On every custom rom i tried (LineageOS 16, crDroid 8.1 / 9.0, Arrow 9.0, AOSPExtended 6.0) i only can access the front camera.
There is no option for switching to the back camera (the main camera).
Change to another camera app also doesn't help.
So it is not related to a special rom.
Does anybody know where to search for the issue?

Currently I have RN3Pro(SD) on MIUI 6.9.15 (xiaomi.eu ROMs) and I have rear camera s5k3p3_omida1 and front camera s5k5e8_yx13:0. Is there any ROMs (AOSP/CM based, 6.0+) with these camera working? I've tried official CM13 (18Sept build) and front camera doesn't work. On my current ROM fingerprint is so bad, few times didnt recognize and auto relock after while front case closed although I've disabled Smart cover. Thank you.
I have official CM 13.0 and everything works like a charm. When you flashed CM did you flash the supported firmware as well?
Official CM13 hasnt support all drivers of RN3Pro variants
This tread is for understanding the working roms in xda for the Redmi Note 4X whit Omnivision Camera.
This is the working rom that i know for now.
Lineage 13 (Last may build) camera working.
Halogen OS camera working
ACIP (Android Ice and Cold Project) camera working
I know this 3 roms.
If some one know more roms that support Omnivision Camera Driver write here.
yesterday flash legend rom and slim rom,i have same problem with both rom. i cant access rear camera,when i switch to rear camera still on front camera but upside down.
idk if the problem only with omnivison,but when i tried with samsung sensor everything normal.
We need a fix for this.
For Now Acip,Halogen OS and Lineage 13 are fine.
I think the problem is in the kernel because yesterday when i flashed the velvet kernel my camera stop working.
This needs some more attention, it doesn't seem to hard to fix because some roms already have the support and I would like to see all roms support the omnivision camera.

Might be part of it but using AICP kernel on RR doesn't make the rear camera work

Someone help to fix camera in Huawei cun-l21, LineageOs 14.1/CM 14.1/AOSP Extended. All this rom is based on Android 7.1.1 and in camera appears pink shadow and front camera with front flash it does not work at all, Any solution?

Replace all the files in the zip from your stock System folder and then flash it to fix camera bugs...

In the latest version of android 10 custom roms like resurrection remix, crdroid android, havoc os, my sensors are not working. I am following every step carefully but adaptive display, proximity, fingerprint sensors are not working.. what is the solution? I've tried these rom and problem exists in every one of them.

I need a good camera app that supports macro, portrait,and can shoot at my full mega pixel(48mp back, 24mp front)
How it started;
I managed to flash derpfest android 13 unofficial rom but the camera app is really basic and lacks the above mentioned features so i decided to go back to my stock rom
I backed up my stock camera then i reflashed the gsi but on installing the camera app it keeps crashing
I tried many gcams and some other apps but they crashed too
I later managed to find out my device doesn't support camera2api which is required for gcam
I just need a way to make my stock camera app work on this new rom
Device is UMIDIGI A11 PRO MAX

Originally android 11 but now 13
How did you manage to install a Rom on A11 Pro Max? Can you help me?
