So, i searched and could not find was i what looking for...
Here is what i would like:
1) PC with movie on harddisc (and for instance tversitiy)
2) stream to galaxy tab (have it working with skifta/rockplayer)
3) connect galaxy tab to tv with HDMI connection
Result --> play movie from pc on tv via wifi
O, and what would be great even greater --> use my HTC desire android phone as a remote control (like pausing and fast forward)
What do you guys think.... is this possible????
you could do that with ES files Explorer
- install ES
- select the folders you want to share on Windows
- open ES files and click LAN then MENU--> NEW--> SCANNER--> it should display your computer with the local IP as name (no need to wait for the scan to end just click BACK)
- click on the media file to open and choose stock player to read it
- you know the rest !
if a file doesnt open with a simple press, just make a long press and select "open as" and select whatever it is
not exactly what i ment.
I know how to play movies on my galaxy tab.... question is, can i play these movie also on tv with a hdmi adapter? And next... could i use my htc desire as a remote controle to use?

1. You would need an HDMI cable that you can connect to your tv and tab. But as far as I know and can find out the Galaxy doesn't have or support HDMI output.
See the specs here: http://gadgetian.com/10288/samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-specs-price-2/
It could be possible to do if you can find a HDMI mirroring app like the one I use for my eVo4g, as far as I know their isn't one that would work on Honeycomb.
2. As for using your Desire as a remote, you'd have to find a app that could control what ever media player you use, either through wifi or bluetooth. You might be able to find one on the market. You could also try one of those remote desktop apps on the market.

If your tv supports DLNA push then you can use Skifta to stream to tv without any wires.
I don't have a tv with DLNA support, so i connected my tv to pc as a secondary display and i use Skifta basically as a remote control. I use windows built in media server, it supports DLNA push on win7.

Skifta is on my tablet, i use it to browse my movie library (it's on my PC) and select play to PC (it outputs picture to my TV). Hope this makes sense, English is not my native language so it's hard for me to explain it.
Basically i sit on my couch, holding the tablet and using Skifta app to control whats playing on my TV.

You will need to purchase the HDMI dongle that samsung offers. It attaches to the bottom connector of the tab. Just like how the IPad's do.
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/galaxy-tab-accessories/EPL-3PHPBEBSTD
i just got the tab through bestbuy because it came with my new 3d smart tv. Bestbuy says "Your Samsung smart TV and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 can connect with each other for the ultimate home theater experience. Easily control your TV with your Galaxy Tab and view your Tab content (photos, videos, content from the "Cloud," etc.) on your larger HDTV screen.". Does anyone know how? lol. maybe a stupid question but i cant find it anywhere
I have a Samsung tv, serie 6 so they should be able to cooperate. I made a connection through USB cable but when I wanted to see pictures onthe tv from my tab, the tv wouldn't accept the tab. So I'm also curious ;-)
I imagine that this should be done with Samsung's 'Allshare' software, however it's not currently supplied with the Touchwiz software on the Tab.
If Allshare isn't available in the app store, then look for iMediashare or any other DNLA capable app. I'm assuming the TV is a "Smart" one, and connects somehow to your home network. Now look for a Media Link app/option on the TV. Run the DNLA app on your tablet, then run the Media Link app on the TV. The TV should see the tablet and any other media share devices that are on yor network. Pick either local or web content from your tablet, and the tablet should be able to send it to the TV.
I do this with my LG Smart TV. I'm working on the assumtion that all the Smart TVs are somewhat similar, despite being from different companies.
Good luck. It's a joy when it works.

No luck finding Allshare or iMediashare in the US market.
Samsung has a remote app that works okay, just not sure of the need for it.
Any other suggestions?
Twonky Mobile demo version works for me, although I can't say I've tried watching movies with it just yet.
Edit: Videos do play.

What phones can be airplay?
Does anybody know of a remote that can control all 3? I have all 3 devices and currently using my Note 4 to control the Roku and Chromecast but I can't navigate the Nexus Player on my phone....I can even program the note 4 to switch input devices but no it's a dead end with the NP...
There's an android TV remote app that should work with np.
Why on earth would you have a chromecast AND a Nexus player? That's like having a dvd player and another dvd player. You can cast to the nexus player.
Just get a Flirc for your nexus player, a micro usb otg cable, and program a IR universal remote for the fire tv stick (sounds funny but works, also set keyboard escape key as back or exit).
Your roku should have ir already depending on the model. Check Wikipedia search roku.
Then get a rca learning remote from Amazon.
Done deal.

oh ya
I have a roku tv a nexus player and 3 chrome casts and a wdtv box and would also like to control all with one remote. Oh wait I can. My android smart phone.
As a multifunction remote control app like Apps2Fire and Fire Installer for Android TV box/Fire TV/Android TV, also have the function as Mouse Toggle for Android TV box and Fire TV.
This video does a excellent job of showing what Cetusplay is all about.
