Hi folks
Have an issue i think its straightforward battery replacement and ordered one off amazon already but will take time to get to me
Just wondering if anyone has same issue or can clarify /verify my suspicion
Today my wife's lg g5 was on 7% in a 4 minute window it shutdown itself since then when plugged in with several chargers and cords the phone does not charge no led indicator light either
As such wont turn on
Ive pulled battery and put back in, usb port is clean and screen doesnt turn on for anything
Im thinking the battery is just... Dead
Any comments /suggestions?
Thanx in advance
I had a similar problem. When the phone turned off itself after discharge the battery, I can't turn it on. Even after plugged charger some minutes does not LED indicator light. And after several minutes with charger, phone is ON. My old battery is bad, with my new battery all the same.
I used the oem charger and left ir for several hours. Phone got hot but no luck. Awaiting new battery arrival.
Ok so update phone is a brick nothing works phone is 18months old... Lg messed up on this one

I’m having the same issue, I’ve tried a new battery and all that happens is that the phone gets warm and the phone is complete dead. I don’t know what’s wrong with it.
I have two dead ones too here. one died in februar, the other yesterday.
No Solution found yet. Led is not working, phone gets warm while charging.
I really want to access the data on the Mainboard, i hope that someone will find a solution.
On youtube comments i have read from several others who experienced the same..
Same problem here
My phone had an argument with the toilet.
I dried it out and it booted up just fine.
Then left it charging. It got hot then froze. I striped it all down and dried it out again, but it now appears dead.
My wife has a G5 so I'm able to fully charge batteries in hers and try them in my phone, but to no avail.
If I put the battery in and press the power button, it vibrates, but no sound, no screen, not USB recognised.
I've tried everything to recover it including but not limited to:
stock charger
multiple different USB cables
plug in to PC
plug into PC while pressing volume up/down and various other combinations
4 different bottom modules (2 standard, 2 cam plus)
stripped it down completely and cleaned all the connectors with isoproply alcohol
Seems to be dead as a dodo.
I have pictures and videos of my son on there that I'd love to recover.
Has anybody successfully recovered data off of the internall MMC from a dead motherboard?
Thanks!

You can get data from your Google backup. If you had backups turned on go out to Google from a laptop and download the last backup before it died. It should have all your pics etc

I woke up today, but my Vibrant didn't. No lights, no noises, only sign of life is that it gets warm while it's plugged to the charger.
I haven't tried downloading anything to it. It was acting perfectly normal yesterday. No water damage whatsoever.
Tried several tricks seen here: button combos, usb connection (my comp. doesn't recognize the dead device, though), and I tried a homemade 300k ohm jig.
Did my phone die in the middle of the night? Thanks
Your battery may have given up the ghost. Maybe a friend has a Vibrant you can swap batteries with for a couple minutes to test with?
I tried a backup new battery I had. Still heats up when plugged in to charge, that's all though.
Was the phone really hot when you woke up initially?
I made the mistake of pulling my battery during an Odin flash and thought my phone was done for. It would not power on, charge, etc. just a blank black screen with no lights.
I tried a few times and eventually I was able to get it into download mode by pulling the battery, pressing both up + down on the volume rocker and the power button with one hand, then plugged in the USB port while replacing the battery. It might take a few tries, but it may work for you. I hope that helps.
Its been day 3 of having a phone that refuses to power on..
I went camping over the weekend and had it plugged into (and charging) my travel charger via cigarette lighter and it was working fine. At one point I went to use it and turned on the screen but it glitched out by the screen turning on then off a few times until i left the screen off, gave it a few seconds, and turned it on again and was able to put in my security lock etc. It does that once in awhile and I chalk it up to a computer booting up and my impatience
Well the screen powered off while reading on my phone, and I went to power on but it wouldnt stay on this time. I got a glimpse of the battery and its probably 85% charged, but upon coming home and leaving it on the charger all night I am still with a dead phone.
There is no flashing white/green/red led light a the front, even when plugged in.
Ive tried all the solutions on these forums (camera + power button, camera + power + volume buttons, removed battery, cleaned with eraser, tried different chargers via wall outlets & laptop, and even the cmd & "bootloader" stuff but the request is never recognized..) I really need some help with this, PLEAAAASSSEE!
Ive never rooted (?) or flashed or did anything of the sort with this phone, its pretty much stock.
**I just tried putting the battery in after a few min, and as soon as the pins touched and the battery was in, the back lower camera light flashed on for a few seconds and then shut off. Still no power to the phone though
I cant find anything close to my problem so I hope someone out there has a new & successful suggestion!!
Thanks all!
Have you tried a new battery? It truly sounds like your battery is gone and doesn't hold (much) of a charge.
Hi there. I promised my girlfriend to make her Samsung Galaxy S2 work again. The thing is, suddenly it won't charge. After trying several different chargers did I bought a new battery. But it didn't work either. Then I bought a new USB charging port and replaced it yesterday. After I plugged in the Charger, the screen shows the charging batteri screen for a couple of seconds and the went black. Then there was no power at all. I tried the other battery, I tried to make sure everything was as it should be inside on the motherboard.
Please help me..
I tried to make a hard reset but it didn't start op of course because the battery has no juice. I tried to unplug the battery for 10 seconds, then I plugged the charger in and afterwards the battery, but still no sign of power.

Hm... you should always be able to start the phone via charger, otherwise something is severly broken.
My advice: Get your girlfriend a new phone or rather take her out for a nice dinner!
It's cheaper and you'll have a great time, hopefully.
PS Get the money back for USB charging port and battery. Women are a really terrible influence on men.......

Hi, i am having similar situation, but i would like to be sure, its definitelly dead. What's different in my case, i was using CM 11 M8 and updated to M9 the day it was released, no problem with booting, just to the moment, when battery dropped to 0% and phone turned off. When i plugged it in, i was there - nothing, black screen, no access do download or CMW mode, tried other battery but no luck.
I just dont understand what has happened, that simple update can kill the phone or what?
My Galaxy S2 appeared to be working fine with no issues but during a charge one day, I noticed it had gone black and wouldn't turn on. I swapped out the battery and changed the charger (both taken from a different S2 that had no issues) and it didnt fix the issue.
The rundown:
Taking a different battery/charger that works with another S2 doesn't make any difference
Phone doesn't show the battery charger icon when plugged in
My PC doesn't recognise the phone when I plug it in via USB
The USB jig doesn't seem to help do anything
Tried removing the battery and keeping it out of the phone overnight, put it back in and still nothing
Tried removing the battery, plugging in the charger, waiting awhile, putting the battery back and straight away pressing power button - nothing
The only sign of life is that the phone gets warm around the camera area when left on charge.
Any ideas?

If this is still relevant (the OP posted 2 months ago)......
Phone won't power on, no charging icon when charger plugged in, recovery and download modes inaccessible, usb jig doesn't help, phone getting warm by the camera......I remember my time on the S2 forum, and these are all (when combined) a classic sign of a HARD BRICK.......
HARD brick = HARDware brick
SOFT brick = SOFTware brick
SOFT brick......usually recoverable
HARD brick......start using your phone as a paperweight......
Sorry mate, but unless you're prepared to spend out on a new motherboard, you ain't fixing it.....

Thanks Keith & all.. it was indeed a goner. An expert took a look at it and found that the cause of the issue was the EMMC chip where the data is stored. Unfortunately it is too tedious/complicated to replace due to how it is soldered to the board (requires specialised equipment etc) so it was a choice of replacing the entire board or bust. Just wasn't worth it for an older phone. I ended up buying a Xiaomi Mi4i to replace the S2 and have been pretty happy with it (save for a few software bugs now and then).

I recently picked up this galaxy s6 edge from a friend that upgraded to a new phone. It won't turn on, neither to android recovery, nor to download mode nor the android. I charged it via wireless charging overnight and i tried for around an hour with a usb cable. What do i do?
same issue i am facing, i tried original charger, wireless charger and fast chargers from many different brands. but all failed. The device only gets warm/hot while charging and nothing happens. neither download mode nor recovery mode works. I am kind pf stuck without any solution, my device was used very rarely and its like an brand new device. Doesn't know what to do, if you find any solution then please let me know too. thanks in advance
Same problem. If I press power button very long, blue light comes on. Then it's stuck and stays like this until battery is flat. Battery charging is not possible: device heats up (tried USB and Qi), but battery doesn't take any charge.
So I opened the S6 and checked the battery directly. I can charge it directly with a lab power supply and when I plug it in and press power button, the blue notification light comes on again until battery is empty again. I can also see that only ICs get hot, but not the battery when plugging in USB.
So, it's definitely some hardware fault. I suspect power IC that is not able to power up the screen. But I don't know. I will investigate further but it looks difficult. However, I have seen many YouTube videos with same symptoms, but problem was always different than mine :/
Hi guys,
This thread is 2 months old, any of you managed to fix the problem?
I am having very similar problem. My phone was on a shelf for about a year and a half. Before now it was working perfectly. Now I can't charge it via USB or power adapter. When trying to power it up or get into download or recovery mode, nothing happens. Computer does not see it. Tried different cables, USB ports, power adapters..nothing.
The only thing that is happening to the phone is the battery logo appears when trying to charge it, though the green bar does not go over battery, only the empty grey battery with lightning icon in the middle. Also the screen does not go dark after a few seconds as it should and the red/blue LED does not turn on.
Is this the signal from the phone, that the battery is to deeply dischareged and cannot be charged again? I am googling all over the web and can't find anybody talking about what phone does in case of to low voltage on battery.
PS back does not seem to be bloated, USB port was working perfectly last time used
Please try to help, you are my last stop before opening the phone and start probing the poop out of motherboard to see what gave.
EDIT: something interesting happened just about an hour after my post. The battery suddenly started showing % of charge and the green bar started running, computer recognized the phone.. as everything should be.
My FIX: leave the phone pluged in and charging for about 3days and it will start working again.
My semi professional explenation of fix and problem: the phone has a ''backup or reserve'' battery. It is actually main battery but the last I think I read somewhere it is 20% of capacity, is reserved for phone exclusively for the clock and all other electronics that need power when switched off. Now these 20% probably were discharged due to laying around for almost 2 years.
It took me 3 days of charging to fill up these ''20%'' I guess. Probably because Lithium batteries are charged VERY slow at very start and end. This is safty procedure for ALL Li batteries.
If any expert can confirm my conclusion please do so, to help other people.
To answer partialy to my question: The phone tells you battery is ''deep'' discharged when you only see the charge icon without the green bar.
In the mean time I was writing this edit I came up to 4% battery and turned it on!
