Nobody out there with a Solution?
The same thing happened to me.
The sitution for me was that I tried to switch from the stock ROM (which uses encryption for "data") to an older ROM which did not use encryption. So first I had to swipe data to get rid of the encryption.
It is hard to tell from your report.
For you, it might also be similar to this:
twrp asks for password
whenever i want to boot into twrp it asks me for a decryption password. i tried to enter my pin code but still it says wrong. i tried to wipe my phone but still it asks for a password. i hope anyone help me fasy.

I also noticed this bug on 6.9.9, not after reboot but after restoring the TWRP backup which was taken a day before.. unfortunately there is no "Forgot Password" option, what i did is deleted the "gatekeeper.pattern.key", in your case you have to delete the "gatekeeper.password.key", you can delete both, nothing will happen, u have to set you passwords again, thats it. :highfive:
You can acess it, with TWRP's file manager in the following path...data>system (make sure your system is Mounted)
And Please dont forget to hit Thanks
will try

google aroma file manager, download the zip, and flash it in stock recovery... and you can do that from there,
or you can just unlock your bootloader unofficialy, req for locking permission, and again unlock it via official method, everything is just same.
and please hit the thanx, incase you have forgotten in previous post

I was flashing the new small eui rom. It flashed perfectly however I cannot get past the leeco sign up or register screen. It says my phone number is assosiated with this phone and asks me to enter my password. The problem is I never created a password for it. When I press forgot my password I get an error that tells me I cannot reset my password from this screen.
When I go on my computer to the website to reset my password it tells me they will send a verification code to my phone to reset. The problem is, I cannot get to my text messages due to having no way to bypass the screen.
Is there anyway I can reset my password somehow to bypass the screen?
I still have access to twrp.
Thank you
If you don't need access to the data on the phone, wipe all besides storage and re install small eui.
But before you do anything, create a backup with TWRP!
I tried that and that didnt work. I read that it is based on your IMEI.
I did figure it out though. I put my sim card into my wifes phone. Reset the password via SMS verification using her phone, then I was able to reset the device.

Can you provide more details on how you solved it if someone else run into such issue? Is your wifes phone same model? How can you request to reset password?
You don't need another device if you have this problem. You can just install one of the non-eui custom roms like Lineage, or one of the older eui roms that allow you to skip the leeco account log in step, and get the text that way.

By me putting my sim card in my wife's phone I am able to receive SMS from my number on her phone.
Once I put the card in, I went on the computer and reset my password via SMS, so the sms went to my wife's phone. I got that code and was able to reset my password through my computer.

I was able to request the password reset through the leeco website. Below is the link.

I have installed TWRP and Oreo 8.1 on my OnePlus X. I have had no problems working with Oreo. Today I wanted to install the Magisk app. In TWRP Now was asked for my password for decryption. I enterd my pincode and I have tried several passwords, but no result. I can not remember that I have given a password for the encryption. My problem is now that my device will not start correctly anymore. Also a restant does not help. Android does start without a error and I can unlock but then I have a blocked black screen. Who can help me to solve this problem, please.
did you find a solution? I have the same issue while trying to flash any custom rom ... it has something to do with TWRP version i believe but i'm not 100% sure .. maybe someone would help us both ..
No solution for missing password for recovery decryption
I have not found a solution. I am 100% sure I did not make a password for the encryption, but to make a decryption the system does ask for a password. To solve the problem I did a factory reset . This time I have not used the possibility of encrypting the one plus x in Oreo 8.1. Hopefully the developer of the rom can find and solve the problem.

then i flashed original but also give me same screen
now i have only 8 times wrong password then device will format
how to solved this problem please
thanks
Boot to recovery and format data to fix.
when i format date i face this error
unable to mount storage !!!
why would you download that scam with all the great roms out?
i heard about it and and to try
i entered wrong password many times and phone memory erased then password removed
Next Time type as password --> default_password
Pocophone F1
security set to fingerprint and alphanumeric password.
every 3 days the fingerprint stops working and asks for password as a default security feature.
Last night it asked for password as its been 3 days since last used password. I am certain the password is correct and signed in several times before with it. I suspect there might have been a system update in the last 3 days. Now it keeps saying password is incorrect.
Forgot password option only allows erasing data and back to factory default.
Any help would be much appreciated.

if you have TWRP or any other encryption supporting custom recovery, reboot to recovery and then check what it asks for.
called xiaomi uk
I didn't root the phone or have custom recovery installed unfortunately.
called xiaomi uk customer support, they were saying the phone should give the option to reset the password via the google account but it isn't giving this option.
the phone is definitely connected to my google account. can see it there and was able to locate it and ring it from the computer browser.

I didn't install those unfortunately.
Did you associate your phone to mi account? She this happen to my girlfriend's phone and saw a bunch of cases while looking for a solution. Couldn't find a way around factory resetting.
I ended up doing the factory reset. I am sure it's a Xiaomi software issue because when I was initiating the phone again, when you set up fingerprint it gives this message:
"Remember your lock screen password. If you forget it, you'll have to erase all data on your device, including photos and contacts, and then set a new one"
This is exactly what I ended up doing other than the fact that it wouldn't accept the correct password. There is ways around it if you rooted your phone before this happened but in my case there was no quick solution.
Xiaomi should allow the password reset via Google account like other android phones.
Lucky I did have some backup via Google so wasn't a total disaster.
this is really bad. Im in this situation and i don want to erase my files as i didnt back up or used cloud. since yesterday looking for work around this screen lock issue, im using pocophone f1.
