Task and Unwanted processes - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

Guys my system is constantly boosting its clockspeed like something is running on the backgroud.
Is there some program to shutdown tasks and see whats is ruining my battery?
My idle drain is above 5%/hour
Pixel experience, franco kernel, latest vendor firmware im using

[Q] SetCPU and S3

Hi everyone,
This is the first time owning a Samsung device, so the pegasusq governor is a new thing to me, I read about what it actually is on a thread but I wanted to ask to fellow S3 owners what are they using for great battery life - performance ratio?
I'm running Omega 6.0, slipstreamed loads of crap that is not needed (from the "safe to remove" thread) with Apex Launcher. I'm only using 2 homescreens, dark wallpaper, etc, the typical works to try and improve battery life.
Now the thing is, with SetCPU I'm running the default pegasusq governor ranging from 200mhz -1400mhz. Is the pegasusq governor the right choice here? Isn't it basically a variant of the OnDemand governor but Samsung proprietary for quadcore CPUs? I also recall reading a mention of S3's freezing or not waking up when it's set from the lowest underclocking point (200mhz), is that right? I've been using this for a few hours and no problems yet, but just wanted to know what are everyone elses experiences and what's the best configuration that has worked individually for you!
Cheers! Hope I complied with the rules, I did do a search but didn't find anything of this nature apart from a few separate questions!
I use the same governor, 100Mhz - 1704Mhz. No issues. Works great.
Siyah kernel is using pegasusq so i think it is the best governer there is. if you're on stock kernel or lowest underclocking is 200mhz but in custom kernels you can use 100mhz.
I have set my SetCPU to 100mhz - 1200mhz and undervolting all 18-steps to -50mv. I seldom reboot my phone but not encounter any freeze on boot
You should try tweaks for improving the battery life and peformance. Like supercharger, zipalling , random build.prop tweaks.... Etc xD but yeah use the samsungs "for quad core"
Thank you for the prompt replies everyone!
I remember with my Desire the whole development community was pretty much "set in stone" if you will, so it was really easy to choose a kernel etc.
Is there a kernel that you recommend? Is anyone using a "Screen Off" profile without any problems? If so what's the range you have it set at? That's what I was mostly scared as I remember on my Desire the lockscreen or taking calls would lag quite a bit but obviously this is a different beast altogether!
I'm also using AutoKiller Memory with Extreme Settings and some tweaks applied as well.
I use Siyah clocked 100-1704 screen on. 100-300 screen off. No issues.

I set mine to 100-600 not having any issues, when reiveng notification/phone calls doesn't lag at all. Just don't use "power saving" option.

3rd party apps don't to any good to battery life it only consumes more(for me) cause it's always running in your background which consumes memory and also battery life.
stock task manager is pretty good, been use it always. Closing all apps and clearing memory

Nah, Autokiller isnt a task manager.
Basically, Android automatically kills empty processes (etc) at specified RAM levels. It does this anyway. But on High end RAM packed devices, these values are too low to be of any use as the phone will seldom hit that low a level of free RAM.
Autokiller simply adjusts these values to be more useful for high end devices.
Actually, you don't need autokiller to do this. You can do it in an init.d script although I've not tested this on the SGS3 as I haven't seen a need.
Here is an example I wrote for my Desire AOSP ROM:
Code:
#!/system/bin/sh
echo "8192,16384,19200,23040,25600,30720" > /sys/module/lowmemorykiller/parameters/minfree
Default SGS3 is:
Code:
8192, 10240, 12288, 14336, 16387, 25600
These are for:
Foreground App, Visible App, Secondary Server, Hidden App, Content Provider, Empty App

[Q] setcpu draining battery on s duos

Hello im using s duos with stock rom. I have installed setcpu but its draining battery even if profiles are disabled. In battery statistics android os and android system consumes more battery. but when i uninstalled this app then i observed that battery performance is better.
is this happening because of stock rom or what?

Cladh of Clans battery drain

I wanted some of the developers to check why our phones get so hot while playing clash of clans. And Also the battery drain is too much!

I know right.
Sent from my SM-N910C using XDA Free mobile app
Some CPU's tend to get very hot while playing games, even the simpler games because they were clocked too high by device manufacturers. Battery drain is 'cause CPU is running on its highest clock possible so it uses most of battery juice.
Clash of Clans runs in background( at least notification process ) so that drains battery in background. To stop it from running in background : root your device(recommended) and install Greenify and then hibernate Clash of Clans. If you dont root your device, you will have to hibernate it manually with shortcut on your launcher app grid.
I am on custom rom and i already have it greenified but the battery drain is while playing the game. Now i am with Ak kernel and i i am using a battery friendly config and its ok but not perfect.

Try L Speed Revolution. It improves performance and battery at the same time, just remember to delete any previous mods and take a nandroid backup.

Anyway to get battery tweaks without resorting to custom kernels?

I would love to get the battery life profiles from the custom kernels but I don't want to install them and would like to relay to the stock kernel of my rom which is RR. For reasons that I want to avoid bugs and would want to stay updated all the time.
I found spectrum which exactly what will solve my problem but the problem is that it doesn't support the stock kernel of RR.
Stock kernel of RR support "Kernel Adiutor". Kernel Adiutor give you various useful settings.
In my opinion the first is change voltage of your CPU (for each speed).
i Undervolt all Little cores:
(Warning each cpu need different settings, this setting can not work for you)
400 and 691 mhz with 695mv
806mhz 745mv
1017mhz 825mv
1190mhz 880mv
1305mhz 915mv
1382mhz 935mv
1401mhz 940mv
1440mhz 950mv
Big cores DISABLED. (i dont have lags with this settings... i play Clash Royale and use social apps, if you need it enable)
In GPU (i dont play games except Clash Royale)
133mhz min
432mhz max
Down differential 75
Iddle wait 7
Workload 10
For test speed/voltage you need to set same min and max speed and disable de Big Cores. (Or set max speed "X"mhz and use performance governor)
low voltage
use Antutu for test or other similar app.
if work low voltage again
test
if work repeat if not raise the voltage 5 or 10 mv and test again.
DONT USE "APPLY ON BOOT" when you try different voltages.
when you have your profile save this and here in profile menu you can set it at startup (you need to be sure of your phone stability with this settings).
Equally i recommend Agni kernel 13... i use before RR oreo and now AEX oreo and im happy with this kernel, zero problems, all fine.
in this forum other users try with VULMAX but i prefer my settings in manual and not with profile (i dont know the changes in each profile). https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/themes/xgh-t3701825
You can enable ForceDoze with patch https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/themes/universalforcedoze-deepsleep-googledns-t3770350
With ForceDoze you may have problems with sync of message apps or with clock update (you can fix it in your battery settings> optimized apps)

i dont know but is really good for me.
Equally if you like stock kernels may use RR stock kernel + Kernel Adiutor without problems.

I tried Vulmax and the battery config and it made my phone really fast, literally as in the animations of closing and opening of apps became way too fast. I think Kernel Auditor would be better for me.

you can change animation speed from the developer options in the settings.. disabling animation saves a bit battery thats y it is disabled

Why do all custom roms have bad battery drain on idle?

all custom roms on this device have bad idle battery drain, latest i tried was RR oreo with DA kernel and got 20%+ overnight drain.
im asking this because laptop linux OSes dont have this problem. i've tried endless linux flavours on laptop and never had battery drain issues so what is the problem with custom roms on this device?

modified any settings for kernel?
Its because the device keeps awake at after screen off. Faced the same issue, its fixable by disconnecting the battery. Open up the back cover and disconnect it for a min. It will be fixed. Watch YouTube video to see how to open back cover.
1% - 2% overnight idle battery drain on ArrowOS Oreo + Universe Kernel + Magisk + Xposed + 80 apps.
Intelligent use of Greenify + GMS Doze (magisk module) helps alot.
Kernel Settings:
CPU: governor-interactive
CPU-hotplug: screen off single cpu-on
GPU: governor-performance (gaming reasons)

Ja, there is a app on the kernel site and nice profiles. Sysconfig patches a magisk module and delete the apps I don't use or replaced with third part apps.

not good at all. why is mpdecision missing in kernel aduitor settings? devs are not using mpdecision?
horrible idle battery drain, devs please do something about this as priority.
