Hi all,
Before I get into the issue I just want to say that I am new to this site so sorry if I do something wrong...
So I have a galaxy s2 (GT-i9100T - Australian version) and I am trying to install a custom Kali Nethunter Chroot which requires KitKat 4.4.X. After searching for ages (it seems there isn’t much support for the s2 in 2019!) I finally found a KitKat ROM. After flashing it with CWM, my poor old s2 was soft bricked! Luckily I made a backup before so I got it back... but I was wondering if there was a way to flash KitKat successfuly...
I’m pretty sure it’s possible on my device so I don’t think it’s hardware...
I have a feeling i also need to update the Kernel for it to work... if this is the case are there any KitKat kernels for this device that you could recommend?
My current Kernel is 3.0.31
Thanks in advance,
Max
For kitkat, there are CWMs for android 4.1.2 which are compatible with it and some are not.
get one compatible here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/cwm-kit-kat-compatible-t2546597
It is not kitkat, but the old stock roms are here https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s-/GT-I9100T/ and not free. I think the i9100 and i9100T are the same, but the T is for australians.
what you can do is google the names of these roms and try to find a valid link in 2019.
then you need the australian modem which were here http://veyka.co.uk/sgs2/radios/ but I have a local copy and can give you them
Here is the way to install stock 4.1.2
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/i9100-useful-fixes-lineageos-14-1-t3575340
and root
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/how-to-root-stock-recovery-t1994544
and install twrp 3 with 4.1.2 ????
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77492624&postcount=106
when ROm 41.1.2 is installed, you either get only twrp 2.8.1 or some philz_touch_6.48_CWM recoveyr, or you go with an ISOREC kernel [like DORIMANX here https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...erivatives/kernel-dorimanx-jb-4-1-2-t3106241] +ISOREC twrp ...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/help/how-to-install-twrp-straight-samsungs-t3528581
then you stay on 4.1.2., or kitkat, or LOS14.1

Hi,
i was using Mokee 4.4.4 and since a few weeks I'm using Mokee 5.0.2
It is a rom like CM12 but with some customization, not as many as AOKP but still more than in CM12
It is multilangual and as stable as cm12
It was updated recently : http://www.yirom.com/rom/index/344
did someone already download it ? If yes is it possible to upload it somewhere else like mega ?
Thank you in advance
I'm running the 23/3 version of Mokee 5.02 as of a few hours. So far so good!
Does dual sim works well?
And battery consumption is similar to 4.4.4 RC7?
Did you detected any bugs?
Is it stable enough for a daily device?

I'm using the previous version (1st march) and I used it daily
i don't use 2 sim cards.
I had 1 reboot (not a wished, it was because of a crash) in nearly one month

The previous version dual SIM worked very well. I'll know if the dual SIM will work well for the new version later this week as I will be travelling.
Yes I'm using it for a daily work phone as I rely on it. Thou I have my ultra-stable iPhone 6 as my personal phone/backup :victory:
can someome upload it ?
EDIT: Someone post a mirror in other topic
I used this one : http://www.gamefront.com/files/24894999/MK50.2-nx507j-201503230233-UNOFFICIAL.zip
I think I get more spontaneous reboots with this new version than with the last version. However, it could be due to the memory leak issue all Android Lollipop phones have and isn't fixed until 5.1
Hoping to see Mokee 5.02 upgrade soon to 5.1 and integrate native dual SIM support...
Hello, I like the mokee rom,
If you have the file MK50.2 or more, please post it !

This has been confirmed in several posts on some of the Chinese bbs. Apparently, someone has released a temporary fix; although, I haven't tried it yet. I agree, I'm having the same problem. Additionally, it vibrates for everything. I currently have it set to vibrate only on phone and SMS, yet it does for everything and I cannot find out how to make it stop.

I didn't noticed this kind of error
but I admit this is because of my config => my phone does not vibrate and it is my xiaomi MiBand who vibrate for specific notifications
does anybody have a custom recovery that works with android 5.0 on z7 mini.
I have stock 5.0 installed and wanted to flash the newest mokee. but when i want to make a backup through the old mokee cwm, but it always says "cant mount data".I would thing thats because of the changed partitions.
Anyway, is there any (non-chinese) recovery that i can use with stock 5.0?

Here in the z7 mini rom thread on post 781 (top) is a link to TWRP 2.8.5.0. However, I don't know if the new mokee works after flashing the nubia version of 5.0 because I don't think (someone can correct me) the mokee uses unified storage yet. Can someone verify this?
Thanks, trying TWRP right now.
So anybody knows if i can flash Mokee 5.02 after flashing Offical 5.0 with the new kind of partitions?

I did not tried it right now as i'm still discoverng this android 5 by nubia...
i just tried it 1 min and can already say that I may switch to mokee soon (I'll try the nubia rom 1 week I guess..)
the UI feels slow
I don't like the nubia theme
and beside of that, the French translation f(cuoco92 rom) is partial and canadian only (other timezone, other clock format, other keyboard layout...)
nubia's rom seems more unstable than mokee (from the first comments I read on cuoco92 facebook page)
it is also very BIG (double the size...)
If you are afraid of bricking the phone, you can also use the stupid chinese tool to install again kitkat on the phone, then install again mokee
but i guess (not sure !!!! ) that it should be possible to install mokee without doing this pain in the ass trick :/

No, you cannot. See this thread on the Nubia forum. CM12 and Mokee are still technically considered 4.4 because they do not use the unified storage. You will most likely brick the phone if you attempt to flash it. You have to first use the Nubia updater to go back to at least 1.82, then you can use CM12 or Mokee.
Hello,
i recently bought a smartphone from Ali.
It's a MPIE M15 with MTK6595 (CPU-z is agree). Here's the specs :
Android Version : 5.0.0
Baseband : MOLY.WR8.W1315.MD.WG.MP.V43, 2014/09/17 10:10
Kernel : 3.4.67 [email protected] #1
Build Number : A100-HYDY 20150627-155331
Custom Build Version : 1435391497
Hardware : mt6595
After test, it's already rooted, i can access to Android Recovery.
The problem is that the installed rom is a Chinese Android version.
i want to install the factory Android Lollipop, but i cant find any version for my phone.
CyanogenMod installation via recovery have a OTA error..
So with my specs, is that possible to run another rom, like the Official Android (5.1?) and how to do it?
Thanks for your answer
Update
I understand that i have to install a custom recovery, but now i have a new problem..
MTK Droid Tools says the hardware is fake in Kernel or Firmware rolleyes not corresponding to the phone..
How to format all the phone, i want the Android Official Firmware on it, how to do that please ?..
OK MTK Droid Tools recognize my phone now. I do the backup for a custom TWRP recovery. if anyone know a link the original image of android .zip, thank you to tell me..
i continue :cyclops:

Please write if you find the program Im interested in purchasing that phone, but don't want to learn chinese
By the way, how that phone looks like in real life? All options works normally?
Hello, after two days working on the phone, i'm almost there.
First, this phone is faking his own components.
It's sold for a MTK6595, in fact it's a MTK6572. Same for Android, it's KitKat, not Lollipop. Not sure about the RAM (maybe 2Go). 1 virus app (AVG). Chinese stuff installed. I bought it 85$ from Ali (i understand now^^). The Camera is sh**, really! (but photo is not a prob for me).
Im not an experimented dev, the phone seems to be block somewhere, it's very hard to launch a custom recovery. I extracted the Stock ROM with MTK Droid Tools.
Finally, I install a custom recovery after a day of search, the Carvil Touchscreen and make it stable for the mPie. Now i want to install a Custom Rom on it, after replace the boot.img from Stock to Port, i have to modify the kernel, i will see..
If i managed a custom rom to get worked, i will post a tuto, if someones are interested
i continue :cyclops:

If anybody got scammed with the Mpie M15, i backup my device 10 times, i have a stock rom for
How to install a genuine kernel to a MT6572 (MT6595 is fake) ?
Thanks
Hello. I also bought the phone. now we have to change the firmware. if you have the opportunity to specify where to get the firmware for this phone?
Hi all,
I have Note 3 from china (SM-N900)
the build.prop file :
ro.product.model=SM-N900P
ro.build.display.id=KTU84P.N900PVPUDNK4
ro.build.version.incremental=N900PVPUDNK4
the base band version is : N900DDUEBOB1
the pb that is kies/kies3 or smart switch can't detect my phone (usb debug turn on)
adb devices -l : this command work fine
and odin3 detect phone.
I want upgarde it to 5.0, can any one help me?
also can i install this sock firmware N900XXUEBOE3_N900ODDEBOB2_INS ??
Best regards
If I understand what you have stated, you have note 3 from china. With a operating system of Kit Kat NK4 (Sprint ) with a baseband from Lollipop 5.0 ( India version) based on the info I got here http://androidromupdate.com/galaxy-note-3-sm-n900-stock-firmware-from-official-lollipop-update/ . I don't think you can install that firmware as it is for a Exynos based processor ( international ) Note 3, the Sprint Note 3 has a Snapdragon processor. However if you do have a Exynos processor then here is one way on how to do it http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/n900-one-guide-t3252033 installing the Xposed app is optional. This answer is based on the assumption the device is domestically unlocked.
thanks for your reply,
so why kies/kies3 and smartswitch can't detect my phone? there is no notification in status bar.
Did you try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBNclp5LfR8 . . .

You could also try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2479557&page=2 . . . read post #15
i think i found the problem, my phone contain wrong rom
when i see my model under battery is : SM-N900, SSN :N900GSMH
i use anTuTu benchmark application CPU model : samsung exynos 5420
imei.info give me this : SAMSUNG N9005 Galaxy Note 3
Ok that is an unlocked international note 3 based on the info here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2574886 it can be used on all carriers. It has the Exynos 5 Octa-core processor. So I think your right its not recognizing kies because the wrong OS is installed on the device, that OS is for a snapdragon processor. To answer your original question, yes you can install N900XXUEBOE3_N900ODDEBOB2_INS based on the info here http://androidromupdate.com/galaxy-note-3-sm-n900-stock-firmware-from-official-lollipop-update/. . . once you get the right OS installed it should recognize kies.
thank you very, i have rotted my phone and install TWRP, and install this rom STOCK_DEODEXED_N900PVPUEOC5 (from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/development/rom-t3132662 ), its baseb sprint rom 5.0 , now kies recognize my phone, i have two questions :
1- can i install Galaxy Note 3 (Exynos) rom 5.0 ?
2- i want add base.band for europe, how can i do ?
Best regards
Yes you can install lollipop 5.0 ( Exynos ) on your device. You would have to go to the "Samsung Galaxy Note 3" forum and try to find a version of lollipop 5.0 for the country you need it to work in. That lollipop rom has to be in a flashable zip file that you can place on your sd card, then boot into recovery wipe system, cache, and delvik-cache only then install ( flash ) the OS zip file, you won't lose root.
If you can't find a version of lollipop 5.0 in the XDA forum then go here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N900/ . . . You will have to register with sammobile its easy and free. They have every country lollipop 5.0 there in a stock original unrooted zip. You will have to boot into download mode and odin flash this Lollipop 5.0 OS, flash it TWICE to make sure your device back to original stock OS. It will take back to stock original like you just bought the device. From there you will have to install TWRP and root again, for more info click on Samsung note 3 rom flashing basics in my signature below or click here http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/general/samsung-note-3-rom-flashin-basics-t2896440 . . .
I have a note 2 that I haven't used for a couple of years but now I am going to europe for a week and wanted to use it in europe. It currently has clean room (I think) 4.8 which is around 2 years old. Then the guy who was updating it moved on to another device and a while later I upgraded to note 4. I thought about resetting the device and just updating to latest verizon rom but then I thought I would post this question and see if there is still a maintained good room for the note ii. My intention is to only use it when travelling in europe and backup for my verizon phone.

As a side question if I do do a factory reset and then update to verizon rom will it be permantly locked (bootloader) ? Or has that been addressed in the past couple of years ?

There is no (can't remember what it's called) floaty air menu thing but the pen works as a stylus. I haven't tried it in an app to see if the pressure sensitivity works or not.
ok thanks.
i'm sure this is a loaded question... mainly because it will depend on what you want from the ROM..... for me:
Be sure not to flash Stock MJ9 Firmware, it will lock your bootloader. You can still root.. but no custom roms (i have read about safestrap flashes, but do not know much about it)
I know there is also the ND7 firmware (4.4.2) but i'm not sure if that has locked bootloader and/or rootable...
For ROMS, i have tried:
Alliance ( Touchwiz ) (4.4) and (4.3)
Lots of Customizing
Built on Stock Firmware so S-Pen and other stock apps work
Tried because I wanted as close to stock as possible and take advantage of all the Samsung Gimics but still able to customize
CM 12 / 13 (5.1 and 6.0)
Classic version of AOSP
Miniumal Customizations
Tried because CM has always been the leaders in development.. typically stable.
OctOS (6.0)
More customization
Great developers and stable
Have gone with in the past on other phones since they have lots of features and quick updates and community.
SlimKat (4.4)
TONS of features
Slim down and fast
Have used in the past since its simplified and has lots of features
XenonHD (5.1)
Lots of features
Runs quick
Using this one at the moment because it seems to have most of the features i want and still fairly stable and quick.
********************** S-PEN WORK AROUND ****************************************************************************
I know I wanted the S-Pen features.. and first I had downloaded this to work with the AOSP Roms:
CM S-Pen Root Add On - S-Pen Detection / Keyboard AutoSwitch / ScreenShot
I now use this one:
Spen Command
Download - https://www.facebook.com/spencommand/
does cost $5.25 - but has much more features (similar to stock) but also gives more (from Note 4 and 5)
it also gives custom features like (custom cursor, eject and attach sounds, auto open / close apps, etc..)
hope this helps..
Btw, Cyanide started having battery life issues for us so I ended up installing XenonHD and my wife has been happy with it. Jaws' post reminded me to update here!
The quesiton wasn't intended to be 'loaded' and I shoudl have been more precise. I was looking for a touch wiz rom that was a bit newer then what i had. As it turns out I've already taken my trip so I've powered off the unit (though I should probably still update it). The actual note 2 I is already running a non-verizon touch wiz based rom (the reason for touch wiz is mostly the pen but personally I don't find touch wiz that awful).

what was your reason for picking XenonHD (5.1) over OctOS (6.0) or CM (6.0) ?
Just before I left town (6 months ago?) I did find a 5.x tw rom for the note 2 but I can't find it now. Might have been a work in progress. Someone had taken samsung code and thrown in the verizon drivers but maybe I am mistaken. Anyway I doubt I will use my note 2 again; the radio in it is quite dated now (for verizon); and my note 4 is already 2+ years old. It was a nice phone; first real smart phone I enjoyed (the ones before it had no battery life or cpu performance that made them tolerable). To be honest when I used the note 2 this spring during my trip it felt nearly as good as the note 4; but back home it is missing some key frequency which was the original motiviation for upgrading tot he note 4 in the first place.

oh got ya! yeah I have seen a lot of good things from the Note 4.. ( reliable, unlockable bootloader, etc.. ) maybe someday when I get back on my feet and some extra $$$ i can consider upgrading.. but for now.. i'm just going to use the gift God gave me from an awesome member from this site @grimloktt :good:
I bought a 7" tablet from a retail store, but it won't update to a newer version of android using the update options on the device.
It appears to have a custom chinese version at the moment.
Can anyone help me update this table via adb ? it has an upgrade via adb option in the recovery boot screen.
i bought mine with lollipop on,so it stand to reason they have the same specs,so 5.0 can go on it

Thanks for the reply, do you know if there is a guide on how to do an update for this device? Sorry when it comes to these types of problems, i'm not always sure what steps to follow
the thing is its a mtk device so you gonna need 3 tools apps for pc and files
firstly you gonna need the the lollipop file to flash, where to get that i have no clue( i think its packed differently than my samsung cm12 files i work with.then you gonna need the flashing software for mtk devices and your gonna need bootloader unlocked and some drivers for your OS.I fixed a mtk device a few months back and i do have all the files names somewhere.
1-mediatek vcom drivers
2-scatter file(device specific)
3-lollipop img file
4-mtk droid tools
guides are on this site and google, thats how i fixed a bricked pixie2 phone
