Benchmark tests with stock better than with custom ROM? - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

Hello guys,
I flashed the openkirin omnirom pie ROM and did an geekbench 4 and antutu benchmark.
My results were much much worser than with stock. Is this normal ? Should I go back to stock and delete all bloatware?
Where can I find the Huawei stock firmwares ?

Huawei cheats benchmarks on stock, so the results you get are probably the real performance of the device.

Nah, I'm on 4.1 already. I just set the CPU to change frequency when the load hits 90%, otherwise the stock configuration makes it ramp up higher all the time. It saves battery without compromising performance.

Good idea, people can see which rom works best in matter of performance.
Can anyone post AICP benchmark? I have not flashed yet

No, just clean lineage is from XDA
Keep in mind, that 3/32 vs 4/64 emmc have different speeds, so the benchmark scores without emmc info do not mean the difference comes from the rom.

Best Xperia Z2 Nougat ROM

What is the best nougat rom for z2? I want stability, performance and everything works. I saw Resurrection Remix, CarbonROM, CypherOS and Lineage OS. Which is the best? Now I have eXistenZ Marshmallow and performance is not perfect, but I like original Xperia look and I want something looking similar to this. What I should to install?
rr is good
but rr oreo is come now
i used it is very good:laugh:
I install already rr and I'm very glad
I'm using RR and I think it's the best

the only one nougat rom has Xperia Interface . here... but it outdated . but still okay ..
Once upon a time custom rom used to be better in stability and usability than stock rom.
But those days are long gone.
Now a days custom rom is just about upgrading and adding fancy stuff.
No single custom rom can beat stock rom in stabilty/performance/battery etc now.
I've tried them all. But now I'm back to stock with restored TA.
Don't plan to go on a custom rom again.
YMMV.

It's not true for EX performance of oreo roms is far better than stock roms
I can't say anything about battery life but i don't think that the deference will be so much

I meant to write stability/usability/battery.
It's true that performance is slightly better in nougat/oreo than stock MM.
But is the performance gain due to "tweaks" and "optimization" done by the cookers? No, it is because the improvements done by Google.
Nougat rom still has the mic issue.
Battery charging takes twice the time than stock.
Battery life is worse than stock.
And frankly, I really don't notice any performance difference in stock MM. it is noticeable only if I do bench.
Like I said, YMMV. So you should try out first before taking a decision.

Best custom rom for pubg on POCO F1?

I'm new here so can anyone suggest a custom ROM which can give a better gaming experience or is the stock rom best for gaming?
Xiaomi.eu if you want a stock based rom that is good. As for what's best for gaming I have no idea.

If someone could run gaming or performance tests on different roms and post the results, we could decide what we want and flash that rom

Seriously? You mean that others should do the work you won't do your self?
First of the phone is on second place in antutu board with both stock and custom based on stock.
If you compare the system with a rom that is based on let's say aosp /Ln I can straight of the bat say that the stock based will work better since kernel source code isn't fully released meaning stock is your best bet atm.

I've tested all the custom ROMs available for Poco including GSI ROMs both 8.1 and 9 as of now stock ROM provides the best performance in gaming as well as benchmarks. Ive tried pubg in most of the ROMs including the recent device specific RR,lineage, havoc, dot os,AEX but none gets close to stock probably because they all use lineage tree because of that you won't notice much difference. In short stock is gold.

Definitely that's the whole point of custom ROMs. To provide more features, performance and cusyomizations over stock. So yes but will take quite some time.
So any update on this thread?

Sorry for the ignorance, but which ROM would be the stock one? Is it in the ROMs and Kernels subforum? I can't find it.
About battery usage whilst gaming, is it different? Better, worse?
Thanks for your help!

Not even with a custom kernel??
I'm using nos for quite some time now.. And I gaming alot with nos.. You should try it.. Also I remember oos is good for gaming too.. Nos with stock kernel..
There is a kernel called NO Gravity that is supposed to be the best one out at the moment for gaming. Get a good custom Rom like Evolution X and then put that custom kernel on it, and let us know.

I did flash No gravity Kernel, and there is a gaming mode which will overclock the gpu and at the same time won't let the battery drain at the cost of little heat(Nobody notice that much). And u can flash the magnetar payload in magisk manager, and that's it, game is smoother than ever. Use the MIUI 11 only, it's the best.

Should use Android 6 or 7 on kenzo phone will be smoother?

Ask:
1.I use Redmi Note 3Pro with strong demand for games and cell phones. Which ROM should I use?
2. Should use Android 6 or 7 on kenzo phone will be smoother?

I'm currently using the lastest stable Ressurection Remix ROM with AGni kernel, getting 110.000+ scores on Antutu, device is very fast and smooth.
I'd recommend that.

Use N. It's the best solution for kenzo. MM is old, O have network standby drain, P is buggy and have the same drain of O.
nougat or oreo

It has the standby drain issue, if you don't care it's ok, if you do don't use it.
Nougat for sure.

Best version of MIUI for gaming

I have the global version of Pocophone F1.
I only care about gaming performance and battery backup.
Currently on 10.2.3.0 stable.
My current Antutu score is 299961, though I know sometimes these scores don't reflect to real world gaming performance.
Not sure if I should update to 10.3.4 or rollback to older versions for better gaming experience, meaning comparatively better, stable FPS with less frame drops.
Not talking about PUBG only, but all heavy games.
TLDR, looking for the best version of MIUI for gaming on the Pocophone F1.
Cheers!
Imo Miui 10.3.4 is a hit or miss. It did screw up touch response for a lot of users including me (I rolled back to 10.2.3). So my advice would be to stay away from it for now.
honestly, its miui 9 oreo(v9.6.25) then there is miuipro based on miui 10( i,ve tried beta 9.1.24) and last but not least the oxygen os port (op6 port 9.04 march 4th build).

Not true, try xiaomi eu and always use latest version. Tomorrow 9.4.11 is getting released.
I have to say.. 10.3.4 is the best bro.. but its not like its just the rom.
I have installed so many modules and tweaks and even custom kernel.
Malakas kernel for one. Its the only kernel that gives me a locked 60 fps in nba 2k19.. accdg to gl tools.. as well as ppssppp and damon ps2 pro.
Plus install LKT , UNTHERMAL AND THANAS_BUILD_PROP TWEAKS..
IT wont only give you as much as 315k antutu score. But it will also boost your gaming experience...
---------- Post added at 01:12 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:10 PM ----------
At the expense of battery of course.. during gamimg. With all.those installed tweaks.. the phone gets hot.. about 50-55°C.. but still gives you the smoothes experience there is.. unthermal is like the performance mode of both kirin 980 and exynos 9820..

If you are on a locked bootloader phone then flashing the fastboot rom is the only way, if your phone is unlocked with twrp installed then you can simple download the recovery rom and clean flash it from twrp.
