Hi. I bought mate 20 pro on December. I am on 9.0.0.153 C432 (from Italy) and I saw how for example LYA-L29 (the same of my model, but dual Sim) it's already on 9.0.0.183.
My mate 20 pro it's not branded. Is it normal? How does huawei updates? There's no sense. At the end of January, I have security patch of December. Than I noticed how on 9.0.0.153 battery is about half (after factory reset and many battery cycles), and benchmark on antut has less score. So, I have two questions. Am I the only one with LYA-L09 on 9.0.0.153? And on this update (9.0.0.153) has someone else noticed less battery and has someone tested antutu benchmark? (before I had 13h of SoT, now I have about 8h like my last phone: S9 Plus, and I passed on huawei for battery).
Hello, first i had a battery drain too, but after clean restore after full wipe (manually downloading applications), the battery life is top again, try it if you can
I have the dual SIM and I am not on 183. It's really depends on the region. I am Germany.

Everything seems to indicate that Huawei updates via region & in IMEI batches meaning European devices (C432) are always last to the party.
Happy to know that, obviously ironic. Ok, so at the moment I can only wait .
Rellay thanks to all you for answering my questions. About battery I did already full wipe, but nothing. I hope is only the version of firmware, when I'll receive new update I will try again to restore and full wipe. Thanks again
A number of people have said about battery drain on 153.
If you are doing a factory reset to fix the battery drain you can't restore your phone--you need to select set up as new and install your apps manually. Doing a restore from Google Cloud Backup or another source also restores app and system data and can easily restore whatever is causing your problem.
Huawei has a really confusing OTA process where different regions and model variants are on different build numbers and often there will be multiple build numbers that are on the same monthly security patch. That's one of the downsides with Huawei--they make great devices but their OTA system is horrible.

I always do a factory reset from recovery and than I do a restoration from settings. Than I reinstall every app, I don't use backup. But I don't think that these procedures can really help. ?
I just did it. I had on 100% like 22-23h in settings. Now I have 50h+. It really helped. Thank you

Have a lot of trouble with the Mini here
And i tried most of the tricks / tips to speed it up
factory reset help only for a few hours. Right now it is 4.4.2 on it
i tried root, link 2 sd and all that., greenify, flashing rom, disable apps, remove bloatware, well a lot...
I unrooted, factory reset again (many times)
same trouble.
It crashes randomly on:
Put on charge
call in
call out
Opening camera
Unlock
Using a program or two.
Seems like memory trouble. but i have alsways 200 / 300 mb free
is it hardware problem?
Try flashing a kdz and factory reset.
Also, try without installing any apps for a day or two.

No hardware fail as the service center said, and delivered back me. (free check and a factory reset, as i haven't tried that before!!!)
Phone has never been dropped, and treated very well. All happened After the last Firmware update (approx 2 months ago, and approx 2 weeks after buying it)
It was OTA update, and i suspect that was it. (wish i knew what firmware it was out of the box, cus it worked PERFECT)
Before the update i didn't think about rooting it, cus my lady (that use the phone) only has like 5 apps. But it still uses alot of memory, but it was holding.
After the OTA, all changed.
So i rooted it, made a ext4 on the sd card, and installed link2sd. worked ok for about 12 hours.
Crashed on Putting on charge, crashed incoming calls, viber, skype, Hangouts, some ticket app for bus and train.
and in general on all apps, cam, phone app and so on.
But it always had 200/300MB free RAM, so that was strange
Factory reseted maybe 4 to 6 times, never helped
Today i flashed KDZ, but has not installed any apps get. So lets see.
seems like the KDZ flash worked out ok.
Been stable now for 3-4 days. But i don't dare to root it, just in case a updates come.
Will it get 4.4.4?

well after 10 days usage (non rooted, and only 2 extra Apps installed, phone is back crashing again. 4 to 8 times a day. For example it crashed when alarms starts, or using camera, or just opening browser.
Any suggestions?

IDK, perhaps a month?
Anyway, I think the crashes are hardware-related.
It should be covered under the warrant.

Just had phone at the dealer, and they gave me the same phone back, and told me to wait for the New Software update, as they could not find anything hardware problems on it.
Bet they only tested it for a few minutes, and they didn't experienced any crash either. Problem is that the phone crashes after it has not been used for a few hours, and start to use it.
Didnt help to flash the KDZ either so I'm stucked.
Waiting 3-4-5 months for android L is kinda not a option, so i wanna go back in time:
What i remember, was that the phone was OK before the 4.4.2 version was updated. I do not remember what was on it before, but if someone know what version it could have been installed on it before the latest update came (OTA came around end july/beginning of August -Scandinavia) , and where i can find that KDZ firmware (not latest one, but one before) i would be grateful, and i will test that.

Did a reset to try to fix the annoying noises when pressing buttons. Now the battery lasts about 10 minutes with screen on... Glad I still have warranty

I was able to fix the horrible battery issue (10 mins) by reverting to 5.0. Haven't tried updating to 5.1 yet. Don't really see any reason to.

Which brings up another question. Of the people that are having the battery drain issue, How many are having it with the 5.1 update and of those, how many got it OTA and how many had 5.1 out of the box? I got myself one for Christmas which is under the tree until then. I did make sure it would boot up before I wrapped it up and checked to see what version it has and it is 5.1.
Just fyi I was running 5.1 fine for weeks. It wasn't until I attempted to install the newest stagefright ota on my rooted device that I encountered a battery issue. I can't pinpoint exactly when the problem arose, though.

This happened to me, too. The battery would drain in 3 minutes. Moreover, I could not get catlog to display anything. (I was trying to see if there were any messages that might give a clue as to what was happening.) To prepare for a warranty return, I copied everything in the internal memory to my external sdcard. That freed up a few GB of space. Upon rebooting, The tablet's behavior returned to normal. No more battery drain. I do not know for sure, but I suspect that somehow a low memory condition led to the OS thinking that battery was draining rapidly. This suspicion was further supported by the fact that it only took a few minutes for the battery to recharge. So, if your battery drains in minutes, it could be that it actually is not but that the system thinks it is because there is insufficient free internal memory. that may have been a coincidence, of course. but maybe not.
I had the exact same battery drain issue a couple months ago on 5.1. After about two weeks of experiencing this problem intermittently, it disappeared on its own.

1) I flashed blackburn DDO_BB and system.img from this LINK.
2) Update through OTA to Android 5.1. and reboot.
3) will receive OTA update again for Stagefright update IF u want update it. :fingers-crossed:
Note : if u go to step 3 u can't able to ROOT.

I took the install and it is working great; however, I would like to note, after I installed the update, I had a few issues with Twitter and some other apps. After the install, I did a factory reset and then re-loaded my apps. At least for my Moto Z, v7.1.1 is a very solid update.

If you live in Europe, do not update.
No LTE in Austria, sound equilizer not working, GPS losing connection issues....

I updated mine 2 weeks ago and it works perfectly fine. There's no abnormal behavior, battery life is good, camera great, very smooth.
I live in Europe and everything seems good. ROM is very smooth, GPS works fine, I don't have problems with LTE. Unfortunately LiveDisplay was't added. I recommend doing factory reset
I updated mine, then the next day the phone powered itself off after being fully charged. I turn it back on, it did it again twice while I was using it. I got lucky enough to do a cache wipe which seems to have solved it, but I don't see how these bugs are making it in. I'd be hesitant to install it.
I did the install yesterday after pondering the update. After one reboot everything is running status quo. It seems the majority of the issues everyone's having is not states side (U.S.A.).

Same here, smartswitch and ota see nothing. Gonna probably need to use odin to get it done.

Yes. No update for me either. I heard it's possible the date your imei was activated could impact your update. I activated mine on Feb 14th.

Do you have a T-Mobile firmware right? Because I remember one time went I flashed unlock version Thant I back to to mobile for some reason my csc changed and my UPDATE center stoped work but this happen to me one time , I don't know if this is your case ...

Temporarly on Hold.
T-Mobile stopped the OTA Oreo update right now for Note 8. This is due to problems with this update. Samsung and Google are working on a fix. Once they fixed the problems then they will resume OTA Oreo update for the Note 8.

Mines starting to heat up more during a charge...and using android auto. Before, the phone used to be nearly cold to the touch. Now it's very warm.

I charge my phone using the 2.0 amp wireless charger (I have a few scattered around) and I haven't noticed ANY heat change. In fact, I'd say the phone is cooler if anything. When I tried to update to Oreo by connecting to the computer (Smartswitch), I got Error 807******(don't remember) repeatedly, so I gave up and updated OTA.
I got tired of waiting and updated to Oreo via Odin. Haven't noticed any major issues.
I think T-Mobile stopped the OTA update because of battery life. I received the update on April 2nd and battery life is pretty bad for me. I only get 3Hrs 45min screen on time. Deleted a lot of apps that I don't use but didn't help much only get 4hrs screen on time. I also had to turn off Always on Display which I hate to do because I was use to looking at the screen without unlocking the phone.

Just got mine, the new build number is CRD7, not really sure what's new compared to the last oreo update, but that 1.3 GB update installed surprisingly fast.

I have a unlocked Verizon s9,same prob.. I was using C.C.as carrier, now they say sim won't work! Any way to wipe Verizon off phone? Thank's

I no longer have that phone. But if it is unlocked, inseritng your carrier sim then setting up all over again, should do the trick.. That is how I manage to get rid of T-mobile at the time and it was all Sprint after that.. Of course that was long before the merger.
The phone was working with Consumer Cellular , but when the switched to shorter wavelength[4-5G], they said my phone would not work! They supposedlly tried. I did manage to update phone to 10 through Smart Switch! But even after that they could'nt load C.C. in right! They seem to say because my phone does not have that Volt 4-5 g capability! Guess what I need is to get rid of the Verizon on phone so I can upgrade to volt or 4g capabilities! EITHER THAT or C.C. is lying to me so I will buy a new phone! Funny I have a onocular microscope and can fix computer's or phones in a basic manor but can't figure this out! Lol! Price for being an old guy!Thank's for your reply D.D.
