I own a LG CAM module, and so far of all ROMs I've tried it only works on the stock ROM, which is out of the question for me as the UI, speed and battery life are awful. No custom ROMs support it to my knowledge, is anyone aware of anything that supports these modules?

i want to all the best roms and kernels for lg p500. i want to know which kernels and roms work best together without any bugs or anything. also having a problem with com.andriod.phone?
basically what benifits do you get from custom roms ?
all i see is in threads are just bugs or something not working and i would like to know why people choose to change from a stock working rom to a custom rom with bugs ?
every rom i see theres bugs and theres not a rom i can see that doesnt have bugs or somethings not working appart from stock.
also is there an app or mod to shoot videos at 60fps ?
Every software has bugs. And I do mean all of it. But custom ROMs are developed as a hobby, so they don't go through nearly as much testing. You can always read the first posts to know the benefits of custom roms. For example, check out the domination theme, Jkay framework, per-app dpi settings, which are included in some of the sammy-based ROMs. There are also numerous tweaks and mods that make it faster, and all the useless samsung bloat is removed. Just read and try it for yourself
The benefits of installing custom ROMs over stock is that bloatware are removed and tweaks added, there aren't many ROMs which has bugs as all developers uses stock apps and settings
Hi,
previously I was on Sony Xperia devices but now I switched to Samsung S9 +.
The first thing that struck me is the bad battery life.
I've been reading on how to solve this and I will at least do a full reset and clean install to see if this helps.
But if this does not help I want to know what to try next.
CUSTOM ROM
For what I have found the custom roms do not use the second camera and that's something I do not want to lose.
So are there Custom roms that keep the original functionality from the camera?
CUSTOM KERNEL
If installing a custom rom isn't the way to go, what about a customer kernel?
So far I found two of them
ElementalX
Nemesis
And there is one html with an explanation about the speed and battery usage of the Exynos chip.

There is speculation whether Samsung will do something about battery usage as there seems to be a solution if Samsung does some ROM changes.
For now I think installing a custom kernel is my best option but what about OTA.
Once rooted I will not receive them anymore, can I just download the now ROM from Samsung and install it over the existing one without resetting the phone?
And once the ROM is installed reinstall the custom kernel?
I'm open to other suggestions to improve battery life.
Hello everyone, I was asking myself which rom and kernel should I use in order to:
-Get the best performance ?
-Get the best screen on time ?
-Get something balanced between performance and screen on time ?
There are so many custom roms and kernels for this phone, I can't try them all.
Thanks in advance.

I have tried LOS, PE, NOS, Omni, AOSIP and AEX. But trust me, nothing is as fast and smooth as miui. But I hate miui for tons of system apps. So, the solution is miui eu ROM. Try it once and you will be amazed to discover a new miui without any bloatware and blazing fast performance. And just to let you know that none of the custom ROMs have IR camera driver and hence face unlock doesn't work as miui. Moreover, almost all custom ROMs and kernels have battery % drop issue on reboots. However, miui eu doesn't have any such issue. So, you may consider trying miui eu after trying all custom ROMs to see the difference or else different people may tell you different stories.
Hi. What are the most stable custom ROMs as of now? Also, people who had signal loss problems with stock ROM, did you experience better signal after installing a custom ROM?

LOS-16 based ROMs are very stable, have less bugs.
LOS-17 based ROMs (Android 10) are improving but all have the same source bugs which are slowly being whittled down.
See post #2 and #3 of this thread for bugs and available workarounds:

I'm not aware of any custom roms having improved signal (carrier/Wi-Fi) over stock firmware. You're still using your same stock modem. To the contrary, people on LOS-17 custom roms often have Wi-Fi issues stock firmware does not.
There are workarounds to get it working, but it doesn't improve over stock firmware.
