Hello everyone. Today I charged my phone and after some heavy usage I discharged it in 5 hours. Battery was on 5% when I put my phone in pocket. After some time I took it out and saw that Battery is on 82%. I am aware that my battery isn't great because it's pretty old device but this was really strange. Can someone explain me what happened. Thanks in advance. Here's screenshot :

I use the battery pro widget to see how my battery is performing and what is draining it. Usually the screen is the number one user of the battery. I checked a little bit ago and it said the phone was using the most battery and the cpu usage by the phone was 1 hour and 17 minutes. My last call was a 2 minutes call over 2 hours ago. Any ideas what is going o on. Getting ready to clear the battery stats and reboot.

I was in England last week and I noticed on the last 2 days my battery not only drained itself much faster than usual, but it also recharged slower. When I got back home, I noticed if my phone was plugged in, and I used it, it still lost battery! I use the original charger, one thing I noticed after my trip though, was the two "blades" we plug in were closer to each other (they weren't parallel anymore) I kind of pushed them back to place but anyone can see the blades are slightly moved
Please help me auick this is very important!
EDIT : Usually I recharge my phone from 23h to 6h45,but today I noticed it only recharged when the phone is Off, and very slowly, it only made it to 51% merely adding the sentence cost 2% of battery while docked..

Probably the battery itself is dying?
S3 should be filly charged within 3,4 hours in most.
Or you may need to recalibrate your battery?
I have been into some situation like this:
1. 10% charging, after one time reboot it goes up to 50%, just in minute.
2. Battery from 95% drops to 50% with rate of 2% - 3% per minute.
What I do: drain battery to 0% and start fully charged it into 100% and then it seems to be fine through...

Hi,
Long time lurker - the community has really helped me many times in the past. Thank you.
I now have an issue with my battery in my i9300. Phone and battery are 22 months old. All stock (updated to 4.3).
Phone gets charged every night from 10pm to 6am. Usage has been constant - no new apps added in last year.
Until 2 months ago, the phone would have 25% to 35% at the end of the day having started at 100% each morning
Then it started to drop to 15-20%. I thought - hmm - battery is aging a bit.
Then, in the bast week, suddenly, I get a max of 4 hours use, then battery dies. It recharges to 100% in one hour (I use a 10W charger) and then lasts again for 4 hours.
The battery is not bulging or showing other signs of being defective. There does not seem to be any apps that are using unusual cpu %. Phone is responsive.
My questions are:
1. Is it normal for a battery to suddenly degrade like this? I thought the Li Ion batteries degraded at a constant (20% per year half life) rate.?
2. Is using a 10W charger damaging to the battery (stock is 5W) ?
Thanks
Mark
1. Yes, two years old is ancient so replace it now.
2. Rating of charger is irrelevant, the charging circuit in the phone decides what the battery gets.
Definitely replace the battery. When I was using the Galaxy S3 after 15 months of buying it, the battery was simply horrible. It wouldn't last even half a day. I bought a new battery and it is much better.

I think that 22 months for a phone battery you charge every day is "normal"... that's why I bought a phone with a emovable battery
Hello, yesterday I bought a new battery for my G3. The battery was brought in Hong Kong for $17 and it largely seemed authentic except minor differences at the back. When I placed it inside my phone it had 56% charge left so I fully charged it to 100%.
While unplugging it I noticed it was dropping off fast, straight to 97% with barely two minutes. Then after restarting the phone it was down to 84%. After an hour and a half of usage, the battery was at 29% and it just died. Trying to switch it on it showed 0% charge. Perplexed, I went through the process again, fully charged it ... And again with barely 2 hours of usage at around 30 percent it died.
I really thought the battery was authentic and it seemed like it. I went through process to calibrate it, charging and discharging but it doesn't seem to work.
Anyone has an idea what the problem might be? Is it likely that the battery is defective or would it come good?
P.S - I have moved back home so returning isn't really an option for me.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi,
Have you ever encountered such problem with your original battery that comes with your phone? If not I believe it's not authentic or its defective battery you get.
I would advise to fully charge battery for 3 or more times full 100% and deplete to 0 i was having a litlte bit of same issue just needed to callibarate the battery
It's not a genuine battery, no big science behind it.
Either buy an original LG battery or something from a more reputable source (Anker, Zerolemon).
Hi,
My phone battery is behaving abnormally since few days. The phone goes off at around 40% battery showing a low battery warning. It does not switch on unless I put it on charge and switch it on. After switching it on it shows random battery percentage like 23% or 71% etc. The battery is also discharging fast these days.

This could be due to faulty or a degraded battery
I have had also faced this problem on my previous devices and that was bcs of degraded battery over time
Can u tell me what's ur device age and also to make sure it's a faulty battery or something u should first take backup of everything and then clean Flash miui using Mi Flash tool
Thank you for replying. My phone is of 1 year old. I can bacup & clean flash but I have too many important things on my phone that I do not have time or I can't take risk of missing something. If I have no options then I can flash. The battery quality of Redmi is very poor, my nexus tab is running fine even after using it for 4 years and doing more recharge cycles.
