Does anyone know how to disable the functionality where double tapping the music play button (in line buttons) calls back the most recent number? I'm used to the galaxy nexus where 2 taps would skip songs. A market app would be great as well if anyone knows of such an app. Thanks!
hi i was wondering if there is a way to change music tracks like on the iphone where you double tap home and there is music buttons to change tracks without leaving the app
like when youre playing a game and you want to change tracks,
right now i have to leave the app to change it!
and this is when there is no notification bar!
please and thank you

yeah i know that.
but im saying when im playing a game. say like shadowgun
there is NO notification bar
Depending on the music player, and the headphones, press the headphones button a few times or hold it down.
Or use something like Sensor Music Player.

Some can change the song by pressing and holding the volume buttons. Though I don't know if it works when you're in a game too or only when the screen is off.

Depending on which music player you are using, and whether you use a security screen lock or not, you can just simply lock the screen and turn it back on and:
- if you use the stock music app, there will be controls on the lock screen for you to change tracks or pause
- have screen lock music control widget enabled from the settings of the 3rd party music app you are using (if the app has such feature)
Or you can just press the home button, pull down the notification bar then go back to your game since Android can multitask
yeah that seems to be the only ways!
haha thats not great is it --'
should be something like music controls when you long press home! like music buttons in the multitasking window
Yeah.. but about what others were saying before this, those music apps that have the holding volume buttons to change tracks should work as well when you're listening to music while playing games
eg. of apps like PowerAMP or PlayerPro (which even has a "Shake It" feature)
Maybe there is a music app in de appstore..
That works with the volumebuttons, if you hold it in, they skip to an other song.. I don't know if there is an app such like this, but it might be worth looking for it in the appstore?
volume buttons works only when the screen is off..the only way with the stock player is the multitasking..simply switch between music player and the game
the shake feature isnt that useful i think...
hmm yeah seems like android is lacking in this department! its annoying to swtich out of the game just to change one song
and yeah volume button change doesnt work on screen on!
I was looking for earphones with mic and in the description it stated this-
Single button remote (Pickup call/hangup, Play/Pause, Next track)
I was wondering, how does this single button Play/Pause AND change songs?
Hi,
can anyone tell me how to fast forward when using the headphones when i double tap all it does is call the last dialled number.
I have installed headset button control trial and double tap works but not all the time.
Having same issue, guess that's just how sense is. I don't like.

I just got my phone yesterday, coming from Galaxy S3, and am having the same issue.
If no music program is running and I press the button on the remote, it starts the music program (google music) and plays a song.
If I press the button while music is playing, it pauses/resumes the song.
If i double press the button while music is playing, it stops the song and dials the last number.
If I i plug my 3 button Galaxy S3 headphones with 3 button remote into the HTC one, all 3 buttons (Previous, Next, Middle button) work.
How do I get the stock headphones to be able to skip to the next track?
I was having the same kind of issue, when double pressing the button to skip to the next track it will dial the last number called (when you end the call it does skip the track)
After researching I found this: which then made me believe the One has the same issue

I've been using the app "Headset Button Controller" and it's been working fine since
I want a bluetooth remote control. preferably something customizable. IE buttons on a remote I can strap to my steering wheel and an app where I can "define" what button presses do (preferably app specific) so play pause skip in music app for example.
a button to "toggle" between two apps
a button to "invoke" voice search so I can tap the button and then speak commands.
