My main issue was gps 3 times i sent to service . They changed with new one however i lost 3 months. I am reside in us. Otherwise it was a great phone.
We'll check it out in a few months when it's released. I have had many Sony Ericsson/Sony phones and they all worked fine regarding GPS.
Well , i had only experience xz premium they had to replace with new one.

No the GPS does not work this time. It has been confirmed by Sony that they will be releasing the phone without a working GPS.
Hope that helps.

Here is a link to gpstest, in my opinion the best app for seeing how your gps works, when xperia 1 is out. GPSTEST is open source and free.
You get it via f-droid or playstore.

Anyone tested which positioning systems are supported, because some sites say Galilei and others are supported, other sites say only gps and glonass is supported.

Thank you for your screenshot. And it's answering my question. It's clearly showing that the Galileo system is supported on the xperia 1.
Would you mind to put a second screenshot here (gpstest, not sky view, but the status view)?
Status view for knowing if dual-frequency GNSS is supported by the xperia 1.

Thank you again for the second screenshot (and so fast). Sad to see that the xperia1 doesn't support dual-frequency GNSS.
As far as I understand it should be possible to have dual-frequency GNSS with the hardware of the xperia1.
It seems that Sony has to do something on the software side to get dual-frequency GNSS working on the xperia1.
I've never had any GPS problems with my Sony Ericsson/Mobile phones. And the GPS works fine on my Xperia 1.
Well lyou guys were so lucky .?

My wife has a Sprint Mogul from her office. What "GPS" functionality does the new HTC ROM add to her stock device?
From the HTC website, it states:
"Adds advanced GPS functionality including the software for Sprint Navigation."
She would most likely be using Googlemaps or iGuidance on her device.
I know my Tilt has a built in GPS, and I can use any GPS software I install on it. Does it add this functionality to her Mogul?
Thanks!

For real? (seriously) Because that's the one thing we thought her phone was missing in functionality.
I use sprint Navigation by Telenav on my mogul (comes with the leaked 3.16 rom) Im sure its in the new rom as well and I use it all the time and it works awesome. you can put what ever gps on it you want to.

Do you mean you can use what ever GPS software using an internal GPS (like the tilt)? or do you mean I have to pair it with an external bluetooth GPS?
Sorry about the questions, just trying to make sure I understand what functionality is added.

I can confirm that the New Sprint ROM and Titan internal GPS has excellent functionality (much much better than the 3.16 leak)..I like live search myself and can center on GPS in as little as 5 seconds.
Does anyone have firsthand experience with using Google Navigation on the various Gingerbread ROMs out there?
I'd really like a CM7 or MIUI ROM but it seems like their GPS, even though it locks, doesn't seem to play well in Navigation. Thanks.
The gps problem is a hardware problem not a software problem meaning no matter how well devs make a rom the physical gps antenna is not capable of working to the same quality of the rom
Unfortunately none of the GB roms are going to match Froyo roms in terms of GPS compatibility and accuracy. Moreover, they all use the same hack so gps performance between the GB roms will be close. Unless Samsung and T-mobile release an official GB rom, there will always be little querks here and there. If you rely on GPS, I'd stick to a Froyo rom or buy an external bluetooth GPS.

On GB ROMs it's a software problem.
My current Froyo ROM has near perfect GPS for Navigation, and I never applied the hardware antenna fix.

same goes for you, which is why you shouldn't talk as if you know everything ..... the hardware fix is the only solution so far if your on GB, I'm on GB and have tried every rom that say gps fixed and if you consider 220 to 40 meters accurate (721 ft to 131ft) then go for it otherwise zip it!! IF THE OP DOES GET A SATISFYING GPS ON GB THAT MEANS HIS VIBRANT WAS MADE AFTER OCTOBER!!

The hardware fix and the GB GPS issues are independent of each other. It's true that the hardware fix will increase your SNR for your satellite signals across all ROMs, but the underlying issue with GB is that the agspd settings are off because of a lack of drivers, and thus adjusting your antenna is not a true "fix" for any GB ROM.
I misunderstood your original post since it wasn't answering my question. If you had said "I'm on GB and have tried every rom that say gps fixed and if you consider 220 to 40 meters accurate (721 ft to 131ft)" to begin with, then I would have understood. I appreciate it though.

It only doesnt work for me because according to another thread i read vibrants made before october 2010 have junk gps antennaes that require the fix but your right i should've explained what i meant better and this means your vibrant is more capable than mine so those gb roms that say gps fixed may work for you

isn't it funny how that worked out, I bought my vibrant sooner thinking the newer vibrants were made better because they'd have to undergo more testing before being completely mass produced but instead the later vibrants had revisions on the gps antennae made

Hi guys I wrote to Sony asking about plans on upgrading to jelly beans our tablet and this was the answer I got:
Thank you for contacting Sony Support.
I understand that you want to upgrade the Android from Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwitch) to Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Regretfully, due to all the variables involved with, testing, manufacturing, and distribution, we are not able to provide any definite release dates. However, the update will be available very soon and you will be notified with the notifier in the Tablet.

Well that is good news. I recently bought the tab and I love every bit of it. Haven't had any wireless issues. I really hope when sony releases the next update they also enable this device to control PS3. In my opinion that's the major hurdle right now in realizing the full potential of this device as a media controller.

I know what you mean with the wifi issue - you are connected (wifi icon is present and blue and wifi says 'connected') but basically you have no communication.
somebody recommended "advanced wifi lock", free from Google Play and I'm running that now, so far it seems to fix it.

I'm very happy with my Tablet S, I have had the wifi stall on occasion but a quick off/on fixes it for me, think its happened no more than 5-6 times since I got the tablet.
I'm just hoping to root my official ICS and get write access to the sdcard, I've tried an unofficial CM10 rom on my Motorola Atrix and Jelly Bean with Google Now is definitely a mobile experience.......
But I'll take a Tablet S update for sure.

Guys,
EU version started shipping with ROM Omate_TrueSmart_20140328.182336_V2.0 build
Are the sensors working? if so, can anyone upload the ROM for all the poor people with dead sensors.
NB. i tried every single ROM available in this forum and no luck.
Thanks
my watch is Omate 2100mhz 1/8GB from china with Chinese ROM
That's actually a great question.

I am away on business at the moment but will see if I can get some time to dump It and upload it for you very soon. Please let me know if you manage to get it in the mean time.
Thanks.
I just need to verify a few things before I upload it. If everybody will be patient, I will be able to prepatch it as well.
Also, just because it's newer doesn't mean anything. 0328 may have more issues than a merged firmware based on something older or based on something that doesn't even come from Omate. The 512/4 working sensors is a perfect example. That doesn't even use Omate's kernel but a kernel from a different brand.
