Hello, yesterday I got my new Redmi Note 3. After hour or so using it, installing apps, adjusting settings and such I locked it and a minute later it didn't turn on (last time I checked the battery was around 30%). I've tried a lot of things: connecting it to my PC, holding every combination of buttons (just power button, just volume down, just volume up, power+volume down, power+volume up, I haven't tried only the volume up+volume down combination). I've also left it charging over the night using my Galaxy s3 mini charger (I live in Europe so I can't charge it here with provided charger) and still nothing, literally no reaction. Then HonorBuy's suport sent me an email that says I have to remove the sticker from the battery, it wasn't until they realised that the battery is non-removable that I have to close the back cover. Then they told me that I try charging it on the computer for at least an hour. Will that help considering that I've already charged it normally the whole night? Or do you guys maybe have some other idea what might be the problem?
I forgot, that hour or so when the phone actually worked, worked perfectly.

Original Note 3, original rom. It just died and I can't get it to work. no reaction from phone.

When I had a bad flash a couple a weeks ago my RN3 was totally dead like yours..

I also got the same problem today...but i mamaged to fix it...Firstly hold vol down and power button...the device will boot into fastboot mode ...secondly after entering into fast boot mode...hold volume up + power for 10 seconds....now your phone will reboot ormally...Thats it...No big deal...
I had the same problem right after I connected the phone with an aux- it died and started heating up. I tried all the above suggestions except the reboot because I didn't want any data lost. All I did was put it in rice for 10 minutes, even though I knew rice is meant for phones when they've got wet. After 10 mins, I pressed the power button and it worked!

The same problem is happening with me after I tried to restore a TWRP backup.
I can't really enter fastboot as phone is not charging.
I'm having the same issue with my Redmi Note 3 phone. Just opened it from the box, charged a bit and turned it on. Everything worked except when I turned it off again to charge it faster and later tried to turned it on.
The phone is now completely dead, no charging screen, and it's slowly heating up. Is this a manufacturing error or can I do something to fix it?

This happened to me too. I think I factory wiped in twrp and went from cm13 to miui then it stopped charging.
No amount of flashing fixed it. Fast boot, EDL nothing worked and xiaomi won't help.
I came across only few people that had this but they seemed to suggest some partition being corrupted going from CM to miui. I couldn't find details about which partition though, not very substantial claims.
I read somewhere that it could be a bug of the version of a specific TWRP, but without sure.
In my case, I flashed Xiaomi.eu with success on CM, and after that restored again CM.
CM -> Xiaomi.eu -> CM
I sent it to a (unofficial) repair center and they just flashed the ROM on my phone. Probably using pin test or something similar.

I tried all of that. I had about 80% battery when I noticed it's not charging so I had plenty of battery to flash things. I tried anything and everything that was suggested to me in the xiaomi forums but nothing worked.
Did you send it to an official xiaomi service center?
No. I just sent it to a local generic phone service center. I imported mine from China without warranty.

Well that gives me some hope. Where are you? In the UK the phone is rare so I'm worried that they won't know what to do with it.

I'm from Portugal and it is also rare her but they solve it in a few days with just a small price. Try to find a specialized smartphone repair center near you as it looks like a small issue.
I have purchase new redmi note 3 prime. Very first time when I switched it on after charge it start booting and still continue since 8 hour. Nothing happened neither switch off nor restart even hard boot is also not working. Only logo of mi is blinking on screen.

I too had same issue. I held down the power button for almost 15 seconds and it booted up
When I connect my Note 4x for charging by genuine charger or data cable with laptop, it is showing battery charging and within 1 sec got disconnected. This is happening continuously. I still managed to load it to 100% after a night. I use ROM - MIUI GLOBAL 8.2.4.0 (MCFMIDL).I tried different chargers and power sources too but all fails...
I connect the phone to my PC and I set change the USB Settings to 'charge only' ... same problem!
LATER: Steps I made to solve my problem....
1. I flash recovery twrp and wipe & reset the phone
2. I clean all data and flash a new ROM XiaoMiFlash, now my phone ROM is V8.1.15.0 (MCFMIDI) from Miui Global 8.2.4.0 (MCFMIDL)

Just clean the charging port with alcohol and a tooth brush. If that doesn't work, repace the bottom PCB with the charging port and microphone on it (costs around 5 bucks).
hi i am also facing the same problem. is it a redmi note 4 specific problem? And the phone is charging while it is switched off. Is it a software issue? What about factory reset? Or has anybody having the problem tried any custom rom to check if the problem persists?

But, is working normally on stock ROM? Mine doens't works on stock ROM and doesn't have any battery, so I can't change the ROM.

Are you on MIUI 9. I beleive MIUI9 broke something causing this issue?

I have a slightly different problem, i use stock ROM MIUI 9.0.5.0
My phone can be charged when turn on, but can not be charged when turn off either use adaptor or laptop's usb
But sometimes after fastboot mode, my phone can be charged when turn off...
That is MIUi 9 bugs? Is there any other solution besides reflash or reset factory...

For the love of God. Try to read before post a comment here.
People are telling you if tried with something to fix that problems and nothing works, you have to replace USB port inside of the phone. That is the solution.
Are you facing charging problems with Xiomi Note X Phone? If yes, do not try to repair it yourself. Instead, go to the nearest V Care mi service center in thane and the ask the technical people out there to help you with the problem. They will surely find a solution for your problem and also guide you as to the right use of the phone.

i bought a Xiaomi Mi Box 3 (international version) a week ago. Yesterday, while viewing some videos, the box restarted (the initial Android showed up) and turned off. Since then, I can't even turn it on. The white led on the box does not turn on. I've tried plugin it to some different sources but still no luck. Do you know what could this be?

Same problem...no way to solve yet.
this has been wrecking my brain today, glad to know I'm not the only one.
The only way I solved this was flashing a international ROM from the xiaomi forum (google). But the box is very poor overall, would not buy it again.

I don’t know it works for you guys but i have SOLVED the problem by changing the adapter. I thought it was the stick at first but then i try to change usb cable and finally the adapter which give mea very satisfying result. Hope this would help some of us
My Mi Pad 2 is fully bricked, is there any solution?
this is what happend, I install LineageOS on it and it was fine, but then I wanted to change the recovery, then the OS wont boot so I try to put the old recovery in it, it also fails, so I tried to put windows on it, by booting an USB pendrive and mouse with an OTG cable when it start, but a signal of battery error appears, and now it wont boot at all. If I connect the tablet to the wall power, it shows me 0% loading, I left it for like 2 or 3 days connected and nothing, still 0%, when I try to power on the tablet, it shows me the battery icon with a warning sign /!\ and wont show me the "Mi" logo, just direct to the warning sign.
The pc wont recognize it either, and wont work any buttons combination, is there any solution?
This might be over 2 years late for you but the same thing happened to me and I thought i'd post the fix incase anyone else comes across this thread.
[FIX] Open the backing and simply untether the battery ribbon cable, im not sure if leaving it unplugged cleared any held memory so I left it for a good minute or so before reconnecting. Screw it all back together, turn it on, should work fine

remove the 2 screws at the bottom (they're torx t3? I think. a good set of precision screwdriver bits should have it) and use ideally plastic spudgers to spudge it out. its clipped in but it's really easy to remove. the back panel comes off by itself, and the rest of the tablet is self contained in a magnesium frame attached to the screen.
i was pretty impressed by the construction really. super solid!
So... I had the Mi pad 2 laying in my house running on MIUI 9 and one day I got curious and tried to unlock its bootloader.
I didn't remember my password and the recovery phone no. is discontinued now. and I couldn't change it or sign out.
So like an idiot, I factory reset it. And now it's asking for a password for the last mi id.
can anyone help me? Will and edl flash do the work?

I know this isn't the right place to post this so excuse me. I have a very serious problem with my redmi note 4, first I was facing battery drain and issues sometimes when the phone shut down completely and the red light blinking I try to fastboot then flash the stock room then root then flash any android room in my choice, I was doing it once then it stucked on fastboot when I took of the usb cable the phone is dead, no redlight blinking not charging, removed the back cover and did the battery trick that disconnect the battery, nothing no response at all. normally when I do this trick the phone boots and I can get to fastboot and do what I mentioned up. I'm very sorry for my english and any help would be very much appreciated.

I gave my device to service center and they replaced my subboard and mainboard. Now device is fixed.
