Some apk needs default authorizations permissions, so it is locked by default root doesn't matter in this case
if you want to modify those... you need to decompile that apk and modify the permissions as you like and again recompile it, install again
if you modify wrongly some of the applications may not work, it may require those permissions
very difficult to find required permissions unless you are the developer or well known about those applications

No-no - based on your feedback you didn't even get the problem:
the authorization in this case is not a "normal" app permission:
in MIUI this setting gives authorisation for some system apps (like MSA that is known to collect data about you for Xiaomi personalised ads, but even the MIUI Security app) to collect data about me and my online behavior and this gives these system apps authorization to also send these data to Xiaomi to China for further processing.
This is what we cannot disable now - and we were able to switch them off couple of months ago for sure, but not now!

That's the other thing.. I thought one will ask.. but according to my experiments in the last couple of days it does not matter if:
- it's the latest official Xiaomi Global ROM, stable or developer
- it's the latest Xiaomi.EU ROM (based on chinese ROMs), stable or developer
- it's any kind of custom MIUI ROM derived from the 4 kind of ROMs above.. does not work running Mi-Globe, MIUI.AM, MIUIPro, EPIC..
- it's rooted or not (tried Magisk, phh and yes, I tried with SuperSU as well: yes, I had spare time and I am desperately trying to find the cause and the solution)
- it's logged in to my Mi account or not
- if it's logged in to my Mi account then it's set up to sync to Mi account everything or not
- and I literally tried every combination of the above listed elements, really.. (well.. not sure if I logged in to my Mi account on MIUIPro.. but IDC by now, hope you understand why tho).
So, every time I go to Settings -> Additional settings -> Authorization and revocation -> try to disable (revoke) any of the listed apps' authorization -> wait until the end of the 10sec countdown -> tap OK -> each and every time it returns the same error message: "Couldn't revoke authorization"
So.. with all due respect, everybody: ..now what?!

First of all this is the wrong thread and place to ask. Secondly check out LBE Privacy Guard if you need a permissions firewall. I've been using it since i got my phone and it works wonders. Its the same permissions manager that MIUI.have integrated into their ROMS as well.

Srry, what's the correct place?
I use LBE but it have less features. It can't have block any permissions and some apps don't run if block some perms but they works if you overwirte data (for example: GPS position). This can be with pdroid not with lbe.
And LBE protection is active at th e moment that LBE runs if other app runs faster and start at boot completed before LBE can "use" their blocked permisions.
Thanks for your reply
The general section would be right.
Give Appguard a try. It works very well and most apps don't crash when having permissions removed. Doesn't even require root iirc.
I don't know if the website is only german for me, but the application itself is english, so the language shouldn't be a problem.
Why porting? We already have something like this:
MIUI Security (ONLY Permissions Manager). Flashable zip for ANY ICS Rom! Working fine without any issues!

Works like a charm
Installed it on my S4 and it worked GREAT. Thanks for doing this. My tablet is not one of the one's listed in on the DirecTV web site as a certified device so I can't even download it. I decided to give this a try and it works great.
Many thanks.

Yeah! Was about ready to ship the GenieGo back and let Directv know what I thought of the root check for their Android app. Works fine on my GS2 running the Jedi Mind Trick (JB2) ROM.
I requested a mod to be added to the modaco toolkit with the xposed framework
http://www.modaco.com/topic/361634-...r-xposed-framework/page__st__280#entry2144113
If Paul can add this to the toolkit, there is no need to modify the APK and we can keep the play store version installed.

It takes me two minutes to remove the root and custom rom check (as well as the other things that they check before allowing end user to use the app)
Sure he could do that, but he would have to update his code everytime the app is updated as well. (Package names change, app dev "attempting" to preform checks other ways therefore changing the code and so forth are many reasons I wouldnt think he would bother)
If you have a precaution about running an app that someone (in this case me) has modified (for any reason ) and you want to use the original application you know u can "hide root" with many third party apps, and its even possible with supersu. This way would allow you to use un altered app.
To recap, I have no problem with any additional solutions to reach the same end result. There are many ways to get the same result.
Cheers

4.3 broke a lot of apps...
That said, from a clean reboot ( simply for less cluter) run a logcat and launch app grab the failure and send it to me.
Edit:
After some quick googling thats not an app or os problem but something on "thier" side of things.
Google " error code AR/1001" and you'll find what I found .
Hi all, I read that the beta code you receive for Themer is bound to your device and ROM, and that just changing ROM on the same device would not let you use the original code for Themer anymore, and force you to contact the devs.
I actually found to reinstall Themer beta after ROM upgrade, and have it working with your original code :
- after first Themer install (with the beta code), backup Themer apk with Titanium backup
- change/upgrade ROM (I only tried ROMs with CM base)
- restore Themer from the Titanium backup (apk + data)
- upon launching Themer, you're asked your the beta code, put the code you received the first time, and voila!
Hope this helps!

All good, they claim they are working on fixing that issue...hopefully. I figured your codes will be tied into your email you know? Afterall, they require us to sign in to download themes....lol
Maybe if more people complain to them in email they will get right on it.

Hello,
Download the latest Google app. Use the 'Get Assistant' app.[Available in Playstore]. Enable root access, then click continue with the prompting windows.
It will automatically changes the 'build.prop' content as Pixel model. Then the app will ask you to clear the Google app data. Clear the cache and search history. Then reboot the device. This one should work. If the problem persists, check the system language and make it as English. Because Google assistant currently supports English and German.
Also make sure that you have enabled permissions such as Storage, Microphone etc... for the Google app.
Intro:
I tried using MIUI a lot of time before and always found it so full of apps.
So I searched around xda and compiled a list with packages to remove, which I consider was great because it was a fast and easy way to clean my device.
In the end I thought of sharing it with you, because why not? (xda is all about mods and sharing them right?)
Without further ado:
Instructions:
1) Download the file attached to this post and open it with any text viewer, I recommend notepad++.
2) Open a cmd or powershell window,
3) Run
adb shell (or .\adb shell if powershell)
su (optional depending if you have root)
4) Copy and paste the whole list into the open adb window.
P.S. AND WARNING:
You should really check what you're getting rid of, I suggest Googling every package you are not familiar with.
Also since this is a simple text file you can delete or add packages to adjust to your personal needs, I'm just dropping this as a personal template to make it easy and fast for you to debloat your device.
This is made with the Xiaomi Mi 8 in mind running MIUI, but can work on other brands and devices.
If a packeage trying to uninstall isn't there it'll just skip it and move on, so it's safe to use on any device, just not as effective.
(also of course like with any mod I won't be held responsible for any damage or misfunction that occurs, you're doing this on your own will and your own risk.)
With that being said, cheers, enjoy!
The instructions are inside the text file as well for offline usage.

I can say the same you said . Every rom/ custom rom should have only basic apps like telephone , messages , camera , settings , and one or two apps more . Others one user should install what he needs .
is it safe to delete all of the things in the list?
LITE Vesion available.
A friend of mine suggested some of the features that got removed could be useful (for some that is) and asked me to make a lite version of the tweak, so yeah, I made one for him and I'm posting it here as well.
Enjoy.
