Fingerprint is not working in wickr with android pie on G965F - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Fingerprint is not working in wickr with android pie on G965F, when i start the app i get the message: Too many attempts. Try again later. i get the message before trying to unlock with fingerprint.
Tried contacting their support and they told me to uninstall restart, create new fingerprints, restart, re-install, restart, enable fingerprint, restart.
I have tried all i can think of except factory reset but ill guess that's next, just wanted to see if any1 have fingerprint in wickr working on pie and G965F

Same here, using TheGalaxyProject ROM on Pie.
Are you using stock?

Yes. Stock without root.

Ive just tried a complete reset and reinstall with the same problem, so suspect it is with the device.
I'll raise with Wickr Devs - plz do the same so they are aware.

Did you do factory reset? I've already notified their support.

Same for me after upgrading my stock S9 to One UI today. Annoying thing is I can't remember my password. Used to just use finger print unlock. When this happened before I upgraded I would just press the menu key and close the app, restart it and finger print unlock would work. After updating this work around no longer works.

I got a mail from their support. They are working on it.

It's fixed in the latest version.

Fingerprint doesn't work after coming back from ColorOS

As in title. I wanted to try out coloros, everything was fine but i didn't like it so i restored my AEX backup. After that autorotating wasn't working, so i flashed sensorfix included in coloros thread on forum. Autorotating works but now i can't use fingerprint. Im able to set up my fingers but when i try to unlock phone it just vibrates (only once, then until i turn screen on it doesnt do anything) and nothing happens. What can i do to fix it? Should i flash stock firmware?
Flash 14.1 firmware

Workaround:-
Screen lock > Register unrecognized finger
and add patern/pin
then go to settings
and don't delete the fingerprints
but remove the screen lock itself
and then add screen lock and register fingerprint
I flashed stock rom via recovery (not fastboot). Can anyone tell me how is that possible fingerprint scanner doesnt work ONLY FOR MY RIGHT INDEX FINGER? Uhh i will flash it via miflash to be sure that everything is stock..

Give your phone to mom/sister and get yourself new one. :silly:
JK lulz
Try adding your entry again and again...
- clear the lockscreen lock and fingerprints
- Try to setup new fingerprint.
when asked to press NEXT on Fingerprint screen, put your unrecognized finger on the scanner (DO NOT press NEXT).
- follow the instruction until complete while still keeping your unrecognized finger on FP scanner
- done, now you can add any other fingers and all of them will works
Hey flashed xiaomi.eu and set up 3 times the same finger and it seems to work! Thanks for answers guys!

Face Unlock not working after manual update to .187

after using the dialer menu to update to .187 on my lya-09 i can no longer use face unlock. i deleted the stored faces to see if this would fix it and i can no longer even enroll my face, it just sits at the look directly at the screen part and never goes any further. any ideas?
even after a factory reset i still cannot enrol face. it recognises my face is there but does not prompt me to turn my head like it usually does. i have no idea why
What's the dialer menu update method?
Found it.
djisgod I'm sorry that I can't offer you any help, but if you please keep us posted abot your problem and eventual solution. Thx in advance
It's probably seeing the software as modified and not allowing you to use the secure face unlock feature. Or it's broken by the update which might be why they've delayed it.
I'm not sure it is very strange. Does anybody know which apk or app it is that does the face enrolling so i can try and install a different version?
i have done the update, and face unlock works without any problem for me, but i also have the lya-l29
still no luck with this. i have tried reset to factory settings and reinstalling the firmware. neither work.
and now it has suddenly started working again. lol not sure why it stopped but i am glad its back!
which update file have you used to update your phone?
describe exactly which file you've used to update via dialer menu AND even which model do you use?
I used the update for my phone the lya-09 c432. 9.0.0.187 update file. All is working fine now. Not sure what was going on but face unlock is now working again.

Unlock with fingerprint bug after Pie update

So i installed the pie ota Update today and when unlocking the phone with fingerprint it opens to the home screen with an enabled keyboard which automatically disappears after about 0.5 seconds. Does anyone have the same issue? Or does someone know a solution to this bug?
I'm on stock rom with locked bootloader and installed the update through inbuilt update center.

Someone once told me: "After every update, factory reset." I can just say that he was right.
Remove all fingerprints before you accidentally lock yourself out. Then reboot, then set up fingerprints again. If this doesn't work, factory reset. But if you have TWRP you could also just delete the fingerprint database files.

Mi a3 android 10 update

I want to try out android 10 on my mi a3. I've even downloaded it. But i don't know how to install it. Some one help me please.
Android 10 for mia3 haven't out yat. you need to use custom rom in order to use it.
You just need twrp but if i were you stay on pie for now. Two unwanted changes concerning fingerprint and camera pro mode arising in android 10. It makes me wanna downgrade but cant anymore

No issues with camera or fingerprint here on my device.
Try clearing data for camera or something. Have you tried anything at all with your camera app to get it working?
I did a factory reset after updating to 10. Set fingerprints, installed all apps, fhen restarted! That restart broke my fingerprint completely. Its completely non functional now. Only works once after restarting to open the phone, then its not there at all.

My camera is working same goes with fingerprint. But it is not featured the way it was on pie.
No 32s on pro mode
Fingerprint requires a tap for fod to display.
The rollout was pulled due to bugs. I had downloaded a copy and booted into recover using the power and volume up buttons. Once I saw the open Android I pressed power and tapped volume up again to get to options menu. I hit the apply update from SD option. It started to update but kept failing shortly after it started update. Kind of glad it didn't since there's a lot of bugs. Let's see how long before they start pushing update again SMH.

Question AOD and fingerprint doesn't work after upgrade to Android 12

Hello,
Have global version of the phone. Yesterday have installed Android 12 firmware by OTA.
Always on display functionality doesn't work anymore - have tried all modes and on/off states. Also fingerprint scanner not showing and working on turned off screen at all. On android 11 I was able to unblock phone just using scanner. Now I must turn on screen by power button before. Is any some settings that I've missed or it bug of new firmware?
Also is there a way to downgrade firmware?
Thank you.

hi, i have the same problems after updating the os via ota. Both a soft and hard reset were useless
Same bug after upgrading from full ota file
I've have a solution for this issue. It's not ideally - because you cannot restore the phone from backup and need to migrate all data and applications manually.
I have loaded phone in the recovery mode (turning on by power button + volume down button) and perform the wipe data operation. After reboot I've initialized the phone without restoring from backup.
AOD works correctly but the fingerprint sensor doesn't showing by default on AOD screen. I've turned off/on the Show finderprint settings and all works fine.
After that I've installed and initilized all applications from Google play.
I've installed OTA today, have no issues, Global Version, Germany.
Hi, have same problem with mine, Poland - GDPR.
Edit, AOD started working for me after formating data from recovery mode. Dont use in-android wiping.
Edit 2: AOD is working untill i log in to google...
Same issue here! Global Version - Italy
It's very annoying, I hope in a fast new update
Same problem here. Global Version - Spain
No way to make AOD work. Have tried all possible setups. It was working fine in previous version. Quite frustrating.
I've also noticed since updating to Realme UI 3.0 - Android 12, that some apps are asking for fingerprint to unlock, while other apps ask for face unlock...
These apps would always ask for fingerprint in previous version.
Anyone else facing this problem?
I have the same issue when I try to unlock an app with finger. The finger sensor not appears. I must power off screen and then power up for sensor appear and works
