LG Stylo 4, Camera software upgrade? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have been having an LG Stylo 4 for a while now ands its been good, great performance, Good screen and overall just an amazing phone for it's price, but the one main issue is, the Camera. Yes yes yes Im sure we all know about LGs consistant let downs of budget phone cameras with amazing hardware like 13MP rear cameras with f/2.4, but the software washes the color out, and doesn't allow me to choose what I want, like White-Balance, from say 2K to like 8K, or ISO from 800 to 1600, all it gives me is some basic crap.
I was hoping to use Gcam with it's portrait features but all I got was a sanded down version that takes worse photos.
XCam LG was installed but doesn't load.
Does anyone know any apps that are actually good for LG phones or the Stylo 4, it has to be free.
Thanks.

Can you check your os using Aida64? Is it 32bit or 64bit? GCam portrait needs 64bit os

I'm using 32-bit sadly and rooting the phone has been impossible, I've been trying for weeks and no success! is there a 32-bit version?

I've already used this version before but is there a better version with portrait mode or any of the latest features?
I'm Currently using 4.2.035, or what I found it to be LG Q7 [32-Bit].

I don't think there is any version higher than that
Would you help me please? I need an apk system app of quick memo & popup memo. You can share it without root needed

I'm using it too, I saw a 32bit 5.1.014 version without HDR+ and I was hoping @cstark27 could enable it. It seems he hasn't thought so I've been digging for a way to enable it.

Gcam

Hi does anyone know of a working gcam mod the more features the better, but I think night mode is the main feature I'm looking for.
I'm not aware of one that does more than the stock camera app in terms of image quality. I've tried a few Google Camera versions and they all have the same problems in low light.

Yes, I have. It wasn't one of the recent versions (6.0+), though. I think it was ~5.0 at the latest.

So I tried this one:
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/gcamera/GCam_6.1.021_Advanced_V1.4.032219.1950.apk
Seems to load, doesn't crash on the F1 with exceptions to video, portrait mode and the special ones like night sight... My problem is I haven't taken the plunge to see if I can enable camera2 API on my phone, I think this is part of the stumbling block as logcat while using this app says it doesn't have permissions to do certain things while using the camera (all app permissions are allowed, something else on the back end)
If you or anyone else has gotten root on the phone and want to enable camera2 API on this through build prop, you can test and see.
I like the app, it's fast as a camera and "lens blur" works but it's not using the second cam for bokeh effects. The portrait shots are supposed to detect the subject and blur everything else (Google magic) and night sight, well, just works wonders on Qualcomm devices. Just wished someone did the same treatment for the p60 mediatek chips.
I think it's pretty important to get the latest version of GCAM running on this device. I hope there's a way. The f1 play uses a 48mp Samsung chip and the S3 pro uses a Sony Chip (supposedly better). I almost got the S3 pro but couldn't justify the extra $100 to the cost.
They have GCAM running on the Moto g7 power and Xaoimi Redmi... and it has improved the camera on those phones immensely.
Info about how to enable camera2 API

Also, here's a phone that uses the hello p70 without camera2 API enabled and this person posted working GCAM versions (most likely limited functionality). I haven't tried them because my phone is still in the mail...

Interesting. I always used OC in phones in the past but haven't tried it recently. I did have some nice detail customizations and I believe it had it's own EIS electronic image stability that can be applied over top of what comes stock (unless stock only operates through the camera app and not on by default).

The camera app in the recent system update offers an amazing night mode.
I've went through about 100 trial and errors seeing which ports worked. This one is currently the BEST one for the non-PLAY Umidigi F1. I picked this phone up for $40 as a backup phone and I've been playing with it. What a difference GCAM makes on this phone. No Night Sight though.

I'm having the same issue with this G Cam APK, and the latest firmware update. The strange thing is that the rear camera works for the Panorama, Photo Sphere and Lens Blur options but not for regular rear camera pictures. There isn't even an icon on the main camera screen to select it. Weird !
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks !

Asus Zenfone 6 Google Camera APK/Gcam Mod

Asus Zenfone 6 Google Camera APK/Gcam Mod.
Anyone with Zenfone 6 please share the compatibility with Gcam 6.1 or 6.2. This phone has near stock android and Sony IMX 586 sensor so i think it will have great gcam support. I wonder if third party camera app will be able to trigger the flip camera, for example shooting selfie with the 48mp camera using gcam.
Updated : 12/06/19 : Asus is sending Zenfone 6 to @Arnova8G2 for development https://www.xda-developers.com/asus-zenfone-6-custom-rom-twrp-lineageos/

Theoretically we shouldn't be able to shoot RAW, but from the information i've gathered we can shoot raw in stock camera app. I don't know how's the situation in 3rd party apps.
I'm worried a bit about gcam now. How will it work without full level_3 support.

Many phones also have full support instead of level 3 and gcam works fine. Including zenfone 5z.
Without raw support, (sony phone) the gcam will not work.

Dunno much about this stuff but I downloaded the Camera2 API Probe app on my Xiaomi Mix 3 just to see what the results are, and they are the same as the ones in TechTablet's Zenfone 6 video. And GCam works perfectly fine on my Mix 3. So it should work on the Zenfone 6 as well. The question that remains is, will the camera flip when switching to selfie cam in GCam? I haven't seen anyone test GCam on this phone yet.

AR effects in camera app

Hi, I was very badly surprised that the Realme XT camera app doesn't have the AR sticker effects mode, while so much cheaper oppo models like the a5 2020 (my wife's mother has it) have.
Do I only have to wait the Realme UI (now I've the coloros 6) or there is a way to have it? I have two little daughters and it's pretty funny.

All 4 cameras can work only if a gcam build is made specifically for this device. (But it's very unlikely all 4 lenses, specially the depth, to work well even so)
You can, though, have wide angle support when newer versions of gcam becomes available, as the newer pixels have wide-angle lenses.
I'd suggest you to stick to the latest stable builds as available.

Firstly, you're off topic with your display issues.
Secondly, it's the one fusion+ thread and not the g7.
Thirdly, how does "white dots on orange yellow surface" have to do anything with image persistence?
And lastly, gcam's image processing tends to have some colour artifacts, specially if it isn't built for the device on which you're using it on (more so if HDR+ is on). What you're talking about is probably the result of the same.
Please be on the proper thread and on topic next time

Thank you for helping me?. I totally forgotten that Gcam apk is from Pixel phones, and only newer Pixel XL phones have had 3 or 4 cameras dumb me xD.
I found some configuration file for my phone, and apply to Gcam from developer Nicki.
Maybe its reason because fusion plus is a newer phone and no developer is working for now, maybe in future will be supported. But for now offical update is far away. I hope that Android 11 will fix this software issue because it has great potential in camera hardware.

There's no version of GCam available specifically for the device. As of now, there's a version based on Google Camera 7.2 for the pixel devices, which works fine on the one fusion+ (that's what I'm using atleast, do note video recording on the back camera seems broken in this version). You can get it from the main thread here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/google-camera-mods/gcam-google-pixel-1-2-3-t3875663
Also, there are other ports by other Devs. If you're interested check those out and see if it suits your needs.

You won't find working 64mp on any Gcam port. You can get all lenses working and I believe a max of 48mp. That will still get you good photos. Higher megapixels doesn't always mean better pictures. I think you'd be satisfied.

I'm using Urnyx05's GCam port for some months now and am really satisfied. Still I would like to use the full resolution of the sensor to have more detail and be able to zoom in closer. Also using all the Quad Bayer features of the sensor would come in very handy. Otherwise it's just a waste of potential.

I'm using Urnyx05's GCam port for some months now and am really satisfied. Still I would like to use the full resolution of the sensor to have more detail and be able to zoom in closer. Unfortunately to use 64mp you would need to be running stock. I feel you tho, I run AOSP ROMs without Gapps, so I'm limited to just the main sensor at 16mp.

I tried that one and couldn't get even all cameras to work. Can you write a short guide on how you got the 4 cameras and 64MP main camera working please?
Could you please port stock realme xt camera . ? I am using custom rom so i want to have option to use stock camera too ! Thanks and regards

I cannot get the 4K video working at all,
it crushes & shuts down.
have you tried that?
I reported at:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83781077&postcount=2600
when change video res to 4K, it crashes and app shuts down
Dear Friends & Developers,
I installed it.
It works great except when I change the video res to 4K, app shuts down, whereas it works in full hd .
I was wondering if it can be fixed.
because I enjoy other functions of the program and I appreciate very much for the hard work.
I hope you fix it so that I could use your program rather than the phones default cam which takes 4K videos without any problem
all the best

Not going to happen. Only way to use stock camera is with stock firmware. If you want all working lenses on a custom rom then you will need Urnyx05 gcam.
Well, it is not what the OP asked for, but there are two free and open source Apps that can help with the Camera:
1. Open Camera - go into settings and enable Camera API V2. the quality of the pictures and videos are good.
2. FDcam - it allows you to use all the cameras, except for the depth camera. They all work.
Unfortunately, none of them get get more than 16Mpixels out of the main camera.
