Note8 [SM-N950F] restarts everyday - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good evening Friends!
I own note8 - duel sim phone this is the version details:
Android Version: 8.0.0
Baseband Version : N950FXXU5CRK4
Kernel Version : 4.4.111-13688770-QB20819043
the problem:
Everyday the phone restarts randomly, in the beginning it was 2-3 times by everyday, i tried to wipe cache from recovery mode, it helped little bit, so now it restarting once a day by himself.
i checked if it have some connection with installed apps, deleted some of them in safe mode, installed eset anti virus to check if there is virus, but everything looks okey,
what you recommend to do ?
the solution that i was thinking about is to make a factory restore and as result of that to get indication if it was something with the software or if it keeps so its something with the hardware ...
p.s
i got the bug report if needed
Thanks for the help!
Ilya.

[Q] My GSII keeps rebooting

Hi all
i'm facing an issue with my phone which makes me upset specially when i turn on or off some features like when turn on airplane mode and then turn it off again, and when i turn the Bluetooth on, the phone starts rebooting and it never turn on normally before rebooting at least 10 to 15 times and some time more ...
it seems that there is an issue in the last android update,
does anyone faced the same issue and what could be the solution ,
i noticed the Bluetooth is on when the phone starts and then it is turning off after a while ..
this really upset me especially after landing and trying to use the phone to do a phone call, or when the battery is empty and i connect the power cable to the phone and trying to turn it on....
any help ?!
thanks
Dont cry give us some facts like what update what firmware .

Yes, need more information, but seems you may need to factory reset and re-flash official firmware here:
[ROM+Guide]Official i9100 Firmwares KG, KH, KI, KJ, KK1/2/5, KL1/2/3, LA2 Download
android version 2.3.5
Build Number GingerBread.JPKJ2
No issues with that firmware .
As said factory reset and or even reinstall the firmware .

I had the same problem. Once I turned bluetooth on, my phone started rebooting. All my problems were gone after rooting, and installing the V3RTR3MA ROM. Try it, it's really great and easy to do. battery life improved and the phone just became better. Good luck.
[edit] V3RTR3MA is a no wipe ROM, so no losing any data or anything like that. But it's always a good idea to make a backup.

Probably the fact that the flash in effect factory reset and cleaned the phone .

[Q] Houston we have a problem D= is there any way to get around?

Ok, first thanks to everyone here for all the info that I've already used in this forum. Here's hoping someone can help me get around my problem
my android: Genesis gt-1230
Model number: GT-1230
Android version: 4.0.3
Baseband version: 0.5
Kernel version: 3.0.8+ [email protected] #308
Buid number: crane_a1002hw-eng 4.0.3 IML74K 20120328 test-keys
My problem is:
After I had to reboot ,my device was completely erased, all apps were gone etc just like factory new, and if I try to change the settings again then reboot, my settings wont save no matter how many times I try, and when I try to install an app from sd I always get the same message: "could not be installed. Free up some space and try again" but off course I have plenety of space left (6gb)
What I first tried to do to probably have this problem:
I wanted to get rid of the stauts bar always showing up so I installed the GMD and Busy box installer (since GMD needed).. I succeded but the next day when I turned on my device my problem showed up (my device was turned off with low battery)
Any of this was relevant to to what happened? (I think busy box was the major cause)
What I think the solution is:
After hours searching the forum I found someone who had the same problem but the only answer was that the root is messed up and to try to restore it back before the root and try again, is this really correct? if it is then I will need to do the clockworkmod right? and install the rom again (before root) or a new one? the problem is my device arrived already rooted D= but the official site doesn't have the rom (only an old version of the gt-1220)
Then if I somehow manage to get another rom to work I will of course lose the root right?
There are any way to solve this?(even loosing the root)

got the same problem, although I don't get the phone reset to factory setting like you do, but after reboot, all my apps stored in external sd card are completely wiped out, only app data remains. I tried making a copy of the directory, but even after copying it back to where it belonged (/mnt/asec) ..nothing works.. it just happened less than 24 hours ago and all I did was carrying the phone in my bag. didn't even touch it. it all began with the message "please unmount the sdcard before removing" ...I did try redownloading the missing apps, installed it back, just to find them all gone again after reboot. ...anyone have any clue of what's going on?
Sounds like it is erasing you data partition on reboot. This happens alot only non official devices and android versions. It is mostly from faulty hardware the the OEM lies about the specs. Mainly devices out of china. Only thing you can really do is try to wipe the whole device and try again. I would not hold out to hope though

talked to a few people and found out that they're still with devices that runs android version 2 something... some of them suggested that I rooted the phone and tinker with the storage (switch the sd card to be recognize as internal storage as it has 8GB and the actual physical internal storage is only 2GB in size).... some told me just stick with what I have now (3-5 games and kids complaining of losing their share of game time )... and one person told me to get a custom ROM and update to 4.2.. haha.. I want the last option if it works... now I have to read lots and lots of threads and make notes on what to do... still haven't found why the OS suddenly want to wipe off the apps on the SDcard, why started 5 days ago and not starting to act up a few days after I bought the phone? ...geez...

urgent help

Hi
My s2 int touch screen become freezed and I can move some some part of the touch screen. The apps keep running. So the fix is u press thr the power button and screen goes off press it again and the touch is working perfectly. Same thing happens after phone go to sleep. All buttons are working and lcd test is passed. What do I do ? Can this be due bricking?
Tip 1: I have no idea why n00bs think using a title like 'Urgent Help' somehow either entitles them to, or will result in them receiving said help. Many people here (me included) will ignore threads like this & not help you at all because we've seen millions of threads like this before & none of them were/are urgent (we're not paid employees of XDA, you know ?)
Tip 2: You've told us nothing about the phone ;what firmware it's running, if you've modified it in any way, how long you've had the phone, etc. How would anyone here possibly be able to guess at what the issue might be without any information whatsoever ?
Its stock firmware ics upgraded to jelly bean. Xwlss. Previouly the cygan mode 10.1 was installes. The software got currpt and the guy installed stock rom ics which I upgraded to jelly bean.
Tell me what else I need to tell you. I purchased this s2 from a friend he had a custom rom installed.

Some one please help.
The issue is that.
1. Touch Screen Stops Working
2. Power Button, Volume Up/Down Working.
3. When i press power off an than again I wake the device, touch screen doesnot freeze
4. When I am done, the screen times out, the same problems occurs again
5. All apps are running (music plays, games continue to run)
6. Factory reset didnt solve the problem.
How did u factory reset? Try doing wipe data and wipe cache from recovery and see if the issue persists. If it does, flash another stock firmware and check again.

Reflash ROM with factory reset...see my signature.If that doesn't help,then it's a battery failure.
did a clean install and factory rest/cache rest. the problem is still there. any help ????

What could be wrong with this phone?(Freezing, restarting, doesn't detect carrier)

Ok hello i'm pretty new to this, but I have looked around quite a bit and nothing seems to help. So my friend gave me this Galaxy S6 edge(more specifically the SM-G925I - TCE Mexico (Telcel)). The issue with this phone is that it freezes then restarts randomly and it also doesn't recognize the carrier. It recognizes that theres a sim but the carrier is not recognized and I don't have access to mobile data. The bigger issue at the moment is the crashes though. I already tried resetting to factory defaults, booting in safe mode, wiping the cache and wiping all the data/ factory reset from the recovery menu. I thought it was the OS or something so I installed twrp wiped EVERYTHING(pretty sure I did since when I rebooted twrp told me if I was sure since I had no os installed) and installed the official 7.0 firmware update from sammobile. It was previously 6.0.1 and I thought having a different version might fix the issue. Yet the issue remains, within a few minutes of me using it it freezes, turns off, and reboots. At this stage I might you might think its a hardware issue but when i'm in recovery or download mode it doesn't turn off. Also I decided to leave it charging when I left for work and when I came back it hadn't turned off at all. I checked the uptime and it was at 7 hours and yet within a few minutes of me checking the settings it froze and turned off. I'm not really sure what to do anymore i'll probably take it to a service center to see whats up but I wanted your opinions first. Thanks.

[Help] SM-G925W8 Wifi Stuck at "Turning On..."

Android Version: 7.0
Build #: NRD90M.G925W8VLU6DRF1
Phone is completely stock, never rooted. I have tried safe mode, wiped cache, and just finished a factory wipe/reset. I think it may have happened with the latest update (I first noticed 2-3 weeks ago).
The wifi switch moves over and says turning on but it never turns on and eventually the switch goes back to the off position by itself.
It is now my second phone, so I don't know how excited I am to learn odin, but i have a little experience with rooting/roms, so not totally out of the question.
Thanks.
Same problem here.
