Hello. I have a bizarre touch issue with me new pocophone (miui 10.2). When I'm not holding the phone (if it's on a table or bed), the middle to top of the screen gets totally unresponsive. It almost never recognized my touches. I download touch tester and I checked it. Don't know what to do, if it is software or hardware. . Thanks!
This issue is for tempered glass maybe, use nillkin cp+

The touchscreen on my Verizon G3 started acting up recently. In the lower portion of the screen there's a space where it doesn't register my touches well (take a look at pics the space in between the lines don't really 'register' my touches. You can see in the second pic I'm currently touching the part where its not really working and it looks like I'm touching the screen with two fingers even though I'm only using one). When I type sometimes two letters are pressed at the same time or its like I didn't touch the screen at all which makes typing difficult and takes a lot of time. The whole screen sometimes doesn't hold a touch, like I tap and hold but it only 'holds' like I only tapped the screen. Other times when I'm sliding my finger across the screen, it starts jumping around. Now the top row of the keyboard/screen doesn't even register touches anymore so can't really do much now. I've reset the phone and didn't fix anything. Is this something LG would fix if I sent the phone in? If so how long is turnaround and will I have to reset it back to stock/unroot it?
if you have any type of glass screen protector on, take it off and verify the issue.
some tg screen protectors are junk, and have caused issues like this.

I had a $5 glass screen protector on it from ebay and thought that was the problem but when I took it off the problems ensued
Some g3s do have or develop touchscreen issues. Check under the back cover that there is nothing putting pressure on the display from behind, like a swelling battery.
It is probably a warranty issue, though.

Hi,
so I bought my G965F/DS a month ago and am very happy. Except for the miscalibrated touch screen.
Whenever I touch the screen, the recognized position is off by approx. 1/4th inch to the upper right. This causes serious typing problems etc.
I use a protective glass but checked with and without it - no difference. Touch sensitivity does not cause the issue either. I run magisk rooted stock room with exposed.
Is there any calibration tool for the display available?
Thanks!!
anyone?
Never seen a capacitive touchscreen needing recalibration, I'd take it back and get it replaced under warranty... Something is seriously wrong with the hardware.
I am on 9.6.22.0 Global Stable
The touch is not smooth sometimes.. When swiping, i think it skips some touch near the edges and thus hampering the continuous flow of touch ..
I got this touchscreen issue where the sides of the screen is not as responsive as the middle screen. Its very strange its hard to scroll in any app from sides, have to scroll through middle part. Its very annoying
Same goes for keyboard if you use Q A L P, backspace and shift key which are near edges are not responsive as middle keys of keyboard
I tried using Real Drums it has touch delay near edges, any idea how they are gonna fix the touch screen issues?
I have exactly the same issue. I think its hardware not software because i installed lastest miui9 , miui10 and lineageOS and the issue persists.

Maybe it's a driver issue. Wait for new official builds
same issue
Follow the instructions here, to file a proper bug report that the POCO devs can analyze.

Do factory reset your device. Before factory reset, do backup your data. I already did and getting better fluent of touch. Actually I am telling you after factory reset and using over 20 hours. Till now I am getting better touch response than before. I got call from poco India support( as I complained against touch issue.) , they told me to do that. I am on Miui 9.6.22.
Just do and test.
Hey, I've been using the Poco f1 since february 2019, I very quickly switched over to Pixel Experience. And I've been having an issue (Don't think it was a problem in the beginning), where the notification shade was being pulled down randomly while touching the screen (no matter where). Tried changing kernel, didn't work. Changed to lineage, not sure what I did, but there was like 2 sec delay, phone was super slow. Then I tried rooting back to Miui (newest Beta and then an older version), beta put my phone in infinite bootloader, the stable one had some kind of issues aswell. Any help?
Note : After I did the session with changing the roms, I decided to go back to Pixel experience with Android 10 Beta version, and my phone gets a seizure if its gets a notification (screen just turns on and on quickly for the duration of the notification pop up).
Cheers
Faced this before on PE. Turns out extra sensitivity to touch was caused by my tempered glass. You can never trust those ₹100 tempered glasses for this reason.
Changing the tempered glass fixed it for me. Not sure if that's the case for you.

Unfortunately, I don't have nay tempered glass applied
i am facing the same issue !!!
all i know if I clear cache / delvik and stays ok for a while!
otherwise notification panel quickly pulls its self down in a flickering speed!
its worse on Optimus drunk kernel but a bit better on Franco!
i believe its due to their latest switch to miui10.3.7 touch drivers!
can you try June/july kernels and check ?
on twisted kernel (driver of miui9.x) i didnt face such issue but that kernel was draining battery on my Havoc!
i am using poco since march19 and until Sept everything on custom rom was OK! ( i have 9H glass on)
I am using the Indian version of LG G8X Thinq purchased during the Big Billion Days sale on Flipkart.
I am on the firmware version V20e- IND-XX and have been noticing the two below issues.
1. As soon as I place a phone call/Whatsapp call, the screen turns itself off immediately. I have to press the power button once or twice to turn it back on to understand if anything happened or not.
2. When I double tap to sleep, the phone turns off the screen but somehow hasn't gone into sleep, because the screen doesn't turn back on when double tapping to wake. Additionally, pressing the power button once doesn't help either. Instead it seems that the phone then turns to sleep mode and clicking the button again (in total twice) turns it back on.
This is bothering me a lot and it really feels unpolished. Could it be a home screen app/launcher issue?
Is anybody able to resonate with this issue on their phones as well?
I'm going to try a different launcher meanwhile to see if this solves the issue but let me know if I am missing anything or if there is any other workaround.

Are you using any tempered screen glass or protector that is not made for this model. This happened to me initially when screen guards / tempered glass made specifically for this model were not available and I applied a tempered glass of another phone with the same size but with black borders. I later found that the black border blocks the proximity sensor which switches off the screen immediately when you place a call. Use a compatible tempered glass / protector which are now available on Amazon or use one with no borders and check if it solves your problem.
It solved mine.

Alas the screen protector. Removed and things are better. Haven't faced it since then.
Thanks for suggestion.
I made a window around the sensor by cutting the screen protector. It works.
