Heard rumors about WearOS 2.3 coming to Fossil SPORT, though so far no such update has hit my watch. Still waiting.

Wear0S 2.3 I do not have too.
but now we are waiting for an update H (Android 9.0)
Other models and brands have already gotten them!

I don't know what to believe anymore: my watch shows WearOS version 2.3, but "Android OS" shows 8.1.0. What am I supposed to make of this? And yes, I've heard of "Version H," but that's not what I have apparently.

How good is the vibration?
I am looking for a smartwatch to help my mother who is hard hearing. Does the fossil sport vibrate enough to wake a person up? How long and hard does it vibrate?
Also the watch should notify her of fire alarm, visitors at the door etc. I assume that since it's a wear watch you can get notifications from ANY smartphone app on the watch?

Vibration wakes me up every day, can be set, normal. I use long and double!

Any news about update?

Nothing. Not a peep. Very frustrating. Watch is pretty much useless without an update to make it snappier.

There were rumors a while ago that 9.x is in the offing, which would finally unlock some features of the 3100 chipset. Looks like they're taking their sweet time, so maybe we'll see 9.x right about the time the 3100 chipset is obsolete.

I have Android 8.1 with Wear OS 2.6 and I don't have any tiles, may it matter what version of WerOS we have in my mobile?

Another rumor is that Google is finally going to release a Pixel Watch. One would assume that it will have said 3100 chipset, and the new OS based on 9.x. One would also assume when that happens all the watches that have the 3100 will be updated at that time, or soon after. Who know with Google though.

I am new to smartwatches, but anyway, is there development for the fossil sport/bootloader unlocking?

I got tired of waiting for a pixel watch, there have been rumors for almost a year lol. The fossil sport seems decent for now. I'll probably sell it when, and IF, the pixel watch comes out. The pixel 2 xl has been my best phone ever ill be getting the pixel 3xl when the 4 comes out which I hope they finally release a pixel watch.

unlimited vibrate on notifications to wake me up
I want a smartwatch that can wake me up on every notification I want.
I used "smart wear notification" but even when setting a very long vibration patter it just vibrates the maximum firmware based vibration time.
I want it to vibrate until i turn it off like the alarm so it wakes me up on important notifications.
any other way I can do that, maybe I have to root te smartwatch (I'm new to smartwatches, don't know what is possible)

Anybody who is like me an regularly checks the OS update option for update but it always seems up to date try this. Just tried and it actually worked. I'm downloading an update now. At first it said the usual up to date but tapped a few times, went out and then went back in and it started downloading
As far as I can tell I currently already have on watch same latest version (8.1.0/Tiles) as others here already but I'm assuming this new update is security patches. I'm hoping it's some performances improvements though as the watch/OS is really laggy.

Lag?

Hi,
Just got the 360 46mm today. For some reasom, it feels like it lags, A LOT. Anyone else experiencing this? Wondering if I just have a bad unit
Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
My 46mm is also sluggish. I am wondering the same thing - I saw it in one review as well but most have not mentioned it. Is anyone else experiencing this at all? I have a Sony Smartwatch 3 and it has similar specs - but smooth as butter.
---------- Post added at 01:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:38 PM ----------
I just bought mine yesterday. Updated it and charged it. It was lagging. I restarted it - and it seems smooth now. Have you tried that?
So I am going to return mine and see if the new one experiences the same lag. I would like to hear if anyone else has experienced this still. After a restart, it stops for a bit. I also tried unpairing, uninstalling wear from my phone (Note 5) and factory resetting. I have no apps installed. I factory reset 3 times in the past bit - also tried disabling and enabling Google Fit, Cloud Sync, and Wifi. It seems to start occurring after receiving a hangout or text message. The lag persists even after dismissing it on the device. It also persists if I disable bluetooth on my phone and let it run just as a disconnected device. I think that kind of rules out the phone. Other than the typical Google apps stock with android, my watch is also stock using the stock watch face. This is the 46mm - in case others come across this and need info.

Spotted this on the Motorola forums - I wonder is this what you're experiencing?
https://forums.motorola.com/posts/1a5cbb0aa8
This is exactly what I am experiencing. Thank you! Are others experiencing it or is it a dud? His fix seems to "fix" mine. Still annoying for a 400 buck device
Great that this fixed it! Yes, it is annoying - but hopefully something Motorola can fix with a software update. He says that others on Reddit have been reporting it, but I haven't been able to find that yet.
I found the reddit thread. I will just run with wrist turn on and ambient off. Things like this happen and Android Wear is still in its infancy. Such is life! Now where to report this...

Ah! So I'm not alone. Too bad I returned it. I am going to take a break from smart watches for now given with the not so great experience with the Gear S2 and the new 360. I'm going to wait for the new urbane and see what LG is cooking up

S Voice, it is terrible. Notifications on the watch would be like 3 minutes late sometimes and just a few minor annoyances. Don't get me wrong, I really liked it, the watch is lag free unlike AW and battery life is awesome, but I honestly don't think it's worth $300

To be honest, I really love the moving ring the s2 has... It must be so easy to navigate the clock's functions...

Not the Only One
Glad to know I'm not going crazy here. I thought it was doing exactly that, but I wasn't too motivated to look into it. I was just thinking about returning my 46mm. It definitely seems better after turning the always-on display off.
Yes, it's definitenly not perfectly smooth for me either (have 46mm version).
In several reviews it is said that Huawei Watch for example is much smoother compared to Moto 360 v2. Which is weird since both have the same processor and Huawei have even higher screen resolution.
So for me this is definitely an optimization issue, which was not properly resolved by Motorola yet. But I hope it will be in future updates.

We are keyboard developers for Smartwatches, lagging is one of our major research topic for our user experience for our TouchOne Keyboard. We have tested with all the Android smartwatch in the market. I agreed with you that Moto 360 2nd 46 is much lagging compared with 42 mm. This is technically proven in our result that Moto 46 mm is much slower than the Moto 42 mm. We couldn't find a reason for that since they have both the same spec.
Also, Sony Smartwatch 3 is the best responding square watch in the market based in our test result.

That's very interesting - I have been wondering about the lag that has been reported, because I have a 42mm and can't say I have really experienced any. Using Pujie Black with 'Ambient' or 'Always On' On.
yeah, i don't use always on, but my 46mm seems laggy now.

Few answers for European users waiting for Nougat

Heres a bit of an update for you guys!
> When Nougat is released it will be the Android 7.1.1 version.
-- It will take some time to finish, they are perfecting it as the USA version released too early and was found to have many bugs after release, the beta test was too short.
> Root is still in the process - Am unsure if this is for Nougat/Marshmallow and how this is going to work, but internally the process has sped up now, so we will see it after Nougat release.
Hope this helps.

I do mind, but it comes from ZTE.
Haha just kidding, its true what rikin93 said zte said that in the beta tester group.
good to hear
This is such good news!! Made my day
But 7.1 will take a bit longer. They actually testing it intern before we test it in the beta.
I sure hope that proper device encryption (including password at bootup that is used for encrypting the internal storage) will be supported for A2017G soon. They promised it for B10 but it didn't seem to have it made into that release. I still have hope that it will show up in Nougat. Is it actually present in the A2017U Nougat release?
There will be official method to unlock phone as you said few weeks ago ?

A2017U has a password ta bootup in Nougat. Wasn't present in MM.
Good to hear that but personally I have my doubts will get directly 7.1.1.
But ZTE should had focus from beginning to that version since have been delay the upgrade to 7.
Since we will get it within March so they are having plenty of time for preparation and no excuse of getting 7 instead of 7.1.1.

There's a similar topic on the official german forum about this. It was commented by ZTE staff yesterday:
"Hello Axon 7 friends!
It seems to be false statement about the update. I want to correct it:
ZTE Germany will publish Android 7.0 at least at the end of the first quarter of the year.
The confusion might have been occurred since the developers are already working on 7.1.

Excellent. I will have moved to a better phone by then.
The signal on this phone is so poor compared to other phones. The sound is great but the software is slow and buggy. The camera is awful compared to many mid range phones. And the support is just rubbish. I'm afraid it was cheap for a reason.
It is only the sound which keeps me using this phone. The new LG will have a quad DAC and that will remove that need. It's a shame but when you compare this phone to my main daily driver - an iPhone 7 Plus (I always carry two phones for various reasons), this is a poor relative, way way behind in 2nd place. If my Note 5 (my other alternative for my second phone) had half decent sound, this phone would have been sold ages ago....

Well with quality control issue with several LG flagship latest years I wish you really good good luck.
You will need 100%.
Also with 3200 battery at 5.7 inches with battery hungry and horrible quality LCD screen LG provide men you will be the best wall charging friends.
With the exception of low light camera performance everywhere else it's at top level and 6 months having the device not had any issue mention.
Before Axon 7 had S7 Edge so you can count that if wasn't pleased I would have returned back to Samsung very easy to me.

What utter nonsense. The modular G5 was plainly a stupid idea. The G4, V10 and V20 were much better. I suspect Samsung will also start adopting decent DACs as well.
Battery life? Also nonsense. My Note 5 has a 5.7" screen and a 3200 battery and lasts as long as, if not longer than, the Axon.
As to signal, I have tested the two side by side and the Axon always loses signal much more quickly. I am not alone in this - loads of reports of it. Bluetooth? Pathetic.

Low light performance ? What about average or high light performance. By modern standards, the camera really is appalling.
And top level performance? Really? Mine (and many others) has never upgraded itself. I have always had to download the updates and apply them. Each upgrade has brought major bugs and the OS skin is appalling (let's not even discuss the notification bell) and buggy. I am not being subjective here - put it next to a Note 5 (which has a much older processor and awful, slow touchwiz) and you will see how the axon is so much less smooth and really struggles when you put it through its paces.
I am not trolling - I have just been around for a long time and seen what is possible in the evolution of phones. Other than the sound quality (which is phenomenal, even if the Bluetooth strength is absolutely crap compared to other phones) the Axon 7 just does not stack up. It wouldn't be an issue if it had been a really cheap phone....
Yes, it is ahead of the OP3 (but probably not the 3T) but that is hardly a good benchmark, not least given the prices
Just my two cents. Not expecting agreement in an Axon 7 forum!!!

Amazfit Verge lite

Hello all,
Amazfit verge lite has launched 2 weeks ago now I think..
Just wondering has anyone got there hands on one yet?? If so what is like?
The thing that impresses me about this new watch is the battery life which is supposed to be 20 days on average use and also the price...it's a good watch for €75
I have the Amazfit Pace watch already and it's a great watch...but as @GreatApo stated recently that there will be no more updates for this watch by Huami so I guess it's at the end of shelf life
So share your thoughts please and especially if you have this watch....I'm hoping it will be a popular watch with lots of development behind it.
Thanks for reading.

If you looking for Verge lite, then better, i think, is to buy Verge at all. Verge lite is cutted version of Verge. If i understand right Verge lite have less sport modes as Verge, but have better battery usage experience. If with Verge you can be quiet 5 days with Verge lite you can be quiet about 20 days (information by Amazfit Verge web site). This is once good thing in Verge lite. About Verge lite in China Amazfit there is no information about memory at all. There is no information about possibility listen music without phone, there is no information about microphone or soundspeaker and ect. So Verge if this information is full in China Amazfit web site, then verge by specification is better choice. But keep in mind that there is in China already Verge 2, how calling some web site, or Nexo as calling China Amazfit web site it. I think this watch is better in many ways: better material, have some new features related with heart tracking and some others which have Verge
About Nexo you can find here - https://cn.amazfit.com/nexo.html. I believe that in China you don't understanding, so use Google translate

I think Verge lite is more like Bip in terms of software. I wouldn't compare it with Verge.

Really? Are you sure? Bip can be without charge by Amazfit about 45 days, Verge lite - 20 days, Verge - 5 days. Different between these models (all) is 25 (BIP vs Verge lite) and 15 days (Verge lite vs Verge). Specifications is almost the same which have Verge, so which models is closer to each other? :victory:

Most/All power goes to the screen. Both verge feature an amoled, hence higher consumption. If bip had an amoled would also fall in the 20days category. That is the logic behind my thoughts, but of course I may be wrong.
I also think Verge Lite is more like "the new Bip", but with improved screen, main reason why battery life goes 45 -> 20 days.

If you like stratos chassis, go for stratos, but other than that and the waterproof feature, it is almost the same watch. Verge has an amoled screen, not visible under sun but better resolution and colors, however, the new Nexo watch may be better so if I were you I would wait to see some reviews and a global release.

Yes only 24 hours, but with 4G connection, which "eating" device battery very much. But you know what is most funny thing? For example Samsung or others manufactors much more expensive smart watches can't be more as this or similar time without 4G, so how much they will be if they have 4G?

I have the Amazfit Pace watch already and it's a great watch...but as @GreatApo stated recently that there will be no more updates for this watch by Huami so I guess it's at the end of shelf life
So share your thoughts please and especially if you have this watch....I'm hoping it will be a popular watch with lots of development behind it.
Thanks for reading.

Today i read about Vertge 2 (known as Nexo), this watch will be animal in a certain aspect, even if you are in China. You can unlock with this watch your car (specific model) and to start it. Also this watch will call emergency help if you will be need it in some kind of situation and for that will no need smartphone (as i understand). There is eSim (by the way it works only in China) with 4G, which by the way copied from Apple's watch (in source was written that). Of course heart rate tracking which have much more power and you will be warming about unusual activity of it and ect. Also more powerful processor and ect. What's else? Oh i forgot to write, with 4G it can be without charge about 30 hours (exactly 28h), but this is with activated 4G, without 4G (working as i mentioned only in China yet) probably can be alive without charger 2 - 3 days as was mentioned in source. So it's not bad. Resoliution is better as Verge, more as 400, i can't remember excatly 460x460 or 480x480. AMOLED display and memory the same. About mircophone/sounspeaker is not mentioned, but will be strange if will not be it. But need to check about it. So if you need advise and if for you don't care possibility to talk with caller via watch or to listen music without phone via headphone Nexo i think is the best choice right now from not expensive models. By the way price must be from 125 to 180 euros, so it's really not expensive if to see what you will get with it And finally word: Verge 2 will be some models: average and something others
Change internal watchfaces
Hey guys! Does anyone know if I can and how to overwrite the internal watchfaces? I'm gonna give my Verge Lite to a friend and I've made a watchface for him, but everytime I unpair, the watchface goes back to the default.

Upcoming G8x w. Dual Screen Review (Fielding all questions)

Greetings all!
So I've been using my (Sprint) LG G8x ThinQ since middle of December and have now been using the dual screen for the better part of two weeks as well. I feel pretty confident that I can now give a full review of the device along with the attachment...
But before I put out my review here, I wanted to see if anyone had any questions or specifics they would like more information on.
I am more than happy to cover anything that may be on your mind about the device as well the dual screen attachment.
I upgraded to this device from a rooted lg v30+ on the Sprint network. Before I swapped over I was running a Verizon Pie variant so I've got a pretty good handle on differences between the V30 running Oreo, and the V30 running Pie, so will be happy to touch on OS and UI differences between the models as well.
Anyway, please reply with any questions or features etc that you'd like more info about and I'll be sure to cover in my review and will post a link here once it's up. I will also try and repiy to any questions or comments below with the answer so you don't have to wait to read/watch the whole review.
(Reserved for future review link)
Also, since the whole G8x forum is still in it's infancy, I will be going through all of the sections to try and see if there are unanswered questions or things I can expand upon as well.

I tried that as well and no. Which one is the setting you apply to use it also for the 2nd screen? It doesn't work for me.
How is the in-screen fingerprint reader? Any good? Fast/slow?
What does the "Touch Feedback and System" adjustment bar do, in the volume adjustment menu?

I would say its decent enough. Has a harder time reading dirty/pruned thumbprint compared to my old HTC 10. Im not too picky about it myself, but it does get picked on for having a slow, and inaccurate reader.
Bump, How do we get Microsoft launcher (Early Access) to get on second screen. Can someone who has successfully done this provide specific instructions?

I'm really on the fence about upgrading from my v30. It's still a great rooted phone and there is really no legitimate reason to "upgrade", so that will be interesting to see in your review: why...And any buyer's remorse? The fingerprint thing above really scares me because I think the clicky back one is the best way to do it. Any sound improvements, what is your gear? Any glitches or harbingers of doom? There seem to be marginal but acceptable case choices which is holding me back as I don't want to use dual screen case daily as the phone, let alone the combo package, is unpocketable in my imagination. Part of me says wait for the V60 which if it also can run three years, will maybe have acceptable performance in the 5g radio space which uptake of it will occur in that window. Battery life without second screen is also a question mark, especially compared to the V30. So I guess my request is to make the theme, of it vs V30. The V30 is well nigh perfect to me. Oh, and I have a huge niggle with having to click "turn on/off" on a (superfluous) toast notification AFTER I've toggled data on or off. Does this new phone ui require this excess step? I toggle my radios multiple times a day to block tracking, protect my nuts from radiation, and save batteries.
Has anyone used the Shadow gaming app on this phone? What i am hoping is that the app will open on the second screen and it the virtual game controller of the phone will work with the Shadow app, so that you can play Windows games through the phone and the controller will be able to play the games.

The battery without the second screen is awesome, better than any phone I had, except for the ROG Phone 2, but that packs a 6000mAh battery so that's to be expected.
Take a look here, middle of the page is where the bettery tests are: https://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g8x_thinq-review-2017p4.php
I used my G8x without the second screen and got 85% left after a working day, of course it's not with 3 hours of SoT but still more than all the phones I had before... I ordered one from eBay for $269 and for that price they come without the accessory (2nd screen)
Battery life, in short, will destroy your V30, which wasn't bad in itself either. Can't say I mind the "only" 1080p screen instead of 1440p.

General I'm mad at OnePlus right now

I know nobody from OnePlus gives a damn anymore and I'm just here ranting to no one. But I just need to express my anger somewhere.
I'm a proud owner of the OnePlus One, part of the first bunch of invites, served me for 4 years and still works to this day, the battery is just a bit dead. Then I bought he 5T which is in my opinion one of the best phones ever made for my purposes. I don't do photos, I'm an IT admin that just needs a pocket PC that has plenty of utilities available and the 5T had everything i need.
After 5 years of service the 5T even though it is still working, just dies on me at 25% probably because of the 3rd party battery and also has general slowness and gets stuck sometimes but overall it has a metal body, headphone jack, read ceramic fingerprint and ACTUAL OxygenOS 10.0.1
I literally just opened the box of the 10T and I find myself with a brick of plastic that apparently from what I've seen in the videos it doesn't even withstand water (which the 5T does veeeery well even if not officially rated) that doesn't have an headphone jack.
Started messing with it and i found myself in a situation that made me start thinking if i should send it back or not. Here's a brief list:
I cannot unlock the phone unless i first double tap and then the fingerprint sensor is available while with the 5T i can literally touch the rear ceramic sensor and it instantly unlocks while turned off, which increases significantly the unlock time and pisses me off even further.
The bottom navigation buttons are not customizable like they where with 10.0.1, I set the square button to lock the phone with a long press, now i cannot do it since it instead opens split screen app that I NEVER use.
The Oneplus shelf is now available from a top scroll down on the status bar ( WHAT THE F***??????) and instead of the shelf now we have F****** Google Discovery page that you cannot even disable if you want to and from what I've seen some people handled to hide with an app made for Oppo's ColorOS.
The pattern lock on the lockscreen is way too high, i understand the sensor is at the bottom but there are literally 5cm available where only the emergency contact button is (not even at the middle of the gap which triggers my OCD) I have big hands but still have to reach the top and it's hella annoying.
For some reason it is now illegal to have circle app icons since you cannot choose that shape, but there is some weird ass other shape, go figure
Settings app got completely butchered, i can't find anything and, for instance i still didn't find the parallel apps and pocket mode and why the hell are the icons and fonts so big in there, what is the purpose??
Why are all Google Apps picking up the wallpaper color and changing their theme, it looks like garbage, I just want it black i tried every way and unticked the option but still doesnt work they are all pink-reddish It's disgusting, why am i not allowed to set it black??
Where is the advanced power menu option??? I want to be able to select the boot to recovery and boot to bootloader option not just the lame poweroff and reboot
If you go to the task manager, you press "close all" the phone decides which apps to close to "have optimal performance". ***** i clicked close all to actually close all, if i wanted you to decide what to close I'd have clicked that... This is pure idiotism. It even trolls you because you click it and closes everything except the current opened app and reopens that one....
Where are the ROMs ??? The list of devices on the site stops at the 9 pro https://www.oneplus.com/support/softwareupgrade and then there is the Nord series. I want the Official ROM zip.
What's funny is that my best friend bought one too and when it arrived 2 days ago he found that the power brick had the type C connector broken inside.
Now I'm sitting here thinking if i should pack it and send it back.
This is disappointing af. I need good specs and easy root with stock android, am I asking too much here ?
Both Android OS (since Pie) and phones (Samsung at least) have taken a dive from 2019.
I'm still running stock Note 10+'s one on 9 the other 10. I see nothing new I like. I absolutely demand expandable storage and good SOT. I'm set for another 2-3+ years.
Meh, give it das boot and find something that fulfills its mission for you.
Lots of older models including some that are new, unused. My last N10+ I bought was one of those. Unlike a used phone the factory sealed ones will be loaded with the OS version at time of manufacture. If you hate 11 and especially 12 as much as me, it's a no brainer. My N10+'s will likely never be upgraded... they run very well as is. Anything from Pie up is reasonably secure unless you do something stupid.
We feel your OnePlus pain since they and most OEM's have been trending downward! Not a good sign of things to come....
Return would be one of your options....
Cheers
The advanced boot menu and the original version bootloader of oneplus 5 is the best for advanced user.
My oneplus 5 is still working (battery is replaced once) but the price of oneplus 10t is very attractive.

That's ColorOS for you. If you really want pure OOS (11 and below), get a 9 pro/8 Pro/8T
I feel your pain. This ColorOS/Oxygen rom totally sucks. But I'm going to keep mine because there is no such specification on the market for this price (Snapdragon 8+ Gen, 16GB RAM, 256GB storage for $650). I hope someone will create custom roms (KOSP, YAAP) in the future.
Bought and used the 10 Pro for about 2 months and sold it.
Bought the Nothing Phone 1 and used it for 1 month....will probably pack it and sell it off soon
Been using the 10T for 3 days......can't comment yet
But overall i'll keep my 9 Pro and as soon as i get pissed with the 10T, i'll just move my sim back to the 9 Pro and i'm good to go.
Suggest you look at the 9 Pro as it's considered a year old device and it's way cheaper compared to when it first launched. Also there are loads of custom ROM for the 9 Pro now.
So i saw several reviewers mention OP10T 's performance is worse compared to other sd 8+ gen 1 phones like IQOO9T etc. Some speculate it's due to OnePlus locking cpu frequencies. Any OP10T owner that runs benchmarks, plays heavy games can comment on this?

It's well-known by this point that OnePlus throttles the SoC since the 888. If you want full performance, you have to toggle performance mode in battery settings. Keep in mind that doing so will have a massive battery penalty as it stops the little cores from down clocking.

Ah gotcha i haven't used a one plus device in 6 years, my 10T will arrive in two days. I'm fine with the battery penalty since if i am gaming i usually have a charger around and that ridiculous charging speed makes up for it. I also have a pelteir cooler if performance mode makes it heat up. Looks like a good custom kernel would go a long for this device.

You have summed this up for me so well. You are not alone. I still consider the 5T to be the best overall phone OnePlus has ever created. At the time, it beat all the flagships for 50% of their price. Easy root and dev friendly. Bulletproof too. Mine still works but my son lost it. It was HEAVY daily use for 5+ years until then.
I moved on to the OP7TP5GMcLaren (after trying the 8 pro and sending it back). It was slightly annoying for bootloader because I had to submit to oneplus to get the unlock code (before they found the bypass) but still worked. No custom roms but it was actually a decent experience and still handles games and dev tasks quite well.
Now I'm holding my 10T and I'm not sure if I should wait or send it back and wait. This fake oxygenOS ain't it. IF I return this phone, I will pick up the Redmi k50 (gaming or ultra) to hold me over. They have good specs at similar pricing but I will take a hit on band coverage. Which might be worth it at this point. I want to at least give this a week but so far, nothing has blown me away. I do like how much it feels like the 5T in hand. But it does not feel as premium as the 7TP/8P. I like the flat screen. I'm trying to love the things I like to be patient.
I don't blame oneplus for all of it, Android in general is still pretty buggy for being on version 12 - but I'm not heading to iOS so I'm here.
I might unlock bootloader, root and just skip otas forever. Breaking Netflix/drm is not ideal.
I will pitch in on OP10T crowdfunding for devs to get their hands on phones to work with

I tried that but it doesn't help much.
I still didn't return it but I'm about to throw it on the wall every time I tap "close all" in the task manager since it doesn't actually kill all apps but decides by itself that the current app I'm using has to be still opened.
Plus i can't live without notification LED and didn't find a single app that emulates it decently. Only one that does something is "Always on edge" but works randomly and more half the times doesn't work at all
They don't care at lie at any moment.
As someone with a 8T im scared. I don't know what to do anymore, my 8T is fine for now but then what? I don't see any MSM tools for the 10 Pro or the 10T. Go with a pixel? I'm actually just considering a iPhone for the first time since the 3GS. Been with android for over 10 years, i'm tired.
I appreciate the candor of OP @seanwlk , and can agree that the industry has become very hostile to the types of people like us who frequent XDA and mod our phones. I also place at the top of my list the requirement to have an easy unlocked bootloader to root.
That being said, I can't help but sense a little over the top reactions from everyone in the forums as well as YouTubers complaining about OnePlus. Full disclosure I have been using OnePlus since the 3T, but I am not a 1+ employee or shill, and I too was frustrated initially and tried out the Pixel 6 before returning it and coming back to 1+. The alternative besides 1+ and Pixel is the Sony Xperia. But the Xperia is way overpriced and overheats, plus is a hassle to root. But it is a great looking phone, and has expandable storage and a headphone jack.
Reasons I returned to OnePlus and rejected Pixel (caveat: both being equal in terms of bootloader unlock and rooting support)
Gestures. Screen off media controls, flashlight, three finger screenshot, ect....have tried Motorola, Essential, HTC, Sony.....OnePlus does it the best IMO. Didn't realize how much I used these and would miss them
Only Android to have an alert slider (and yes I know the 10T doesn't, but they recently revealed they don't plan on keeping it permanently removed. Dumb move IMO to remove it at all, but at least they will be bring it back). This is a big reason I went with the 10 Pro
Hands down, the best fast charging, both wired and wireless. Didn't realize how much it
Other small tweaks, like the native ability to hide status bar icons, the OnePlus font, layout of settings.
Also, I personally don't understand the hate for the influences of ColorOS. I find the larger UI is easy to press and navigate, especially from the notification shade when out and about in sunlight. I don't mind the "new" OOS. But again, to each their own.

Also, the Exynos modem in the Pixel 6 was terrible with reception for both WiFi and cellular. Another big reason I returned it besides the ones I mentioned

I tried that. I tried a modified usnf also. I didn't have any success but that really isn't the deal breaker for me anyway. It was lack of msm, fake OxygenOS (which could be remedied in time with real msm for devs), and the general navigation and features of this "OxygenOS". The charging was great. Nothing else stands out enough. Never Settle indeed.
I'm waiting for OnePlus to stop playing their "we emailed the return label" game. It appears to be something that happens to many people when they want to return a phone. The return label never arrives to email and some get harassed into keeping their phone after it misses the return window. I have a few more days left. Each day they say it will arrive within 24 hours
