Was wondering if anyone else's quick charge has stopped working when using a quick charge 3.0 charger? The charging 'bubbles' animation used to go orange and it would say 'quick charging' when using qc 3.0, but mine no longer shows that and takes longer to charge than it used to - I have tried several different qc 3.0 chargers/powerbanks.
Just for clarity, I am not referring to Super Charge using the included charger - that still works (very well), just quick charge 3.0.
It works well for me, I never had a problem with that.

Are you using QC 2.0 or 3.0? Also, what firmware are you currently on? I'm trying to narrow down what the problem might be!
If anyone could get a screenshot of the screen when it says 'quick charging' it would be appreciated, so I have something to send to Huawei to compare with what my phone is showing!
Fixed it - cleaned the charging port and it's working fine again... must have been some dirt on the contacts!

XDA was working fine - i stupidly plugged in my old Nokia charger to the XDA connector and charged it up - i thought everything was OK.
NOW - the PDA side works fine - but the phone will not work - i can dial a number it will say calling - then say call ended and just stop.
The phone works fine when plugged to the charger - i have tried decharging the battery and recharging from scratch - but no good.
Any ideas?
Should i try and find a new internal battery.
Any opinions will be gratefully accepted
Thanks
Hmm
Hello Fox321.
Can you pls post the technical specs of this Nokia Charger ?
This will surely help our xda-tech-pro's to check this matter.
However, if the PDA side is working well, it let's me a little in doubt that charging will have caused this problem.
Have you already checked to take out your SIM card and re-insert it ?
How about a cold reset ?
Have you looked at the phone settings - Network ?
Can you make a automatic and/or manual Network scan ?
Does it show a"current network" ?
Can you post as well your device informations for the ROM and RSU Version ?
Posting problems adding as much informations about the device and the issue itself will help finding a (possible) quick solution.
How did you manage to plug a nokia charger in to the xda, I never knew you could, all nokias I have seen have an ordinary mini jack plug.
simply just plug the charher (mini jack) into the xda charger (adapter) plug. should be no problem with a nokia 6150 charger. same voltage only a lower amper.
I agree the problem sounds more like a broken SIM. Try using another SIM.
nokiachargers can only deliver 800ma
xda charger gives out 5volts at 1 amp
nokia charger can blast out 4.5volts all the way up to 9.5 volts
so if it did it wouldnt really effect your gsm part of the phonas its charging your battery not the signal lol
gaz
Not sure whats wrong with it.. I cant seem to charge my touchpad. I tried my phone's charger but it said it provides lower voltage and instructed to connect to the charger that came with touchpad. When I connect the stock charger (one that came with the touchpad)...nothing happens and it doesnt charge.
You think my charger isn't working or is there any problem with the touchpad?
Thanks for your help guys.
Are you running the CM7 build?
im currently running webos.
That happened to my gf's charger/Touchpad. I know that her contacts are flaky when I use the her TP charger for my phone. My guess is to start there.
If you are stock, my money is on the physical contacts, second guess would be the charger itself is bad.
You mean try using my phone's charger for the touchpad?

Touchpads are very picky to the charging source. There is a hack that you can download to fix that. However I recommend taking the stock charger, twisting it so it comes into 2 pieces and twist it back together. HP may have made the charging requirements picky for a reason. Much like early iPhones.

Ill try that once I get home.hope it works.....otherwise ill have to look into the hack. Do I need to root tp to get the hack working?

Yea. But that's easy

My gf's tp has problem charging a well. Tried charging via mine and her wall chargers. Both would charge my touchpad but would not charge hers. It would tell me the same as if I was charging using a computer. Charged it overnight and battery was still dead. Tried using multiple cables as well with no luck. Tried charging via the touchstone. For the first 7+ hours, nothing happened, just a battery icon with a flash and red bar. I decided to call HP about the problem. Set up and RMA to get it repaired. 10 minutes after calling HP, the touchpad finally showed some sign of life when it started booting up. I tried switching to the wall charger but it doesn't show any indication that it was charging. As of now, it is being charged on the touchstone but dunno the status of it because I had to go to work. I will find out in the morning. But I will still RMA the tp as it doesn't seem to charge via the usb port.
If the battery was that flat mllk it's probably damaged anyway so an RMA is the way to go.
Does anyone know where i can get this charger hack that is mentioned?
My charger did not work out of the box and it was simply because it is a universal charger made to take new plug attachments that screw into and out of the mane charging body.
It takes a rotation until it clicks into place to be properly set and functional. It seems mine was not rotated all the way in place. I thought I broke the charger when it came apart when I was messing around with it until I found this fact and after I put it back together and twisted it until it snapped into place it has worked fine since.
I plan to get a touchstone charger for it down the line anyways I think just to reduce wear & tear on the usb port and also to make charging it a more simple affair.
Shame it does not seem to charge from PC, its a bit misleading being that its a usb cable.
About a month ago this charging problem started overnight. Using the original wall charger and USB cable, current_max in GCC was about 200mA (instead of 1000mA). Somebody suggested a factory reset, which I did (restored apps and settings with TB). Problem still exists and is getting worse. Till now I was able to unplug and replug the charger a few times to bring it up to 1000mA, but now the current randomly goes down during the charge (esp if I use the phone).
The only thing I haven't tried is replacing the charger or cable, but I don't have another one. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Yes, used Galaxy Charging Current.

I think it's down to a damaged usb port on the phone. I have pretty much the same thing on my phone since the cable was yanked out of it whilst charging a few months ago. I have several chargers and some are better than others...depending on the cable. I also have issues with connecting to my pc....I have to not touch it otherwise it just disconnects.

But I have no other problem using the USB port apart from this? Is there anyway I can check it? Or shall I just wipe the phone and send it to be replaced?
Does anyone know what might cause this? Is it a problem with my USB port? I noticed it with my home and my work wall chargers.
Before I call Verizon (whom it has been reported is out of Rezounds, and I'm unlocked/rooted), I was hoping for some advice.
Thanks.
An update -- now after I unplug it from an actual PC, sometimes the USB/Charge and USB Debugging symbols remain in the Notifications bar. Could that mean the pins on my actual microUSB port are defective? I've now tested with a 2.1A wall unit too, and every charger I've tried has been a new USB cord.
Oh and just to rule out software I tried in Safe Mode too, no help. Anyone have an idea aside from calling up Verizon (which I will do after my long weekend out of town)?
I've developed the same issue on both of mine I've had. My solution was to simply run a kernel with a Force AC Charge option built in. Have to be careful, however, as the option may cause excessive heating of the battery if you do any intense usage under charging status (playing a game, trying to run GPS navigation, etc.) It rarely poses an issue, but just a heads-up.
You should never use your phone while charging it alwYs turn it off and set it down. When you are charging ylur phone resistors and capacitors are heatingbup your phone now if you are on it talking on it basicly you are heating up the whole board and if it gets hit enough it will losen the solder from the joint and may cause a chip creep effect on the board causi ng varios problems that are very hard to troubleshoot

Try a different USB cable. I've had cables that would charge only, no data. Drove me nuts, I thought it was HTC drivers. Swapped cables fixed it.
The charger is presenting itself in a way that looks like USB. This is very common because iDevices will not charge at all unless the charger does this, so if a manufacturer wants to support iPhones/iPads, they make the charger in this way. Unfortunately, Android devices limit themselves to 500mA when the charger is made like this. Yes, many kernels have fast charge options that make the phone ignore this, but my advice is to get a charger made specifically for Android. Use the one that came in your HTC box as a wall charger if you can. Get the Verizon branded car charger...it charges Android devices correctly.
Yeah, there are many chargers that leave the USB contacts active. Thing is, I've had an HTC branded one that used to show AC at first turn USB on me... Everything else shows USB too unless I force AC in the kernel. Seems like some other condition, degradation or something.
Thanks for the responses so far. I have tried three different wall chargers, each with a different USB cable. Other phones show AC but not mine. At the moment, plugged into the HTC wall wart, I am being asked of I want "charge only" or "disk drive".
Could this be a software related issue? It was mentioned that some ROMS have a force - AC but I am on the newest non Global RUU, unlocked S On, and rooted with TWRP as recovery.
Bump -- is there any chance the RUU and then unlocking and putting TWRP on could cause this issue? Verizon is trying to get me to run a factory reset to "fix it".
Ugh.
Hey guys,
Just got the 5.1.1 update to my g watch and i noticed some charging differences, namely i can no longer charge my watch with my pc (its an always on pc). I checked cables etc and all are fine, and it will still charge through an AC outlet. Ive tried usb 2.0 and 3.0 ports.
Just wondered if anyone else had noticed this behaviour? The charging indicator wont even show up when its plugged into my pc. Also noting that usb debugging still works through my pc and all is detected fine there

I have the same update, and have the same problem as you, I only noticed it last night when I put it on to charge, I charge mine every night on the same usb port and have had no problems till last night, like yours mine will only charge from mains now, I've tested all my usb ports and they are all working okay. I hope some one has an answer for it.
I´ve checked this and mine works perfectly with a 5m cable connected to a usb hub. I´ve checked with other cables and without hub, and this still works.
I was able to address the issue by rebooting the watch.

So do i! Usb ports are working fine, my pc is custom built so i have specific ports designed for quicker charging of anything plugged into them

If i reboot the watch whilst it is on the charger, it charges via usb in my pc - but if i take it off and put it back on, the problem returns, despite it still working with an AC charger, i'm assuming this is a software problem as android knows when its charging via usb or AC anyway. Hopefully a dev over here or the LG guys will fix it - i don't want to have to restart my watch every time i want to charge it, it's a pain in the arse and i shouldn't have to do it - i have a lack of AC ports in my room, hence i charge through my pc

Just checked - same behavior here.
Always fun to be a beta tester for Google. At least there's a workaround.

haha well, i can use an AC power source and charge my phone in my pc, they are both super close to me just my phone takes longer to charge
My watch was slower to charge I did notice that. Took an entire extra hour!
I have the same problem but I posted in the wrong thread (LG G Watch General)

Hi
I have 2 chargers because I use one for travel. After updating to 5.1.1, one works and the other does not. I swapped the components and found it was the cable. I hope that this helps.

All my cables seem to produce the same result, maybe it's just me - i tried the one that came with a quick charge charger and even that does the same thing. hmm, will pick up a new cable tomorrow and check it out!
I just had my watch on the charger and with out taking it off, restarted it and now it is charging. Definitely a bug of some sort

I wouldn't bother. Some chargers just behave like USB devices to be able to charge older Blackberrys. I used the same cable with the PC and with a wall wart. Only the wall wart works unless I reboot the watch.
Thanks, most people seem to confirm its a bug.. That's what I love about xda, you can always find things like this. Thanks for all your help.
Hi, glad I found this thread.
I am having the same problem. It doesn't charge since the 5.1.1 update, but if it lays on the charger and I reboot it, it charges. If I take it off and put it back on, it doesn't charge and I need to reboot it again.
Have the same problem. After reboot, it charges on usb much slower but doesn't look like it (No charging icon). Otherwise I love the update.
Did you all factory reset after updating your watch? I also couldn't charge until I rebooted but it charges fine after the reboot.
Same issue
I can confirm the same behaviour. I have to reboot the g watch and then it start charging. Definitely a bug
Same here, watch was charging wen I went to sleep but charging stopped at around 60%

I've expressed my frustration over at the Android Wear help forum:

Oddly, my watch did NOT include the wall charger even though I got it new from Best Buy. Did anyone else not get a wall charger? I'm not the type to just blindly miss something as useful as a USB wall charger. I remember opening it up and saying to myself, "I guess I'll have to use my monitors USB port." I don't throw that stuff out. I still have the box and all the packing materials as well, and it's nowhere in there.
