I also noticed this bug on 6.9.9, not after reboot but after restoring the TWRP backup which was taken a day before.. unfortunately there is no "Forgot Password" option, what i did is deleted the "gatekeeper.pattern.key", in your case you have to delete the "gatekeeper.password.key", you can delete both, nothing will happen, u have to set you passwords again, thats it. :highfive:
You can acess it, with TWRP's file manager in the following path...data>system (make sure your system is Mounted)
And Please dont forget to hit Thanks
will try

google aroma file manager, download the zip, and flash it in stock recovery... and you can do that from there,
or you can just unlock your bootloader unofficialy, req for locking permission, and again unlock it via official method, everything is just same.
and please hit the thanx, incase you have forgotten in previous post

I'm running the latest Validus Nougat ROM for OnePlus 3. I decided to add a password and encrypt my phone. So I ticked the force encryption and I figured I'd also tick the dmverity option in Magisk and then went and created my password and required password to boot. Reboot my phone and incorrect password. Tried more than a few times before booting to recovery and inputting the same password there to decrypt partition. It works...
So how is it possible that the same password that can decrypt properly through TWRP is incorrect when used to try and boot to system? And also can I recover my data? I did make a full backup 3 weeks ago so it's not the end of the world but a little annoying.
I updated to android 9.0, my pocophone is now asking for a pattern rather than a password on startup. I set a pin/password when I bought the pocophone and have used the pin/password everytime the pocophone has booted and I don't remember ever entering a pattern, any advice for what to do?

thanks for the advice but it doesn't seem clear what you are supposed to do if your password has a 0 in it
Have the same issue. After drawing any pin, it says "The pin is correct, but the data is corrupted" and offers to do factory reset. The data is obviously corrupted, since there was never a pin. Any ideas how to solve this?
Hello,
my Mi Pad 4 is asking for a password when i start it. I did not set a password and tried everything... The Standard Passwords for TWRP also do not work.
What can i do now?
Thanks

Nobody out there with a Solution?
The same thing happened to me.
The sitution for me was that I tried to switch from the stock ROM (which uses encryption for "data") to an older ROM which did not use encryption. So first I had to swipe data to get rid of the encryption.
It is hard to tell from your report.
For you, it might also be similar to this:
twrp asks for password
whenever i want to boot into twrp it asks me for a decryption password. i tried to enter my pin code but still it says wrong. i tried to wipe my phone but still it asks for a password. i hope anyone help me fasy.

You say''and formated my phone without loging out" at that moment you were logged in, so you have the password.
