Hello everyone, my girlfriend has an LG G5 and forgot the passcode that she used to unlock her phone. Is there any way to bypass it without a hard reset? She still has access to the Google account associated with her phone. She has a lot of data on it that she doesn't want to lose. Is a hard reset and loss of data the only option?
Thanks

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if it was possible to reset the unlock pin, I understand it brings a little forgot pattern thing up if you use an unlock pattern, however it doesn't do this if you use a PIN afaik. I changed my pin because my little brother had figured it out and I didn't want him to screw around with it, but then forgot it when I tried to get into it later. Panicked for a while and then managed to get in with the bypass lock screen app in the marketplace. Before that I had tried entering the wrong pin like 80 times in hopes it would let me enter my google account or ask for a PUK. Unfortunately it didnt so I gave up and tried like 70 different combinations of what I thought it would've been. Now I've also used that disable lock screen app from the market to make sure I dont get locked out of it again, however I was wondering if it's possible to now reset the pin now I'm into the phone. If i can I'd like to change it to a pattern so I don't end up in this predicament again, I assume I have to factory reset, and if so is there a way to do a complete backup that includes everything except say settings, so it would manage to reset the PIN. It would be a huge headache to factory restore and do all of my customizations over again, not to mention re-downloading every single app.
Thanks,

Now that you are in...

Hi Guys,
As the title is suggesting, my phone has been locked and the only way left to get in to the phone and access my data is using my google account credentials.
I was at a public place and needed to charge my phone so i turned off the data and wifi and set up a pin lock. So later when the phone was charged i tried to unlock it but i seemed to have forgotten the pin. while doing it multiple times i ran out of attempts to be able to unlock the phone using pin. So the only shot i was left with was using my google account info. when i try putting the google info, they show invalid even though i put the correct credentials.
And again my wifi and mobile data are off so even the android device manager doesnt seem to be a way to go.
I tried calling the LG customer service to see if they can help, i explained them the situation and told them i needed my data to stay but the only choice they offered me was a pin that would unlock the phone but also erase everything in it.
Also, I do not have my bootloader unlocked. or anything of that sort.
I will appreciate if anyone can help me getting back into the phone or even helps me to be able to recover the data that i have in the phone. Thank you.
Hi guys, friends phone (Huawei Y6) was stolen, but they found the guys about 30mins later and he got the phone back.
The Google account activity website even said the accounts password was changed, I wonder how. The phone
was locked with a non-common pattern.
Anyway, he tried to login with his Google-account-credentials and got an error. Then we did reset the account-password
by using the non-google recovery-mail since calling the phone or SMS doesn't work without unlocking. But the
phone still declines a login with these credentials and says we should use an account that was used on this phone already.
Last thing we tried was to again factory-reset the phone, ofcourse didn't help either.
So, any way to overcome that security-feature?
Hii all,
As most of the user are using android smartphones and now i am using moto g5 plus so i wanto know more about factory reset protection?
How it works?
Factory Reset Protection is a security method that was designed to make sure someone can't just wipe and factory reset your phone if you've lost it or it was stolen. It's a good thing — it makes a stolen phone harder to use, which makes it less appealing to thieves, and anything that can protect our data on a phone we've lost is welcome. It can become a problem if you sell, trade, or even give away a phone without factory resetting it, though. How it works explains why.
You have to be signed in with the "owner" account of the phone (the one you used to set it up) in order to factory reset it. That means if you give me your phone I can't reset it without you being signed in There are random workarounds on the Internet, but they tend to get patched almost as soon as they are discovered. You'll pretty much need to know the login details for the last account to use the phone before you can reset it and create a new owner account.
Disabling FRP (Factory Reset Protection) is simple. On most phones, it will be automatically done whenever you choose to reset the data through the phone's settings. If your phone has an extra layer of reset protection from the company who built it or has a "find my phone" app from the company who built it, you'll want to disable that manually first.
Dear people,
my huawei mate 10 pro got stolen yesterday. Unfortunately I forgot my password for my google account, so I had to reset the password on my computer. There I could see that the mobile was last online on that day, when I was out. But since I had to reset my password with my second sim card, I wonder if I'm still able to locate it with my google account, since the passwords don't match anymore?
I had my mobile locked with a not so easy pin. I had installed Android 9 on it. How high are the chances the thief will unlock it, to get into my data? I activated remote erase, but as I said, the phone was not online anymore.
I also wonder about google's FRP. So when I have a google account on that phone, the thief won't be able to erase the data? But also, when he unlocks the pin and wants to erase the data, he won't be able to and likely sell it with the data on it?
Lot of questions. Sorry. Would be nice to hear from you!

anyone?
Hi
Your device data probably got erased by a factory reset. A thief would not waste time trying to unlock the phone if it's locked. However, if the phone had enabled usb debugging before you lost the phone, He could remove the password though a pc and have access to your data. It depends on how far you got with the phone. ( if you tampered with it or not).
If you bought a new phone and you are willing to modify it in order to ensure security, you could install a custom recovery such as TWRP and password lock it to prevent factory reset. (That's what i do at least).
