anyone have this file "signed-nbx02_001-ota-0045.010.zip" this may help to unlock the sim-lock by updating to HC 3.2.1. This file is also my only hope of unbricking my TAB S. LOL long story.... don't ask

You know we are talking about the Sony Tablet P so your suggestion is not applicable.

I also want to know why this is not applicable because I was also planning to do this as well. Is it because Sony has whitelisted the EDID so it won't load the communication if it is not in the right list? If it is the case, would you know the EDID of the worktable model so in case one pops up on eBay? Since you seem to know what you are talking about, I wish you would elaborate it a little more to help some of us as info is hard to come by on this model, instead of a simple one liner? Please.

I'm not that much knowledgeable than you, I simply built up my info trying to unlock my Tablet P and using several online services and all of them failed to give me an unlock code for the Tablet P and further searching lead me to know that still Sony and AT&T on agreement for the Tablet P so that might make Sony reluctant or unable to release the Tablet P unlock code to the public.
That is all and I'm not hiding any info that might help others.

I don't get it. Now you are talking about asking for unlock code from Sony or AT&T. But cdwangxd explicitly asked about replacing the modem card, not about asking for an unlock code, which are completely two different things. And you answered, directly to his post, because you have quoted his, saying that it is "not applicable".
There are various kinds of F5521gw cards on the market such as eBay, some are generic, some are with Dell or HP EDIDs. Not only you said this is "not applicable", you didn't even point out which kind of cards aren't. And I wanted to give you a chance to help all of us here, by answering your own answer.
I hope the question is not too complicated for you? The question is this: You said replacing the F5521gw card (you labelled this as a "suggestion", fine by me), is "not applicable", my question is why is it not applicable?
Do you at least understand that the state of the lock or unlock (network lock etc), stays on the modem card, and not the other parts of the Tablet? I hope you at least understand this?
Various people have made the same suggestions as cdwangxd did, so I am sure he has done his homework, from forums such as pocketables. The only thing missing is there hasn't been one documented case of success of this method so far, so this is unknown as to the success rate, and also if true generic version must be used or not.
I am not trying to be personal. Your answer to cdwangxd is very important and critical, and your information will determine if this method would work or not. Thus I asked you about whitelisting because that is what the PC market has been doing to block out non factory parts being integrated, so this can be a real possibility (since Sony also makes laptops. sure they will understand and know this trick too, right?).
Again, please answer the question in order to help us. We do not need the answer about unlocking code, as that has been a dead end so far. Thanks. (except for an eBay seller who claimed to have direct access to Sony's database, b/c of the price, I didn't buy it).

First of all, it took you more than 2 weeks to answer to this thread again.
Second, "not applicable" doesn't necessarily mean that it's not doable and I know that the lock is resident in the modem card but importantly are we talking on the same device the Sony Tablet P (this is also an important and critical point to the subject) because do you know how hard it is to change the modem card in the Tablet P? do you even know the schematics of this device? and are you certain that it's a separate modem card inside and not soldered to the mainboard?
It's all about how far would you go to get your device unlocked? are you willing to destroy your Tablet P to have it unlocked?
Furthermore, who would do it for you? and for how much?
If you know of a simple method of changing the modem card (that is if it's changeable in the first place) then tell me and I will be the first to get onboard for the unlock.
By the way, there is no document of any success case because it's "not applicable" so just don't throw your flame replies without proof, if you have proof on your saying get back to us with the solution and we will be all grateful to you.
Again, finally till now, the only solution to unlock the Tablet P is an unlock code from Sony not even AT&T can help with that, only Sony.

I am sorry that it took 2 weeks for me to reply to this thread. Is that a problem? I do not know that a prompt reply is required on a public forum?
To me, "not applicable" means "not doable" because your post did not make any elaboration beyond a one line comment, however critical this info is. But regardless, to give you the benefit of the doubt, I simply asked you one more time to give you a chance to explain further. But you came back with an answer about unlock code, and nothing about what was about the response you made to the other poster, about F5521gw.
And of course I am talking about the Sony Tablet P marketed by AT&T, the 3G version, which I own. The question by the other poster, is about a Japanese version, but regarding swapping the modem card, the process is the same.
The thing is that how hard it is to change the modem card should not be a question to me, but rather to cdwangxd since it is he who suggested it, but why didn't you ask him about this earlier on? But questioning me now about this, as I am not the person suggesting it, but the person questioning your answer about "not applicable" and wanting further information and clarification.
I don't know the schematics of this device, but do you? If you don't why did you claim it is "not applicable", in which and what way?
Not only others have mentioned about replacing F5521gw cards on various forum posts (forgot which forum at this point), I have opened up my device and can confirm that it is a F5521gw card which is (naturally) removable from its m-PCIe socket. And it is not soldered on the main board.
And as for who would do it for you and for how much, this is rarely a question on xda here. Most xda members prefer to do things themselves and some are more hardware savvy and some are less. It took me a 2nd try to find the edges to pop out the top cover, but it is not that hard. Granted I have some experience in hardware so I am not suggesting everyone trying the same thing. Again, I am not the person who suggested swapping the card, so I am not sure why you are directing the risks and dangers (possible) to me instead of cdwangxd who suggested this (whom you did not say any of these for those times).
I have put back the original modem now, but if I have another one (let's say an unlocked generic one) in front of me now, I can swap the whole thing in 10 minutes, start to finish. So may be this is not easy for some, I am sure some people including myself, can do this.
The problem here is your sense of logic. It can make our debate difficult. Let me make an example:
1.cdwangxd said the sun rises from the east.
2. you came back saying that the sun does not rise from the east (basically my interpretation of what "not applicable" means without any other substantiation, which you still failed to refer back to what you mean. And I am sure you mean "no" basically.)
3. I asked if you have any back up saying that the sun doesn't rise from the east, surely I have some doubts but want to give you a chance.
4. You came back saying that since I don't have proof that the sun does rise from the east, then I cannot question your response.
So in your logic, the sun does not rise from the east only because I cannot provide proof. Where is your logic? For anything you state, the onus is on you to proof, not for the one questioning it, as that'd be "begging the question" if not more paradoxical.
My intent is simple and pure. cdwangxd has a suggestion that I have also read about elsewhere, but there hasn't been a reported case of success. Moreover, there are various models of F5521gw on eBay, some are named generic, Dell or HP, and some claimed generic are actually Dell. It is important to find out what works, before buying as it is rather hard to return for refund over eBay. Other sources are more expensive, and usually foreign and thus, also hard to return.
I put that question out to you, because cdwangxd provided a method (which I have read elsewhere to be same), that is plausible. You brushed it off with a one liner, which could be the most critical part. If you are right afterall, then there is no need to go shop for a F5521gw, saving the money and effort. So your response is deemed critical and thus I have a valid reason of wanting a confirmation.
But you prefer to beat around the bush, questioning everything else, including putting the onus back to me, instead of answering the question: why did you respond with that line? Under what kind of information have you gotten and if you are prepared to share.
My delay in 2 weeks doesn't mean the truth can be altered. If it works or not, 2 weeks does not make a difference. Please stop having excuses after excuses.
And last but not least, since you did not even know for sure if the modem inside is F5521gw, removeable or not, how dare you said that cdwangxd's suggestion is "not applicable"? It is beyond that you have read wrong info about this, it is that you simply didn't even know until now (as I said earlier here). You simply had as much as a guess, but you put the line as short and abrupt (end all and be all). So basically my original calling you out on this, isn't far from what I suspected: you didn't know what you were talking about, simple as that.

I'll take your point here:
Why are you directing all your replies to me and not to cdwangxd?
In my first reply to you I clearly mentioned that I'm not more knowledgeable than you (I'm not an expert) and that the info I'm posting is based on my research trying to unlock my Tablet P and for mentioning that it's "not applicable" is because it didn't cross my mind that someone would do what you did (so, kudos to you).
As you were brave enough to do what you did to your Tablet P (for sure more brave than me) so you were close enough to know the details about what you were asking me.
Furthermore, why didn't you try it yourself? I'm not that brave ti open my Tablet P to figure it out.
Finally, again, if you ever find the way just inform and lead the way and I will follow.

[Q] ZTE Open C

I today received the ZTE Open C and I have to say it is a wonderful phone. There is one really irritating thing about it though. It is branded.
Whenever you lock the phone instead of displaying the wallpaper it displays the blue wallpaper of the Firefox, no matter what wallpaper you are using.
So for the people who know Firefox OS well: Is there a way to change this?
what release is running on ZTE Open C?
could you do a short review of the device, and more importantly, where did you get yours so early?
ZTE is sending out the ebay orders starting May 23rd...
not that i am interested in buying one, as i have the 1st Open, and i'll wait for better spec devices like the Alcatel Fire S,
but i guess it would be interesting for one or other here?

I saw the pre-order for it on Ebay on the 3rd of April, so the ship date for me was a lot earlier. It wasn't even linked on Google I just searched for it on Ebay and by chance it was there! Firefox OS 1.3 made by ZTE, and so far it's very good, apart from the problem I have mentioned. I would like to note that there is an app on the phone called "Software Updater" with "Update Device" "Update History" and "Update Frequency" options... I believe this means they are going to keep this updated. I'm using my ZTE Open for testing, and my ZTE Open C for main use (because of the larger screen)
Google ZTE Open C to find the ebay page, all the info is there, I would review it but I've only had it for a day so far
yeah, i would not bet on them supporting this one longer.
as it seems the Open is not supported anymore.
they don't answer questions about this.
Mozilla does not really answer questions about this.
so that is in my book a pretty good sign they wont support it.
lame.
still on MDN as a "developer" device.
how on earth should you "develop" if you can't update the frekking phone because the HAL is missing for newer builds?
thanks a bunch! 80 Euro wasted on a piece of crap phone that isn't worth more than 30USD to begin with.
being "early adopter" sure doesn't pay off here.
you get crappy hardware for a high price.
i pitty all the people who actually bought a geeksphone keon for 150USD (same low hw specs as the Open)
enough rambling, hope to see your review soon?

I'm sorry to dissapoint, but after using it for a few days there isn't enough different to review. There's the Firefox OS 1.3 which we know well, basically no lag at all and everything opens really quickly. The keyboard allows you to type really fast and still be accurate (this could be due to the 4 inch screen). The speaker is a little bit better and is on the front so you don't need to turn the phone around if you're listening to music, there is an update app on the phone which guarentees updates. The update option through the settings has been removed. It comes with a few of what I can only assume are ZTE's wallpapers but none of them have a logo or anything and most are quite good.
My only problem with the phone is that the lock screen never and will never display your wallpaper. It always shows the blue firefox wallpaper even if yours is different. I emailed ZTE and they said the "Firefox System" added it not them which I assume means the official Firefox OS 1.3 carrier build.
I hope this changes, because it's ugly. Other than that the phone is really good.

Huawei updates automatic bootloader tool to include US devices

Hi guys, we got Huawei to add the Mate2 (MT2-L03) and the Snapto (G620-A2) to the online bootloader unlock tool. Hope this helps out.

Thanks for the report. Another user said the same thing on a different forum. I have contacted the team that runs that site.

Looks like they don't work weekends. I sent it again Sunday afternoon (time in USA) and got it a few hours later. Thanks for your encouragement. I'm all rooted now. Just wish we had a dev working on this thing so I can get rid of bloat and make it my own. What a great phone (screen and battery).

I didn't use mine, but have it stashed away...just in case.
In the last few years, I've become more of a leave it stock person.
My previous devices, Dell Streak 5, Galaxy Note1 (international), needed root, new kernels, new OS just to make
them work properly, but, for me anyway, quite frankly, all I've had to do with my Mate2, is charge it up and turn it
on. Probably one of the most stable devices I've used, since my old analog & digital Motoroal Star-Tac flip phone.

I have a Dell Streak 7 and still have the original Note 1 (though neither is getting any action lately). I am usually a tinkerer but I have to agree with you that this phone is not too shabby on stock. I am glad I have root so I can delete some of the bloat.

Just reading threads thinking of getting mate 2 to just play with. My post is because I saw you had the Dell streak 5. I didn't think anyone still had them, But I still have mine with Longhorn as the os still.

I think mine ended with 4.04? I've still got it...even with the quirks, I enjoyed it!
Did the online tool work for anyone? We reported the issue and I wanted to make sure it was fixed for Mate2.

The link redirects me here. That's after it makes me have to login by either an account with them or via facebook. No signs for acquiring the bootloader code on their website.... Using Chrome Browser.

There is a link toward the top, right side to unlock. You select that. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK!

Brush Unlock??? Not seeing anything related to unlocking the bootloader on that website.
If you are seeing the link then copy it here. I haven't dived into Brush Unlock since it requires to create a "nickname" which I am not interested in doing. Have tried other links on that site to no prevail. It's bad enough I had to link it to my facebook just to get this far....

Sorry, the photo was kind of small and I had trouble reading it. So, no, not Brush Unlock.
When I follow the link in the OP I then log in using my Huawei account that I created previously. Then I am taken to a page to download the new EMUI 3. I click on the download link and at the top, right of that page (just above the pics of the different phones) is a link for "Unlock Bootloader". Previously this took me to the tool to unlock the bootloader. Today it just takes me in a loop, back to the original page to download the EMUI 3. So, it appears that not only does it not work, they have now really broken it.
If you want to PM me your information I will try and get your unlock code. I would need:
Serial Number:
IMEI:
Also, please confirm that you have an MT2-L03, the US version of Ascend Mate 2.

Yea, I remember it showing the "unlock bootloader" link a while back which is what I was initially looking for lol. I Sid some googling earlier and found the actual link that lets you put in the information but I don't think it's been updated at all lol. No option for this device. All international. They need to link up with HTC and learn from them about how to handle this kind of stuff since it is web based.

Well i gott the mate 2. It's good so far. Sent huawei for my unlock code so I shall see how that goes. LOL Update well I sent Huawei the email at 3:20pm and 6:14pm and got the unlock code at 8:50pm.
I was so happy I got to their screen and it had MT2-L03 as a model number
but it doesn't work for me as welll....sigh
gotta wait for the emails i guess.....
I think it's only north american devices that don't work with that tool? or is it WIND specific

Looking for someone with an Huawei "Phone Account", please help!

Hey guys,
i'm looking for someone with a Huawei "Phone Account", and is willing to help me generate my bootloader unlock code
i am from Germany and can't register a "Phone Account" with my phone number.
i desperately hope there is someone that is willing to help me, just post here and i'll provide the necessary information via pm!
tfBullet
At the risk of sounding silly, do some Googling on this one. What you're asking for is a little sketchy, but there's a large enough community of tinkers for Huawei since they've penetrated the North American market. You may have to google translate some of the foreign resources.
Googling for what exactly? i googled for days, and didn't find any way, despite sending an email to [email protected], which i did 6 times, starting five weeks ago, and havent got ANY sort of reply so please be a bit more specific

Had any luck? I'm in the same boat -- it seems since the online boot code unlocker tool has gone live, Huawei has quit answering emails requesting a code (I've sent too many requests to count, for weeks now and gotten nothing back). But, just like you, I don't have a phone number that is eligible to register as a "phone account," and so the tool is useless.
I'm getting pretty close to ordering a cheap SIM from a country from which Huawei allows phone accounts to be registered.
EDIT: I managed it, just now. The key was to use the Chinese version of the unlock website ( h t t p://emui.huawei.com/cn/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail ) -- this version doesn't require a product ID, and it doesn't even seem to matter what device you pick from the dropdown -- it just calculates the code from the SN and the IMEI (at least, for me, running it multiple times picking different devices but putting in the same SN and IMEI generated the same code each time; YMMV). Google translate does an EXCELLENT job on the page text, and it was super simple.

Dude, i'm sorry i didn't already respond here with my solution... actually, i have no idea if it was just luck, or if they have changed their system because of my e-mail-spam-campaign
So, this is how it worked for me! You go here: http://www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
1st: browser to http://www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
You should be landing directly on the unlock page!
---> don't change the language!! keep it chinese, or whatever kind of language that is ^^
---> don't user googe translater!
2nd: select the second element (from top to bottom) in the first box
3.: You select the model "HUAWEI Y300-0000"
4.: in the first box you enter your S/N
5. in the second your IMEI
6. in the third you enter the captcha
now send a prayer to god, and press the green button...
thats it, s if they ask for your account, then just use the normal account, which you probably already have
soo.... din't get any sleep the last two nights... cheers!
EDIT: Wow, i was that tired yesterday, i didn't even notice that i wrote Denglish (= German + English) sorry
i have corrected the post now, please let me know if you had success!
And don't hesitate to send me a PM with your data, if it doesn't work for you, i'll try it and do my best - know what you're going through man, i was at the same point, also even considering buying a foreign SIM just for this crap! And out of sheer frustration, i tryed it for the millionth time, and out of nowhere suddenly it worked... i couldn't believe it!
If it doesn't work for you, and i can generate your code for you, i'll write a webpage, which uses my account to help others that are stuck in the same dilemma...
well unfortunately, my device still won't boot, i can flash what i want, it shows me "Func NO : 12 (FUNC_LOAD_IOM3)" and i found almost no information about what it even means...

Hey, no worries! As I edited my earlier comment to say, I got it, using a variation of what you described as your process. Thanks a ton for your write up though -- hopefully it will also help the next person, because this is clearly a common problem.
I feel the same as you, that now that I've gotten it to work I want to make sure other people manage it as well -- a web page or new post with detailed instructions in the manufacturer specific forum...I dunno.

Ugh, sorry mate. Again I'm in a similar (though more common, and potentially less dire) boat: I can flash what I want, but I'm in a bootloop, only able to boot into recovery. Oh well...progress, right?
Good luck!

I'm glad you managed it! even with my writeup in total doze, couldnt even hold my eyes open (i think i actually fell asleep while writeing it a couple times xD) where i switched between languages,
and wrote half sentences but i wanted to get it out to you asap, to end your suffering
to your bootloop problem:
Well you're close, actually falshing a full image (B127 for example) should do the trick... if not, try to find out why the device is rebooting ( -> errorlogs)
to my problem: well, i cant even get into recovery, all i got atm is fastboot... the only thing the search revealed about the error i'm getting is, that this has something to do whith some kind of sensor(s), i guess i damaged a partition which holds some kind of firmware/driver for some kind of sensor...
BUT: i have a Riffbox, so my last resort is flashing via JTAG, but unfortunatley the Mate 7 isn't supported at the moment, and i didn't get a response when i asked them to help me build a ressurrector for it... :/

Anyway to flash my Mate 10 Pro with USA Software?

Hey everyone! Anyway to flash my mate 10 pro with USA software without having to pay so much money? Thanks!
This thread details a flashing/re-branding process which you can perform without paying. Note that I haven't even read through the thread, let alone done anything mentioned in it, so don't treat this as an endorsement - perform your own due diligence and decide if it's the path you want to take before embarking on it.
If you decide to follow this path, the correct region code for the USA appears to be C567 according to this thread. Good luck!
Above poster is correct.
Though there is no USA firmware (yet). I'm not even sure what Pro will release with in the US or if it will support WiFi calling (t-mobile and at&t pulled out)

It appears to all be about politics, as this article (among countless others) hints at. Don't be surprised to find ZTE products no longer being made available in the US market. I wonder how long it'll take them to realise that Motorola is now Chinese, and decide to ban that brand too?
Politicians: just like cockroaches, only more disgusting and less useful.
