Unknown Caller Screen Issue - Huawei Mate 10 Questions & Answers

My Mate 10 Pro has seemingly on its own associated a random photo in my gallery to the Unknown Caller screen so when someone calls me on a unknown number, the picture is in the background, here's the issue, I deleted the picture out my gallery & it's still on that screen whenever a unknown caller calls, I also cleared the dialler data & cache, still nothing, anyone got any ideas of how I can remove it? Preferably without a factory reset, thanks.

[Q] Contact info / caller info not showing

I have an Amaze 4G with the following problem:
Inbound calls / messages do not "connect" with the Contact app - the caller ID / message shows "unknown" caller even though the caller / SMS sender is in the Contact list.
By going to the Contact in the list and editing the contact, sometimes they'll start showing up correctly in the Phone / Messaging apps, but then after some time, they stop showing up.
It's the ONLY problem I have with the phone but it's a dealbreaker. T-Mo support is clueless. Please help me solve the problem and keep this otherwise awesome phone!!!

Do you have the number saved on your sim, trying importing them to your phone and on a google account if it's anywhere else.

u have stock or custom rom? cuz I remember once there was a version of Xboarder's rom, beastmod I think, that was not showing the contact name although it was saved in the contact list
Contacts are stored only on Google. There are none on the SIM or anywhere else. Process is:
1. Factory reset phone
2. Log in to Google account
3. Wait for sync
4. Call / message phone
5. Call / message from "unknown" even though caller is in Contacts
Running stock / virgin Sense.
Same here, I haven't even rooted/unlocked the phone (yet), sometime the phone shows the contact, sometime not.
I stored my contact everywhere; sim, phone and google !!!
Have had the same issue. It seems that it only happens to me when I have had data turned off for a while at work.(horrible reception there so I turn off to save some battery) seems to work just fine after about 20 min or so or a restart.
Yep, same here.
How many contacts do you have? For me and my wife the problem seemed to crop up at 5000 contacts.

For me, I have stock rom, and only Google contacts. None on sim, no Facebook, no tmobile backup.

FWIW I don't have 5000+ contacts on my phone, but I have that many on Google. But I think Sense downloads all of them to the phone even if you only select one group.

[Q] Android 4.0.4 Dialler Bug

A relative of mine uses Samsung Galaxy S Duos which runs on Android 4.0.4. Recently, a very curious problem has come up. The dialler shows a red "1" as it would when there is one unseen call log. This happens all the time, even when there is no unread notification or even where there are multiple, it just keeps showing 1 unseen call log. I tried deleting the entire call log, re-starting the phone and clearing all data of the Phone app. Nothing worked. It's really irksome. Please suggest a way that doesn't include factory reset or flash.

[Q] Can't make outgoing calls, call barring active but deactivated...

Hello there,
Thanks for taking a look! I'm on the Note 3 (SM-N9005).
At a certain point I couldn't make calls anymore also messaging seems not to be working
When I try to make a call it stops after 3 seconds and says call barring is active.
I've tried stock rom, reset + erase data. Clean cache. I've tried the MMI codes and through there it says it isn't activated?
Also tried setting my network too GSM only and rebooting.
Still nothing would work.
As a sidenote: incoming calls and messages are working. Also my 4g isn't deactivated so it would be weird if Vodafone would just barricade my outgoing calls right?
I'll call them tommorow to be sure though.
If anyone has any idea on how to get this fixed I would really appreciate your help!

Honor 9 blurry calling pictures

Good morning everybody.
I just got my honor 9 recently and I face a problem with the calling picture which is shown when I call any contact with assigned contact picture or receive a call. The picture is completely blurry so you can't recognize anything. I even tried assigning new a good resolution pictures. Same result. Sometimes when receiving a call the picture is clear but as soon as I answer it gets blurry again.
Any ideas??

Are your contacts stored locally on your phone or on your Google account?
I haven't had any problems with my Google contacts, but I don't store my contacts anywhere else either.
My contacts are stored just locally. But i tried even to copy to google now but its the same result.
I face the same. Did you find any solution yet? Clear pictures for incoming calls and they get blurry once I answer. Also blurry for outgoing calls. Really annoying

Call History / Recent Calls Refuses to Display Actual Call history - Google and Stock

Hi All - I'm really hoping to get some ideas from the forum on this issue as it's been plaguing me for a while and I can't figure it out.
I have a Rooted Samsung S8+ on Nougat 7.0 which root was achieved flashing Partcyborg ROM through Odin. It's commonly used method for those that don't have S8+, the bootloader is locked though.
That being said my issue isn't with the rom / root method, it's with Google Dialer and the Stock Samsung Contacts / Phone application. For some reason I think the Call History backup is corrupt or something like that because no matter if it's an incoming or an outgoing call, my call history and recents menu in either application is blank. For example, if someone called me right now and I didn't answer, I'd see the call in the history as the only call but by the end of the day, or after a restart of the phone... My phone will show no recent calls and provide no record of call history for that call.
Even more strange, I do show a record of calls but they are 14-15 records of calls at random dates, I want to say the most recent is from April. No matter what, they always stay. DOesn't matter if data is cleared, cache is cleared, dalvik-cache wiped, preferences reset, app defaults reset, install/reinstall, install diff versions, change permissions, this happens.
I used SQLlite Browser to go into the database and the DB does show the records I talked about earlier, the 14-15 calls. I've even tried deleting the database in hopes that maybe it'd reset itself. Nope.
This behavior is persistent across device resets, it also occurs when I completely remove Google Dialer Framework and Google Dialer altogether. Im at a loss and trying not to get back to stock.
Any ideas as to where to dig further?
