Can anyone tell how many hours they get before battery is 0% from playing graphic intensive games? pls also tell me the name of the game that you used to test
playing fortnite low settings + bluetooth controller + 20% brightness + battery saver on + miui.eu rom + stock kernel + 60fps mod i get about 2 hours with about 25-30% of the battery gone
Form 100 to 1 percente 25% brightness ultra graphics about 3 to 4 hours
With 25% brightness playing Ragnarok M from 100% to 0% about 9 hours (mobile data) to 11 hours (wi-fi).

I used to get 6+ hours of PUBG (ultra, realistic, smooth) on MIUI 9. Since MIUI 10 I guess I get somewhere around 4 hours.

[Q] best ROM for best Batterylife+ other tips&tricks to do it more battery friendly?
Hi!
I was wondering if someone can recommend the most battery friendly ROM out there for the moment for Xperia S?
I wonder since I have had both GB and ICS from Sony and I don't feel that they are that good as the Xperia Play was or are that smooth as users write that it is, it jsut feels like it's a hype about all that :/
And for the moment I got KA's latest ROM+kernel and it isn't good enough battery wise, and I'm now wondering, if someone can give me tips about the most battery friendly ROM out there for Xperia S or if Custom-ROM users can report their batterylife and with which ROM and Kernel+ if you use some other tweaks.
and more than ROM+kernel, feel free to give me other tips and tricks about saving batterylife.
For the moment I have turned the light down as much as I can, don't have any live wallpaper, turned ouf Data+everything else and it's still eating battery and the device battery life is the worst in my whole phone history, even my Nokia 3310 was doing better than this :/
Thanks in advance for answers.
Best regards RazerBlader and excuse me for my bad Enlgish, I tried my best.
decreasing CPU speed and LCD brightness !!!
hey bro...how are you...first i want to tell you that i had the same problem...upgrading to android 4 was terrible cuz i had just 300 mb ram free...on gingerbread i had 400-500mb free...
2) the performance of gb is much better than ics...so after trying some kernels...different roms...i just hold my way from changing roms e.t.c.
i decided to flash the ( KA10 speed rom+ics kernel) ..first you have to unlock your bootloader and root your device..
here comes the interesting part....download CPU tuner...free of charge!!!!
and set the min. frequence of your cpu to 192MHz and max 1GHz.......1GHz is totally enough...decrease the profiles you youse....like the screen off ...set it to just 192MHz single core!!!!
BTW all settings are with just one core running.
after testing these setting i got this result:
2 days 19 hours 52 min 34 sec with Battery...still 30%::::
Display was 1 hour and 23 min on with a brightness of 25% ...totally enough...at night when chatting on whats app...brightness 0% and everything is clear.
music player 2 hours
calling 37 min.
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
so with stock ICS without changing anything..and without a cpu tuner:
13 hours 18 min 3 s with battery
i got
display 25 % just 39 min on
music 20 min
and calling 17 min
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
in few words...if you don't use your phone much ...these setting are very helpful for you....or you can decrease it a bit more...
and if you need speed you can boost it up with a click.
with 192 MHz singlecore...you get perfect sound with music player screen off and its fluent and smooth playing...
IN fact:
less speed---more battery life--not so smooth --but ok
more speed ----less battery life---soo smooth like baby oil..hehe...and Nitro .
_________________________________________________________________________________________
use the speed of xperia s on demand....i mean just when you need it.
i hope i helped you out

Oh, tanks a bunch, it really helped me a lot since I didn't even thought about this, and I will use CPU tuner without eving consider not to and it was the best advice i have eard in a real long time, and i can leave with the none-smoothness and I bet it will perform even better with that app on JB when CM10 is more stable so I definitely gonna go with your advice and thanks once again, I really appreciate it a real lot!
And you really did helped me out since i bet this is all it needs since the hardware is very battery hungry and don't that battery friendly at all as you wrote
Only time I bet that we gonna use it is when we can hook the phone up as a computer with the Linux-project that is going on, other than that, I don't feel that I have the need of this power more than in games when playing, and when it comes to get the better resolution and smoothness through HDMI to the TV, especially with the XBMC-app running
Thanks once again a bunch!
another advice
hey bro again...
sorry for the double post...but i have no permission to change my own post...anyway..
I just wanted to give you another hint for even more battery life..
a few minutes ago...i read the new Speed Kernel v3.1
it has VOLTAGE CONTROL....you can control the voltage "the energy that your battery "eats","uses" control.
doom kernel also has this feature in his own kernel..but believe me you will have just failure and errors with doom lords kernel.
i respect his work..but i just want to help you ..from my own experience.
so speed kernel has a flash able and also a fastboot file...but a advice you to use the flash method.
dont forget.....use it at your own risk.

XSX kernel v4 by mericon.
interested to know this too.
I'm currently running totally stock again at the moment and it's the best battery life I've ever hd. The phone lasts all day, with everything turned on (data/WiFi/sync), sending some texts, couple of calls, little bit of internet browsing for work, and listening to music to and from work. by the end of the night, I'm usually down to around 35% battery now, whereas before i;d be down to say 5% with everything turned off all day.
but I'm wondering if i can get even more out of this firmware if i install customer kernel, so that i can freeze junk apps/processes and use setcpu to reduce the CPU load when the screen is off (i can envisage getting 2 days use out of the phone this way).

Check out the attachments.. Good 40-50 mins of calling, minimum 2hrs of music playback and a little temple run and major mayhem.. Captured 13 pics and 3 min video in full resolution and here is the time it lasted : 1day 17hrs.. With 5 % still to spare
Edit : With 4hrs 26 min of on screen time !!

Battery time depends of phone personal usage - what apps You are using, how close You are to the mobile access point, are You using wifi or 4G, are You play games, listen music, watch movies etc.
As I have disabled all used apps, installed greenify and leandroid, don't listen music, play games or watch videos, so battery time (about 2 days) is fine for me.
I get around 4,5 - 5,5 hours SOT, performance is very good but yeah a bit overpriced. I got a deal at 430 dollars so was ok for me.

i don't play games
maybe at the end of day i watch some youtube some day don't
all i do is some web browsing reading and chat facebook
and taking some pictures from the field cause i'm mining /geology engineer
I don't play games as well, also I don't have greenify or something like that. I don't sync anything with google, gps ist disabled.
When using it a lot I get up to 6 hours SOT, then it lasts for one full day.
Sometimes I use it for two full days with 4-5 hours SOT.
Performance is very good and fluent. But I can't judge games.
Hello,
I'm looking for a rom and a good kernel that is very good on battery life. Also I want to try out the debloated MIUI. Where can I find it?
And is it true that the MIUI rom is the best for battery life?
try Xiaomi Eu rom ,with notification mod and restricted every app that you don't need so much. you might wanna clean rom more ,use lucky patcher and cleaned the rom. i did it my self.. trust me much better..
I am myself testing with Pixel Experience and the LKT magisk module. so far 2h of screen on time with only 20% battery drain, so i'd expect 8 to 10 hours of SoT just like that.
I've also heard malakas kernel has superceded Sphynx/FrancoKernel as the most battery friendly kernel you can install, but i have not tested that.
In the past, xiaomi.eu has given me better battery life than lineage/phh-treble in previous devices ( Mi MAX 3 ) so maybe combining xiaomi.eu + malakas kernel + lkt and maybe disabling half of your cores would give you a lot more SoT. I'll definitely post my findings in a few weeks on the SoT thread after i compare my current setup vs what i've just proposed.

At 299 euros, it's cheaper than getting, let's say, the BQ Aquaris X2 or the Zenfone Max Pro M2 for some unholy reason. and as a glorified Discord machine and music player... 2 high perf cores and 2 low perf cores are more than enough. and i get a battery boost on top of that!

There is this app called Naptime from the author of Franco Kernel that forces doze no matter what as soon as your screen goes off. so that should also help with miui rom sleep delays.
as for running themn on a lower frequency, i've found that chrome loves crash (locking the whole system up with it) if i make them go slow enough, so disabling half the cores at the stock speed seems to be doing the trick for me. Maybe both can be done within reason for some extra gains though
i think you should use revo os or miuipro. And uninstall apps magisk module terminal debloater or es file explorer.I am used pocof1 basic debloat.xml import terminal debloater and after other apps opened system apps and priv apps es file explorer andddddd delete folders

Considering deep sleep, would it be beneficial to go with NOS and Malakas kernel for even better battery? I mean there should be less bloatware and deep sleep could be less of a problem.
