[H850] No more Automatic Battery Saver in Oreo ? - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hi, I remember that initially my G5 H850 had an Automatic Battery Saver based on the battery percentage,
you could configure it to automatically Turn On the Battery Saver when the battery reached let's say 15%.
But since the Oreo update I no longer see this option in settings.
Now you can only manually turn on the battery saver, and it's really bad because both
my batteries are dying at around 25%, so I never really know how much time I have until it dies.
The Auto Battery Saver set to 30% would have been very nice.
Is it the same for everyone after the Oreo update ? Thanks

I use a h830 and yes is the same

small fix for battery drain in marshmallow till google fixes it

The only foremost reason for the battery drain in marshmallow is the cellular signal
I am using an android one (micromax) and after the update from lollipop to marshmallow my phone is
1. Randomly reboots when I am using it ,when its in charge and also in standby!
2. Next comes the battery drain problem, after the update i saw my battery draining even in standby, i don't know why but few days before i saw that the main reason for the battery drain is not some app its the*cellular signal and WIFI* first of all there is no great way than airplane mode to get rid of cellular signal.
So i used the airplane mode and now there is no battery drain in standby and also it drains less battery on usage of the device without cellular signal so till the google fixes the issue the only way to have the battery stop draining is to put the device in airplane mode
Thats all guys if you have any comments or suggestion let me know. I think this article helped you

Battery saver at night - Is it possible?

MIUI have this feature? I want that smartphone turn off wifi, networks and these stuffs at 11pm and turn it on at 7am. But only when the screen is locked.
I'm having 5% battery drain at night and I think it's just too much.

That is no way to cut the drain since the drain will be much more while using it. Find out what is draining the battery and control it.
However, if you have root, there is an app called LeanDroid on PlayStore which does what you want and much more.

Thanks, but I think you're not understanding.
There's no app or service draining the battery or abnormal battery drain. It's what we expect from a entire night with everything turned on.
What I want is automatically turn features off (something like airplane mode) when the time reach 11pm and these features turned on at 7am, time that I awake.
Probably the drain would be even lower than already it is.

Overnight battery drain.(idle time)

Normal battery drain is 6-7% overnight.Even if i turned on aeroplane mode, the battery drain overnight is 3-4%.
Any Remedy?!
You have to find the cause of the drain. I get a drain of 0.6-0.7% per hour overnight. If that's the level you're at, then you're fine, (I don't know how long you sleep- can't make that calculation). Some setups can go below that but really your phone should be consuming some energy overnight. If it's much higher than that, use gsam battery or better battery stats to figure out 1. No of times each service is waking your device. 2. Are there any apps that are consuming a lot more than everything else. Charge your phone above 90% and let it be overnight as you normally would. What you do after will depend on what you find out, what rom you have, what kernel you have, what your phones unlock status is and what kind of performance/usability you are willing to give up.
PS. Don't turn off sync or turn on battery saver at night. That actually causes some apps to misbehave. As an overall fix , naptime or greenify with aggressive doze are good. Just don't use both at the same time

Severe idle battery drain

I got the phone yesterday, I set it up but haven't transferred my sim yet but I've noticed that the battery drain when idle is quite severe. I've only done the OnePlus transfer. And WiFi has always been on. But this battery drain is not got at all.
Can anyone please advise how to improve it. In fact , I had put it on battery saver mode and it still drained. For example at 10% decrease over 7 hours is not good. I expect a 1-2 % decrease overnight.

Try uninstalling OnePlus Switch. You don't need it if you've set up your device already.

This is just how this phone works, and I recommend you to not expect what you experienced before with your previous phone would happen on this phone. I don't know if one can use Greenify's aggressive doze function without rooting, but it definitely improved the battery drain overnight by a lot on my 7T Pro non-5G McLaren.

Question Refresh defaults to 60hz below 50 percent battery

Can't increase refresh rate higher than 60hz, Happening since last update and Xiaomi noobs aren't giving an update. Setedit settings for refresh rate won't work when battery is below 50, help
i think your battery saver is kicking in at 50% battery or below, battery settings has an option to not lower RR when saver is on, check your battery settings.
