Hey buds !
Here I'm stuck at October security patch.
I bought my S9 with july security patch then I manually checked for update , And I actually had a pop-up with october security patch which I'm running now and which also was the last one I recieved.
I tried with Smart switch but there is no option to update software.
Can I just download pie firmware then jump stright to it ? I mean when I find the official Firmware.
thank you
P.s I have A S9 Duos.

If you have Snapdragon it was prob a security update. Heard that Samsung was pushing update that patched root.

ATT is a snapdragon variant.
Yep im on At&t..Snapdragon. I disabled updates with Titanium Backup so I can still root, like I said there has been talk of an update that will prevent root..not sure if that is what you got.

The Verizon version did not receive this update .. still on QI5
I have the AT&T version and it looks like it got a new bootloader along with the October security updates.
Unlocked Snapdragon here still on August security update
I have an unlocked carrier Note 8 running the AT&T firmware. I just c hecked an no update from AT&T or Samsung.
Sprint update hasn't arrived yet either.
Wait, so QI5 can root/be able to be downgraded to a lower FW that can be rooted? I just wanted to make sure to not patch, or if it already is, might as well just update, lol.

If you are on offical oreo you should received the OTA already, if you are on beta the OTA update is different. Anyway is better to do a factory reset after the update, I did it. So if you are on beta your best call is to flash the entire ROM it's on the OP

I was on Oreo official, no BETA, and with the OTA the update installed as a regular monthly update. But if you are on BETA you have to wait till the update for it .You can do a dirty flash but is not recommended.
In my case after the update I did a factory reset because a lot of apps was doing funny things.
Finally recieved my ota update! While being on beta.

Stuck on 8.0.0.146 , Android 8

Hi everybody,
I just bought a refurbished P20 Lite (from official store). It was a great deal but now I'm kind of disappointed.
The phone came with Android 8 and March 2018 security patch. I was expecting to get at least Android 9 and January 2020 security patch but it seems i'm stuck with version 8.0.0.146 , Android 8 and the same March 2018 security patch.
Am I doing something wrong ?
Model: ANE-LX1 , Dual-SIM
Region: Europe
Any advise (other than returning the device ) ?

I managed to get 9.1.0.132 + Google Security Patch from 05 May 2019
Is this the latest update ? Are they no longer releasing security updates from Google ?
This is kind of disappointing. I thought Huawei is good at updates.
This phone was released in Q2 2018 and got a single Android update, from 8 to 9.1.
