I need some help, in the morning I dropped my Huawei U8150 IDEOS and since then the screen has not responded, although the hardware buttons (call and end buttons, volume control) and "trackball" is still working.
Is there a way to disable the touch screen (I can't get pass through it with the hardware buttons) while I find a way to fix the screen?
I'm using CM7.2, I was also wondering how to remap the call and end buttons
Thanks in advance
Hi guys,
I'm using CM 10.1 nightly on my I9300, the thing i don't like is that, the back light on the hardware buttons are light up when ever i touch on the touch screen or the HW buttons.I don't need that, i only need the back light when ever i touch on the HW buttons only not on the touch screen.
Is there any way to do that.disabling the backlight from the advanced menu makes the back light turn off completely(it will not turn on even if i touch on the button).
If any one out there with any info, PLEASE HELP...

There is no option for that in advanced settings...the Backlight option in that only disable or enable it fully...no option to light up only when touch the buttons.
right, I misunderstood what you wanted. Don't think there's a way

I don't see the purpose in these. Now you'll have two sets.
So true, but in his defence maybe he's remapping the capacitive keys. I do remapping but don't use any on screen keys, I run full screen all the time.
My purpose is to disable the existing softkeys and enable on screen buttons.
Main aim is to get multitasking button and menu button along with back and home keys.
Currently using HTC one M8. But not so happy with the screen size downgrade from N3 to M8.
So bought Max and planning to make it more like M8 with sense six and on screen buttons.
Since the screen is wider I can afford to keep 4 buttons there.

I can relate to you rationale, similar thinking just go about it in a different way.
My running immersive mode exclusive and holding in left hand mostly, I've map the capacitive keys to volume up & down, (longs of TV viewing). My volume up is menu. Volume down is recent. Power is back-double click to home.

I use Gravity Box xposed module to enable immersive mode only.
Default the Back button and Home button, are now my default volume down and volume up respectfully., so when I have the phone on the side watching video easy to reach volume up & down.
Since I came to the Max I use proximity for screen on/off. (I was use to the w2w but not available currently on the Max)
Pm sent for a how to edit the Keylayout
Hi Jerrycycle,
Out of topic : do you by chance know how to disable the vibrator module itself of Max ? Via build.prop or some available custom kernel...
I don't use vibration and I cannot control vibration of HTC devices completely via settings option.
For example I can't disable it for :
1. Carrier sent messages in prepaid sim.
2. Disabling vibration feedback on call works with some numbers doesn't work with some numbers. It's flakey.

PM me. I have an idea.
What I would like is to have capacitive buttons to not work an turned off and only have Nav bar buttons. I would really like the pa phone layout options to like phone phablet and tablet set up

I think is possible to disable the capacitive button with edits to the keylayout, as for the phablet mode, I think (the with KitKat) Google removed the coding needed for it to work.

Doesn't work on T6UL international models !!!
There is no line with qemu on /system/build.prop file. Even if I introduce one, after reboot the line is removed !!!

---------- Post added at 07:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:53 AM ----------
I had a problem making build prop mods stick till I went S-off.
couldn't find option to turn on call connect vibration. is there a way to turn it on without rooting my device (through Adb)
also option of capacitive buttons is missing. Any way to turn the lights of capacitive buttons always on?
Dear @shranav
I don't know about the call connect vibration, but for the capacitive buttons SAMSUNG removed this option and the only way to Enable/Disable is through power saving option
[duration can't be changed]
Regards
I have att version and I have call connect tone as well as vibration on/off toggle options. I went through dial pad ->phone settings

Hi all, my power button has went in but it's still pressible but very hard.
I am using stock rom without any root.
My warranty has already completed, I need a nice app which does the job of power button.
Double tap to wake is not working properly in my mobile because i have installed a temper glass for my screen.
I am currently using Gravity Screen app which is great to use. But i have one doubt, using proximity sensor for prolonged period will it damage them or there is no problem.
Or else are there any other app that will do the job of power button without using the proximity sensor.
Thanks in advance for your help
You could try Greenify, and add a short-cut which will greenify-and-sleep (turn off) your phone
turn off is not a problem how to wake up the phone without using power button

Use xposed and any xposed module. U can turn ur display on while pressing volume up or down button. I think gravity box have this feature..
And also using a modded SystemUI with 5 Button navigation bar or Invisible power button will give u access to power menu..

Download Power toggles from playstore. It has some good features that access to Power Button. No root needed. But for turn display on without root no idea mate

Using proximity sensor won't damage your device, but I think that gravityscreen prevents phone to going to sleep mode.
If you have root you can use xposed modules to set volume buttons to wake up your device.
[edit] I've just read that you don't want to mod your device. So you have to keep to gravityscreen.
