Guys lets suport CodeElixir, he just gave up developing OOS because of a bunch of stupid rude kids hating on the early ported ROM
Well some of the members are very entitled and think highly of themselves. Most of the bashers do not even know how to properly do a report and can only do smack against the devs. Some of them just learn how to install a rom but do not know how hard it is do a working port or even develop a working rom.
They only think for themselves without thinking about the feelings of the developers. Heck some of them doesn't even donate to the developers for their hard work. I know some devs can be really rude sometimes but I do get where it is coming from. The pressure to deliver a good stable product in a very short time is very tiring and depressing.
I just wish the admins and moderators do something about this issue of members harassing the community devs. Ban those who talk smack, they just dishearten developers who are just learning or doing their best.
this situation is awful. I did not have time to grab the latest version and the dev removed the download link.
Please if anyone could share the 9.0.4 OOS Port pretty please
The entitlement and rudeness of some people is astonishing. I just read the last few pages of the OOS thread and I'm sickened by some of the posts. The dev should just ignore the idiots and continue doing his godly work. This port was amazing.

Well those people are really ungrateful. They had a chance to use something that is for free but chose to mock the developer instead. I don't know what they were thinking pitting a newly ported rom to nitrogen which was created last year.
I do hope @CodeElixir continues with the ported rom or maybe let someone continue his work if he really is hellbent on stopping the development..
Hope Dev will resume Bug Fixing...
I do hope @CodeElixir continues with the ported ROM too..

@CodeElixir should do whatever he wants. I personally loved his work, just because he put man hours into something he wasn't obliged to do. Like all the developers on this forum. If he has decided that its not worth it, and stop the development, I think that we should all respect his decision and end the discussion here. I also think that this thread is off topic, since XDA is device-only forum. If you want to help the man, donate, pm him, say something nice. Don't open a seperate thread for this.
That's my opinion as always.
i am also with @CodeElixir u made our dream come true, dont break it please bro.

Entitlement is always going to be an issue, and this, for some reason, is especially true on xda. All you need to do is to learn to tell somebody to **** off, be it politely or not
The way I see it is, we have a good selection of stable ROMs, it would be nice to have Oxygen OS, but its not a vital thing that we need right away. I'm happy to wait for the devs to do their awesome work, and just stay on the ROM I'm already on. Its not like our phones are broken and the only saviour is a OOS port!
Its a shame that development has halted on it. Like people have said before, its hard work, and they are doing it off their own backs, and its meant to be something that they enjoy doing, not some job with deadlines and demands. People need to be more respectful!

I'd love a zero tolerance policy: you're a hater, you're banned after one warning. That's the only way to get rid of that selfish kids here and return to a professional and respectful level.
What? He halted OOS? Damn this kids
Was about to try the port and report back huhu
We're on your side ? @CodeElixir
Please don't halt your amazing work because of some of these good for nothing ungrateful duds. ?
What du u think guys? If he wants then he would continuous his job. If not, no need to ask him more. That's respect which u r taking about. So pls stop here.
is there any developer willing to take over his job and continue the OOS port?
Would like to contribute some hard work

Hi, I'm one of the proud owners of a viewsonic G Tablet, and I want ICS. I want you 'points' to help to make a great and powerful tablet that only costs about $260, and MOST IMPORTANTLY I WANT IT TO HAVE ICE CREAM SANDWICH!
To the point: I am offering $40, and I urge other users to put in a pledge for as little as $1, to make an ICS rom with all the hardware working, full usb functionality, and hardware acceleration by the 20th of December.
Features needed to be included:
*=optional
@=Crucial
-Hardware [email protected]
-Camera [email protected]
-USB working with external storage*
-Cyanogen style settings with lots of options
-Equalizer if its not in the OS*
-WiFi working nearly [email protected]
-The internal storage and memory recognition issues [email protected]
-HTC Sense Weather style widgets *OPTIONAL*
-MIC working (Goes hand in hand with Camera working)
-Face Unlock working with camera (IOW: if there is an issue when the os is first ported it needs to be fixed before release)*
-HTC Style mirror app
-Overclocked CPU to [email protected]
-Sleep button/standby/screen off not crashing the [email protected]
-Newest Market
-Backup working*
-Any other goodies you can think of and/or people really want and offer rewards for below
Really hope a dev sees this and wants some cash! Also, if you finish it earlier and/or with some other cool features I might throw some extra money your way. Good Luck devs! if you want to contact me just sent me a message on the forum for my real email.
Count me in...but I think this is a pipe dream!
From what I understand reading many posts here is that Nvidia will not release the hardware drivers for Honeycomb or ICS. Viewsonic has given up on this product.
Even if people manage to port, it will only be a funky interface running on Gingerbread or Fryo drivers. It will be like running Windows 7 on a Pentium III 500MHz hardware....it will run but wont be the same.

I kid I kid. Would be wonderful though
more
if more people put some money into it then it could be a very possible goal, just put in even as little as $10 and it could totally become available
You guys are obviously uninformed. The flashback team is already working on it for free, but they just started a few days ago. The kernel also needs to come out of alpha testing, it seems to be going well though, not too many bugs, so that means soon (like in 3 weeks max) we will have at the very least honeycomb 3.2, if not Ice cream sandwich. Also money won't make it go any faster.
well thanks, but money is always a nice incentive
I tot flashback's team lead just retired? Saw a post on slatedroid this morning.

Me too.
Maybe the $40 windfall will bring them to their senses.
Dan
Seeing that .36 kernel is already in the works for Honeycomb 3.2, they are already working towards making something that should be able to port over to ICS afterwards (hopefully).
well, $40 isn't a huge amount, but if more people said they'd put some cash in 'hint hint' then maybe someone like zyhong would say "eh why not?"
bump for the ics and raised bounty by $20
i'll raise another $20 bucks
Devs over on (the forum that shall not be named) are working their butts off already... FO FRE! But yeah they are working on HC 3.2 and ICS.
Really people?!
People...it's already being worked on! The devs working on this are going as fast as possible but it's a lot of trial and error and it's not their day job!
Money's nice, but it's like a tip. A show of appreciation, more than an incentive. The incentive is just to have it on their own devices!

Not gonna happen
Features needed to be included:
*=optional
@=Crucial
-Hardware [email protected] - Will happen
-Camera [email protected] - Not likely. We don't/won't have drivers for this!
-USB working with external storage* - should happen?
-Cyanogen style settings with lots of options Up to ROM devs. Won't know until after kernel is ready.
-Equalizer if its not in the OS* - Same as above
-WiFi working nearly [email protected] - should happen
-The internal storage and memory recognition issues [email protected] - ?
-HTC Sense Weather style widgets *OPTIONAL* - Doubtful. Not aware of sense on ICS. Use Beautiful Widgets?
-MIC working (Goes hand in hand with Camera working) - Should happen (MIC, not cam)
-Face Unlock working with camera (IOW: if there is an issue when the os is first ported it needs to be fixed before release)* - Again, I doubt cam is likely.
-HTC Style mirror app - ?
-Overclocked CPU to [email protected] - don't know
-Sleep button/standby/screen off not crashing the [email protected] - Will get fixed. This is kind of a "first fix" for the devs as it causes problems in development anyway.
-Newest Market - see below *1
-Backup working* - ?

*1: Please keep in mind that as these ROMs are not registered as compatable devices with Google, technically the use of any Google application is illegal. For the most part ROM devs aren't supposed to include Market, Gmail, etc. in their roms. If Market is included or what version is going to be up to the dev. Also, keep in mind Google has been working to crack down on Market use on non-recognized devices. You may need to use an alternative like the Amazon App Store. I don't like it either, but it is what it is.
Also, on a personal note, WHAT is everyone's deal with the built-in camera? From what little I've used of it in a Gingerbread ROM it's HORRIBLE! Now, what I'm going to work on once we have a stable enough ROM I feel I can test with, is the ability to use a USB webcam! Think, how nice would it be to have it front or rear facing or detachable (use as a barcode scanner?!) and possibly HD! I'm pretty sure it can be done as I think the guys working with beagle board have done it. I'm not very good with this stuff yet, but I think I may be able to hack it!

There is hope, but if you're looking for CM7/9 or any REAL AOSP build, don't expect xboarder to deliver that, I don't think he compiles anything, he's a themer/kanger/(insert less offensive term here). There is hope, but I'm dying to see some actual AOSP builds, GB or ICS.

If you can in a couple words, is the difficulty due to an equivilent of incompatible hardware, whatever the equivalent of a driver is, or the way the software operates in the system? It's obviously not like upgrading windows xp to windows 7
Just curious

By all means, if you want to use this to slam me, sure, this deserves credit, the reason I even said what I said was because nobody here has shown anything that was actually compiled with the exception of faux123, There are no real large improvements done by throwing an HTC Kernel, and a HTC base into a rom, this IS the kind of development I hadn't seen from you. Thus far (with this as the obvious excpetion) all the rom's that have been posted were effectively OEM based rom mashups. I am very impressed, and by all means, keep up the good work on a clean, from scratch rom. (I've seen pretty scary rom "developers" in the past, and I'm cautious at best with most of the developers for this device, and this thread has at least to some degree proved me wrong)
*edit, you should seriously consider contacting Max Krivonos, as he is the maintainer of the MT4G-Slide, and/or kmobs, obviously there are alot of framework differences with ICS, but they could probably be very useful in getting this working 100%.

This is going to be a pure AOSP CM9 Rom. I usually don't post my roms, because they are tailored for my liking. But figured i'd release a new one. So many themed and ported AOSP roms being released i want something that is as close to base without alot of fuzz.
This rom will be my own personal touch, with a few mods to make it run fast and accommodate long battery life.

Me and Snuzzo have been working on the BT issue for a few roms now, and think we all have hit a brick wall. HTC and Broadcom tech support both suck. Me and Bored spent weeks trying to get this fixed on RezRom S4. But we will get it working somehow.

I'm sure you would be happy to have another choice rather than none at all?
OK so after spending all day fixing lil stuff in the background. I decided to for now drop the Avatar Bazooka Launcher. It kept force closing, and i don't want to release a rom with a bad app. I also didn't like the way it played with Aroma installer, and since this is a pure rom with no extras, was no sense in leaving it in there. Please let me know what changes you guys would like.

Unfortunately not many devs do that and insist on adding in 'Google Play' launchers, know what I mean?
Dig around in Launcher2.apk a little bit. You might be amazed out how customizable it is if you must customize
Not Great but shows potential for a daily. Not Linaro Speed. but not far off.
Me too, it's why I have so many wives.

Sweet stuff dragonstalker, I always welcome a new dev to get involved in working on our Rezzy! Don't pay attention to the troll :good::good:
Sweet, any more dev action is welcome. I remember when I used to check the the Rez forum with disappointment and anticipation, often regretting getting the Rezound.
Now I don't even know what I want to flash to my phone, and that's a good thing!

Going to make some changes to the hardware accelerations, add the bravia engine, and try changing the r/w speeds. Hopefully will get this Antutu score up to 6000. Tomorrows going to be a good day. But for now. Gonna curl up with wife and dream about Vanessa Williams :silly:
Oh yeah. And I've already made some changes to the BT config files. See if that gets us any closer to working.

Support
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

[GCC 4.7/O3]TeamCarbon 4.2.2 AOSP Nightlies Calling Fixed!
Im not going to spruce this OP up for now as we are still ironing out some crucial bugs (particularly call audio) THAT SAID, the rom runs FANTASTIC with the exception of this downfall (well the governor switching needs some fixing and gps too...) But beyond that its running great. Huge shoutout to the htcmsm8960 crew Codeworkx, Mrbirdman and all else who are helping push this project forward...As far as im aware this is the first gcc 4.7/O3 build for the one...Anywho, with that said hope you guys enjoy sexy AOSP on this amazing phone. There will be new nightly builds every day so keep checking back at http://goo.im/devs/carbon/m7/testing for the latest updates...Flash latest gaaps with this package. And feel free to let me know of any bugs and/or if you guys would like to try and help tackle this in call audio issue. Thank you very much and let this be the first of a lot of fun to come

Very smooth rom and the only 7.1.1 with working night light
smooth, stable and super fastest rom...
the best nougat rom for flo
Just trying it out, looks pretty smooth and nice for now but I have one question, I've seen that on few other devices CarbonROM supports signature spoofing, but not on flo. Can it be added in the future to this tablet too?
I really do love this ROM. It's never crashed on me, no major hangups. It's super fast and fluid, but I have a couple of minor issues with it.
-YouTube 1080p60fps gives me audio, but all I see is a black screen.
-Watching YouTube at 720p60fps (not lower resolutions) and doing any type of scrolling, be it the comments or split screen, will cause the video to pause until scrolling stops (audio is fine). Hell even tapping the screen stops the video a little bit.
-Opening multiple subreddits on top of one another in Slide for Reddit causes major amounts of stuttering.
So is this a raw performance issue? Can other people with this ROM check for these issues too? Do other ROMs have these issues? I'm thinking about trying Resurrection Remix just to see if such problems exist just for this ROM or for my tablet in general.
Somehow the WiFi on my Nexus keeps disconnecting, does anyone have any idea how to repair it ?
Otherwise it is indeed a very good ROM.
Regards

No, it is not.
I have tried all the ROMs, WiFi works in all of them without problems !
Anyway, I have installed Validus now and there is no problem !

Lol, both ROMs use the same sources, and I wouldn't have released the ROM if WiFi didn't work properly.

I am sorry, I am a noob as far as these ROMs etc., are considered !
The problem may very well be something with my Nexus or the router or something like that.
Once again I am sorry.

Very nice Rom, stable and fluid.
It's los kernel but it would be nice to add dt2w in the next builds. I know glitch and elemental got it, but on stock it would be nice too, thx
Edit: anyone got short info about arkamysaudio.apk? Does it improve sound, does it need a configuration? I killed it for arise and dolby sofar
This rom is excellent, remember it in the past, I only miss volume media control and some tiles. Thank you!
