Thanks to developers we've plenty of great ROM's available for our 2.5 year old budget handset Redmi 3S (Land). Honestly speaking during this time my device never got slower, my device is performing like a smartphone of 2018. One thing that changed drastically was battery backup.
Our device is getting newer ROM's every now & then but we've fewer kernel options available.
I request developers please create few kernels for Land.
Thanks team Land.
Look, you have to sacrifice something to get something...
invest money in buying mi powerbank... it'll save your money for another decade...
and honestly all are working for optimum of performance, battery isn't a problem...
and main reason for battery drain is google play services and google app itself... try using gms doze magisk module and tweaking kernel profiles for the time being....
thanks for listening...

Hi,
If a kernel focused on bb and lagy af did you use it. Kernels available for land are balanced. IMO having many is not better than having a good one.(Not in case of rom).

Try mioptimusone and search the forum for roq (not roqu3). I'm using this kernel and it's the best I've tried so far.
Not sure if Roqu3 is OK with me posting a link...but I hope he doesn't mind people using (and appreciating) his work:

Here is what RoQ wrote...
03/10/2012 - More patches and a new touchdriver courtesy of thachtunganh (ta-dev from kernel) on my repo found last week and forkeĆ³ (made a copy and I assume it will patch suddenly and published as well) then sent me several patches but only left me with some, of which the most important is its touchdriver which is fixed to a lower consumption of CPU, I've been testing and although the cel runs normal and does not pull as much CPU used to be before, ie it is something like that of Der_Caveman without losing fluidity, it seems very good. just flashed the latest version... I have to say I'm impressed it's the smoothest kernel I've used so far, 729/480 conservative
Indeed, almost as good as Franco kernel (this is just my opinion).
Great kernel, nevertheless. And strange that it has no large user base, at least on XDA...

Is the dev even part of this community? Maybe we should invite him to share his work here.. That way we can report bugs, or test new versions

However...Where can I find the link of the topic where Roq puts his latest kernel everytime?
EDIT: Sorry, I've found it The latest build is number 63!

Oh wait, even you said franco's is the best EVAR
So I assume the dev doesn't want to be part of this bickering debate...

Obviously I was just joking
On the same topic, I find people hyper-sensitive here on this forum...very hard to crack a joke and make a sarcastic comment...you must have seen the reaction my comments triggered in the franco kernel thread. I wonder why...

I have had this device since I was 15 years old.
I am now 17, and will return to development as soon as I finish my secondary education exams (that's June 2017).
I will be, hopefully, the last person ever to desert this precious device.

If you about porting ROM, it's not too hard while this ROM has the same chip set with this phone. In case, if you found bug after porting, this point is really hard to fix it. Therefore, fixing the bug takes a long time.

Porting ROM not too hard. Just follow this guide:

It applies if you want to port Nougat based ROM.

Thanks for the reply, @rickyyohanes626 . I'm totally new to this android development. What I was trying to say was not about porting, but about building android from source (correct me if there is a stark difference between those two). How hard would that be?

I do really appreciate your efforts for the galaxy grand 2 community, but was sad at the same time for your thread getting closed just for not mentioning the credits. But hey, I thought the community was more of a "bro"therhood. So, why consider my statements as offensive?
I know I don't even stand a chance to be up to your level of experience right now, but being a junior member here, I'm sorry if that hurt you.
I'm working on getting a Nougat themed TW ROM. And I'll be upgrading my PC sometime in the coming two weeks, so I'll start AOSP too. Lineage would be easier I guess.

It would be really hard if you find ROM that has different chip set with this phone. And also, if you wanna to obtain sources tree, you must provide a very high connection.
Another hard point is if you done port the ROM, it just not booting, you need to modify zimage (core of boot.img). In this point, you need logcat to analyze error.
I just had a doubt with regards to development on otus.
It has lesser kernels and roms compared to surnia and condor. Is this due to any hardware or interest of devs or what?
I don't think hardware should should be a problem since it has better hardware compared to condor.
P.S. this is just a question that's been in my head since a long time and therefore asking. I know there are many devs who I'm very grateful and thankful to and I in no means tend to offend anyone.
Thanks!

Please Vote in this important Poll as it is going to give an idea of which ROMs are being used the most and (approx.) by how many users on XDA.
#You should be using the voted ROM for at least 15 days, don't vote if you have been using it for less than 15 days.
#Request to add more ROMs (but I have already added most of the ROMs in the poll).
#This Poll will be live for a month to give a comprehensive picture of ROMs.

Do your own research, there are plenty of threads on ROM's for POCO. And stop shooting down the advice of people who answer your question.
