remove devmode boot screen - Chromebooks

Hi.
So I have a Samsung Chromebook XE501C13. About two weeks ago, my dad needed to borrow my computer but I forgot to warn him about the screen that pops up when you first turn it on. the one that says "OS verification is OFF. press space to re-enable." so my father, being the simple minded man he is, pressed space, thinking it was a valid error message. and because of that, all of my chroots, local data, etc were deleted.
I was wondering if there is something I can do to prevent this from happening next time. Is there a way to make the laptop boot to login automatically without having to press Ctrl+d? I don't want to have to worry about other users wiping my data on accident.

[Q] Sophix Tab-730g - Lost Password, Help?

Hello everyone,
we got this cheap tablet for my niece as a Christmas gift. She put a password on it and now she doesnt remember the password. It is connected to one of my gmail accounts, but I cant even get the tablet to give me an option to bypass device password via my gmail and password.
I have attempted to use the reset button to factory reset the device, but every time it reboots it asks for the password again.
I am about to throw the thing in the trash and tell my niece "sorry, you borked it, too bad so sad" but I thought I would try here before I did that.
Thanks in advance!

I kept messing with it, and after trying the power + volume down process about 25 times I finally got it to take and entered into recovery. It didnt work at all the first bunch of times I tried it, basically this thing is annoying.
Thank you!

So I was having the same problem. It turns out that you do not press the volume up button along with the power button, but instead press the volume button in the middle along with the power button. Found that on a you tube video.
That resets the device to factory settings.
Note: If you have a memory card in the device, take it out before you start all this process so it doesn't lose data.
Sophix Tablet is made by digix media but I didn't find their website helpful to reset the password. Their website had me downloading zip files to my computer, etc. Very lengthy and time consuming.
Hope this helps someone else!

What?! Oneplus X suddenly wipes out all by itself

Hi!
I'm using it now a little less than one year. This morning everything still normal, used the phone and then all of a sudden, I get a screen saying something like "Your device is setup and ready to use. Okay" and I see a screen that immediately makes me worry: no accounts, another launcher, my icons, data and accounts all GONE. What?
I made a screenshot and without much hope hit "reboot". After that, voila, my OLD setup is back again. But after less than 20 minutes, I get yet ANOTHER screen: "Welcome back, guest. Do you want to continue where you left off or ...." you get the point, don't you? Rebooted again.
Now I'm copying all my stuff to SD card (fortunately there's one supported), along with the two screenshots that were not accessible in my setup, but got them copied when the second "wipeout" happenned. What's going on?!?
Thanks!

need an idiot's guide to ROMing an infected Lenovo K30-w

long time lurker, first time poster. someone gave me his broken(?) Lenovo K30-w phone to fix (why?).
i'm looking for a way to load a ROM onto his phone, but via a Mac/PC down a USB, because...
basically, for the first month it was all good, but then the phone started installing apps/games/"virus removers"/etc of its own volition, some would run up his data bills, other randomly disable the WiFi/data etc. I unticked the "install from other locations" thing, but every time it re-ticks itself. i managed to get Malwarebytes installed, which informs me there is 60+ bits of malware on it, but before i can get around to removing it or manually deleting the file in system browser, it detects what i'm trying to do and shuts me down.
so basically, the virus(es) prevent me doing anything that involves downloading an app or doing anything on the phone side that involves WiFi, as it kills the window i'm on, and replaces it with a fake scanner, an app/game or pron.
Also stuck in the same position !
Any help with this ?
Thx

Pattern stopped working

Hey!
I have fingerprint and Iris along with pattern on my phone. Suddently while using the phone, it stopped accepting my pattern (which I use daily, and no, I don't have a case of amnesia). I was dumb enough to restart my phone as some suggested that made the phone accept their pattern again, but now, of course, I'm completely locked out.
-I've tried findmyphone.samsung.com but it only say I haven't activated the unlock feature.
-I've tried entering "adb shell" and then "cd /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases" but get "Permission denied" (while on the lock screen)
-I usually get 3 tried on the pattern, but now I only get 1 try then a 30 second timer.
I really don't want to factory reset via recovery (would that even help?) as I have so much data on my phone I don't want to lose.
Is there ANY way to get into the phone again? This is REALLY frustrating as I'm now locked out because the phone got bugged and suddently, seemingly forgot my pattern. SAMSUNG support claims that it's not their fault that "I" forgot my pattern (I remember it like night and day), and also that I don't have the "setting" for 3 attempts activated (when I clearly do, which I know as I get the prompt daily due to missing a point now and again). Their suggestion is that I turn the phone in for service, but the problem is that I'm catching a flight and moving out of the country in less than 2 weeks, and there is no shop even remotely close to me, so that isn't an option..
I have bills to pay too, and the bank security app is also on my phone.. /:
PS! My phone is not rooted.
Nevermind. I just factory reset as I figured I had a backup. Later (too late) I realized the backup was from November, and that I COULD have made a backup via findmyphone.samsung.com FIRST. So if anyone has my issue, just go to findmymobile.samsung.com and backup, then boot into recovery (reboot, hold bixby button, volume up and power button down, and release power button when the samsung/knox screen shows up), then wipe data. Later you'll be able to use your backup to recover your data and apps.

Need to Wipe Samsung Chromebook 3 V.94.0.4606.28, 64 bit

I have an issue that I think calls for as clean of a wipe as I can do, and start again with Factory Settings. But I will take any advice anyone may have for me.
The problem I am having is caused, I've read, because I put it in Developer Mode when I first bought it. On powering on, I get the page that says OS Verification is "OFF". Then beeps twice, and flashes a black text box, but in upper, left corner. The screen disappears and the next screen appears. It happens fast enough that I can't read the text that may be an error code, I don't know.
That next screen just shows the Chrome logo, then onto the login, and then I'm in.
I read I could change the OS Verification to "on" but I can't because of the unknown text I mention above. I was able to update , but that didn't change the OS Verification screen, the message upper left still appeared, and verification still "OFF".
I did a Powerwash, but that didn't put it back to Factory Settings like I would like as I have thought about getting it cleaned off and giving it to a friend that has no computer. But first, I need to make sure it's actually going to work for her, as good as I can get it to work. I'm thinking the Developer Mode is the issue, and that loud beeping was the first thing that was driving me nuts on reboots. Then I started learning about the Developer Mode, and felt turning it off was best for the CB and I really don't need it. I don't need to side-load, or have it able to load "apps from unknown sources".
I guess I wrote a book, but needed to find someone that "gets" what I'm talking about because I looked all weekend for answers
Thanks in advance for any help
PS that text says something about "gbb.flag in nonzero read-only firmware, id google celes, then some #s and active firmware". That's just all I could get by powering down and up again and reading what I could each time ;(
