So multiple models have gotten their Oreo cookie and RS988 appears to not have. Is that true for everyone else or am I alone here ?
Anyone hear something about it from a reliable source ?
Nope, nothing for the RS988. I'm not holding my breath. If it comes, great.
If we get it, we'll probably be one of the last devices to get it.

Found any way to update?

Hi,
Some really bad news for anyone that's been unfortunate enough to purchase an A7 EU version.
I have contacted ZTEUK on FB messenger directly to ask about the Nougat update and this is their exact response.
"Hi Mike, Please keep an eye out on our social channels for any information regarding updates. We do not currently have plans to update to Nougat though this may change. Thanks, the ZTE UK team."
Taking into account the amount of EU phones out there this is beyond dreadful in terms of treatment, the question is, where do we go from here? I didn't want to bother rooting the phone, but is there any option left now it's possibly not getting the update at all?
No daydream, no patch fixes, no volume fix, the list goes on!!
How do we pressure ZTE into dealing with this, failing that what other options do we have?
Mike
Haha I doubt it, these customer reps have no idea.
There has been an extensive Nougat test going on as well as confirmations on twitter etc.
G Version will get Nougat.

I hope so, that brings some comfort, really the reps should not give throw away replies like that.
Thanks :good:
Don't worry, it just furthers the idea that global organization of ZTE is totally lacking, especially for their EU customers (far behind their american ones). Nougat was announced first by ZTE Germany back in November (originally planned for end of january) and is currently undergoing beta testing as far as I know. The thing is, ZTE Germany is apparently taking care of the dev for the G version but they officially supports only german customers, even if they kinda tried to create an "european" community. Other european branches (it's the case for ZTE france at least) of ZTE seem to be only PR posting advertisement on facebook/twitter. IMO, your rep just copy pasted the basic stonewalling response to this question and has either no information whatsoever or wanted to answer politely without getting carried away.
(If anyone has more info, feel free to correct me)
G Variant will sure get the Nougat Update soon, ZTE UK should know this too dont know why you got this answer from them. But if you G Variant user, follow ZTE Mobile Deutschland on Facebook
Coming from US nougat. There's still bugs, battery drain, etc. Issues that are in the release. I'd rather be back in MM honestly. A stable and complete release would've been better instead of releasing early due to demand. Just look up the issue with whatsapp. Millions of users and they didn't notice such a glaring bug.
I can say without a doubt in my mind that the Axon 2017G will also get Nougat. They are usually a little behind the US team with releases so I imagine it will probably be sometime in March
I wouldn't be surprised if you could just flash the bootstack and modem from LineageOS thread and flash A2017U system on top. I'm totally satisfied with LineageOS, so I'm not even thinking on doing that now or in the future.
The G Variant needs more time than us because they want to fix all founded bugs and increase the quality. like musicdjm said, it will release end feb. or beginning of march. zte could Release it in the end of January but there were too many bug, because of that they started a beta test phase and postponed the Release date

Yes you can. Few of us already using the B15 N ROM on the G model. All you need is an unlocked BL and TWRP, flash the universal N bootloader, N modem for G and the B15 stocksystem all by DrakenFX.

I have the US ZTE Axon 7 (A2017U) and updated to Nougat. What is the WhatsApp bug again? I haven't noticed anything but you can tell me and I will cry in a corner once I know. :crying:
@op When everything else fails, go to change.org and create a petition. The ASUS Zenfone 2 users did that and they are apparently getting the Nougat update in July.
/xuggs
The Axon7 G Variant will directly get 7.1.1
There are lots of roms for g5 but not for se (well at least i could not find any). so yeah i want new os, Will LG G5 SE get any custom roms and/or android oreo update?

I suppose this device is not well endorsed by the community: I had a nexus5x that bootlooped twice and Lg offered me this device. In exchange.

Here is some news about LG's plans for Oreo on the G5 and the G6:
http://www.androidfinest.com/lg-g6-and-g5-android-o/
If this article is correct, unlocked G5s should start seeing Oreo available next month, with carrier models following soon thereafter.

I am not gonna hold my breath....
what do you think?
Will it help if maybe everyone of us will start complaining openly about the lack of the Oreo update?
Maybe a lot of mentions on twitter/fb on their social media will speed up the process
Hi all. Who else concerned about future security patches?? Im pretty much tired of endless android versions. I would rather get security patches. Anyone else got january security patch??? I hope this phone will get it too soon.

Cool thanks... I really hope so...
I am sick of waiting for LG to update my V20 to Oreo... I doubt it will ever happen at this point. My main interest in Oreo was the addition of LDAC built in.. Is there anyway or anybody that can port/mod just that from a build of Oreo? I would actually pay for that if it worked.

Are you talking about HfiDac?
First. Sorry for posting this before reading the rules. Should've posted in 'questions'..
Not talking about HifiDac? The Sony Bluetooth codec "LDAC".
To see if you have to correct the LG G7.
In case of buying the phone , will i still be receiving the (monthly) google security patches or will i have go for a custom rom?
Regarding the european variant models , single or ds .
tnx in advance!

Lg isn't very good with updates. Latest security update we have is from April.
If you want regular software updates,lg isn't the Phone for you.
But custom ROMs are great here.

Well, enterprise recommendation means updates atleast every 90 days...
the European H930 (single sim) has that, its usually every 2 months (even though some updates, like the january one were quite delayed, dont know why)
dont know about official OTAs for the H930DS though

There are a lot of good roms for the Phone. But you should worry about which ROMs to flash after you actually buy the phone.

Yes, it's still on the list. As @SGCMarkus points out, that means updates at least every 3 months -- not every month. Sometimes it's been faster than 90 days, but that's the requirement, as well as one major Android letter update. Pie will be that one.
The only reason V30 got on the list with Nougat was because of the "imminent" update to Oreo. Only Oreo phones could have have Enterprise Recommended status. Once we got on Oreo, then the updates have come every 2 or 3 months -- as that was when the Enterprise Recommended requirements kicked in.
Thanks everybody, u have been most helpful !

Yes, the Pie Upgrade debacle threw off the updates schedule.
LG expected to have Pie rolled out before end of June.
I googled this if the V60 would get Android 12 and/or 13. And really can't find a straight answer. Do you think we users will?

Can't say for sure really.I think 12 will be the last personally.
It's possible LG will release an update for the V50 and V60 series, but it seems as though the V50 series is at the end of its life at Android 11 or possibly Android 12 - LG did promise three years of updates for the flagship devices, I believe. Keep in mind that the V40 series only got Android versions Nine and Ten, starting with Android Oreo (version Eight)
