Hi
I'm using a honor 10 with the lastest software update,
9.0.0.159( patch 01). After some days, I realized that cell standby uses battery alot. Is there anyone suffer the same problem.
I put two sims ,one of them is disabled.
Thanks.

Something really weird. Mine is 4.8% vs the 37% of screen time. Do you have poor network connection at places you stay most of the time?

Thanks. Maybe because of that. Now I let it out of my mind. After disabled Huwei launcher, I'm happy with Nova launcher and Fluid gesuture navigation. The finger print now works as home button as I thought at the first time I saw the phone.

Poor network is the reason just stay in 3g/2g and check the usage charts.
I m facing same issue from last few days

I too have similar battery charts for network for me the reason is poor network and if I am in a good network region then the usage graph will be normal.
I think it would be good if you compare the graph of the usage while in stable network region or check only 3g network.
I am facing the same... My old Honor 9 lost like 1% or max. 2% of battery during the night (~ 8 hours, 4G network with mobile data on, sync on). My Honor 10 (9.0.0.159(patch 01)) eats like 6-8% with the very same setup (same apps installed, same power management + sync settings). According to GSam Battery Monitor, cell standby eats 0.5-1%/hour... I tried to switch the network to 2G only, but the battery drain was very similar!
Ok i got some solution here just go to settings, wireless & network, mobile network, more and turn off carrier aggregation that's it now my battery drain is not that much due to cell stand by just try and share your experience

For EMUI 9, It should be Settings- Wireless and Network- Mobile Network- Scroll down to last option as More- Disable Carrier Aggregation.

Hi,
is there a widget similar to the one preinstalled on the defy to toggle wifi/gps etc. ?
The white/ coloured ones don't fit my theme.
THX
Widgetsoid is the best toggling app I've come across. It's got a huge number of toggles and options you can customize, including the colors and themes of the toggles, so I think it would be perfect for you.
2G/3G widget
When trying to switch from 2G to 3G or back Widgetsoid only sends you to the operator menu where you have to change the network type
Any other widget that can do the switch on a single click (as all the other widgets work)?
Wigetsoid ftw.
extended controls
Check out switch pro
It works pretty well and has quite a few options!

Can I ask a really stupid question? What would you want that for?
The only thing I can think of is if you are often in an area where either the 3G or the 2G data connection is often - but not always - messed up.
And that can't be too often (this actually did happen to me this summer: _some_ evenings my 3G data connection would just die and/or not let me log in. Then it was pretty handy to be able to force phone/dongle to just use 2G).
Or is it just for convenience? Use 2G for calls/standby (save battery, right?), flick on 3G when you want to surf or sync?

If your data connection dies somethimes you should use 2G and 3G at the same time. ( There is optin in data settings: use only 3G or use only 2G, or use both.)
Yes, 3G is a big component like Wi-Fi so it uses your battery a lot. But I use program which turns off all internet connections while screen is off. It saves way of my battery juice. But if you want always sync your programs put there a widget on your homescreen which is shortcut to data setting and when you know that you'r not using your device for next couple hours, just change from 3G to 2G only.
I hope this helped you

Slightly OT (mods please don't hit me, I'm a stoopid noob):
My problems this summer was before I had my lovely shiny Defy, and they were really tricky in that they only affected 3G data, and only sometimes (but regularly enough that I complained, and got a nice reply that they were working on it and that I had identified the problem correctly - no "have you tried this or that" -bull****).

That's a good way to save, but I think 3G (voice-) standby also eats more than 2G standby. At least a friend of mine who is a hopeless chatterbox said that turning off all 3G stuff in her never-used-for-data phone almost doubled her battery life - and it isn't like she is ever in an area with marginal coverage, downtown Helsinki all the time.

I see the H icon, it's HSDPA. Drains battery like a Pro. Try do deactivate when you don't use. Deactivate sync, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, everything.
The 1st icon is Operator Signal, so it's HSDPA+Normal operator signal (HSDPA is the villain)
The 2nd is the idle phone, it consums less battery than HSDPA. So, your phone is consumpting lots of battery. Maybe it's the battery!
you might get rid of the problem, if your manufacturer releases an update, as the draining looks like missing deepsleep

Yes, it´s HSDPA. But I need it on, because I want to be online. The rest of the consumers are allways turned off: GPS, WiFi & Bluetooth.
I don´t think it´s the battery, because it happens since the battery was almost new. The key here is to know what the phone is doing when executing this 2 tasks. As you say, 1st icon= "HSDPA". OK. But the 2nd= "idle phone", and this bar should be shorter.

Thanks for the help, but I don´t have any manufacturer ROM or stock ROM installed. I have a Cyanogen ROM (which is one of the stablest and more tested ROMs in the market).
Ever since I installed JB (4.1.1) I have noticed a decrease in life. You probably heard this story before.
The native Battery consumption app shows Android OS uses most energy, followed by Device Idle.
So I installed BetterBatteryStats to have a look.
These screenshot is from this morning. Left the phone overnight untouched (from 12 am on).
Note:
My settings are the same as they were before the JB upgrade. And I use the phone the same way.
No Data Connection?
Why does it seems to be looking for a signal? Is that cell signal? I am in full signal area.
I use T-Mo and my area gets HSPA+.
I have Settings > Wireless and networks> Mobile Networks > Network Mode set to GSM/WCDMA (Auto Mode). Leave is as is?
The second most energy consuming is WiFi. I always left is on before the upgrade. It probably always used this much but now it's worse?

Your android OS is consuming waaaaaaay to much power it should be between 7-12%. I'd reflash stock ROM and go from their buddy. Also, wipe your battery stats.

Thank you for responding.
What falls under Android OS?
I use a live wallpaper (Alive Wallpaper in the Play Store from http://alivewallpaper.co) and the screen is off when I am not using the phone.
Is the video wallpaper using power even when the phone is sleeping (or supposed to be)?
Edit: how do I reset my battery stats in the native app? There is no contextual menu.
Its just the processes that fall within android OS....stuff you have no control over

Do you did a battery recalibration? After flash a new ROM is a must.
Battery calibration using this method right?
1. Use your phone till it shuts off
2. Before charging it turn it back on and do it again.
3. With the phone off plug it in and recharge it overnight or atleast 6-8 hours.
4. Turn it on and and use Battery Calibration - by NéMa.
5. Use the phone till it dies again and then recharge and use phone as you normally would.

No, I have never done this.
Thank you for pointing it out.

here is the logcat from my phone. 8hours overnight and down to 41%!

Disable Google now, will save loadsa battery

Rather than disabling Google Now. Do this
Disable Maps, Whatsapp, Facebook. They all run in background. Use App Quarantine to quickly enable disable when issue required.
Enable mobile network location access.
Also restrict background data of apps that ate high in usage which could cause wake locks.
Google now knows where you are without Maps running, just NetworkLocationService under Google Services in running apps.
Use other battery conserving precautions in conjunction.
You could potentially go for days depending on your usage

Hello, everyone!
With the new update on Android 6.0 I was pretty curious to see how the new feature "Doze" will work.
Unfortunately it seems that it's not working for my device.
Can you please give me some advice to figure out a solution?

I tried changing the WLAN frequency to 2,4 GHz, but nothing happened.
The battery only drops very slowly when deactivating WLAN... But that can't be the Doze feature, isn't it?

Here's an app that let's you adjust your doze settings. Maybe you can use it to make your N9 doze sooner and longer.

There is a known issue with DOZE and WIFI on the Nexus 5 that affects some but obviously not all.
I had the same problem on my N5 that was resolved by completely disabling WIFI.
I don't have any issues with Doze on my N9 but I do have wifi set to off when screen is off and device isn't plugged in so maybe that's an option as well.

That second option sounds interesting. So you know if this setting (WiFi set to off when screen is off) affect apps like Spotify? It should not interrupt the playback via Spotify when screen will be off.
I'm asking because I can't try it at the moment. A friend of mine got my tablet until Sunday...
Sent from my HTC One (M7)
It's in the advanced wifi settings and it's actually called "Keep WIFI on during Sleep" and the options are always, only when plugged in and never.
I actually went back and looked at the pic you posted and it looks are though you got 4+ days of life (uplugged around Nov 4th and looks like it is around Nov 8th) and you are still at 28%.
I don't think there is anything abnormal assuming the tablet was indeed in use periodically during that time.
My tablet, when NOT in use at all (sitting in a drawer) will consume around 3% battery over a 15 hour window. But that can drastically change if I use it at all during that time.

Im getting around 8 hours sot which is great but i noticed that when it's on stand by, the battery drains with 2%/hour. On my note 10+ it was 0.5%/hour. So I tested a lot of things and I found out that when i turn on airplane mode (wifi on or off doesn't matter) that it drains only 0.4%/hour. It's even better than the note 10+. So it must be caused by the cellular but I don't know how to fix it. I didn't even use mobile data. Does anyone know what to do?
Try this. And force 4G mode

Welcome to the advertising and spyware driven wasteland of modern tech. I disabled background cellular data for a ton of apps that have no approved business using it, and that cut the drain significantly. Intermittent cellular data also consumes more power in NSA 5G mode.
I still can't block Sony's Game Engine and it's moving hundreds of MB without being turned on.
I use naptime, I tested it to night. Phone spent %6 for 8.5 hour.
I found the solution. I have don't disturb option and data saving ON. In don't disturb option i exclude some apps and all calls and messages because I need them. So I only get notifications from apps i want to. The data saving app limits apps from using internet in the background. With this i get 0.4% battery drain on hour with cellular and wifi.

I remember few xperias ago it was taking 1-2% of battery for entire 8h night.
What is happening with new xperias now
Don't tell me 0.4%/h is good result with all those restrictions. This should be without restrictions.
With this latest update the battery drain got worse: 2% per hour. I have tried as they have commented here to use the data saver, now I am in 4G (5G, 120hz refresh off) but the only way to stop this drain is to activate Stamina mode (Which restricts the functions too much). In stamina mode the off screen general consumption is 0.3%. and I don't use games, only messages and occasionally Twitter.
I have also tried Factory reset and Repair from the Xperia companion but the results are the same.
What is the point of having all these functions: 120hz , 5G, if we cannot use them? We can't even leave the phone on standby because it consumes more than it should.
Thank you guys!

Root, debloat, and install Freaks custom kernel, greenify rogue apps that you still need etc. The drain will get better!
