EU ROM to US model - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Hello guys, my father can buy US model (US998) for a great price, but as we live in Czech Republic and there is no Czech language present on the US model, is it possible to flash EU RO there? Thanks

No. North America variants are not compatible with any H930 variants' firmware.

No, if you do that your phone will become a useless brick. You can only install RM-820 ROMs.
And as far as I know there is no way to unlock AT&T L920 yet. So, I'm not sure how you plan to use your phone outside of USA.
This is so stupid from MS. Window 7.5 has all lang you want to use.

Not so. The languages included on a specific phone are determined by both carriers who branded it and the maker of the phone. AT&T phones are traditionally lean on included languages.
My last phone "Samsung Focus" from AT&T running window 7.5 and you can select any language you prefer.
Case in point:
Nokia Lumia 810 (on T-Mobile): all languages
HTC 8x (T-Mobile variant): only 5 European languages
Another case in point:
AT&T Lumia 920: tiny number of languages
Rogers Lumia 920: huge number of languages, including Polish
Easy to blame Microsoft, but this is not a Microsoft issue, it's one with the handset maker and the mobile operator, as another poster noted.

Flashing different region Rom

Hello,
Currently I have an imported unlocked phone from France 1232.2109.1242.1001 and I was wondering if there is any downside to flashing a different region rom from 1232.5951.1249.100*.
Do they allow english and support the sim unlock?
I live in Australia and I'm on Telstra, but I really don't mind losing the 4G capability for an updated rom. Since 4G isn't really supported everywhere and is a battery killer. My phone is a rm-821 model
Should I just bite the bullet and flash stock AUS rom and wait? Or will the new roms work?
Thanks

I personally flashed the latest unbranded AUS ROM over my 920 and Im going to stick with that ROM gets updated on Navifirm or released OTA.
The only ROM's available with the latest update seems to be some North African carriers, Belgium, O2 (Europe) and Orange (Europe) plus the American model RM-820 which wont work on our handsets. I would wait if I were you. Im not sure if there will be any problems with selecting a different carrier unless it stops certain frequencies from working that Telstra require.. eg. 850MHz for 3G/H+ and 1800MHz for LTE/4G. I doubt that would be an issue though.
If you do flash a new one, can you keep us updated on how well the ROM works?

UK O2 / Tesco Mobile users

I have a LG V20 H990ds International variant, Taiwan firmware, rooted.
As the V20 was never released in the UK or Europe I'm trying to change the localisation / region to the UK / Europe.
I would appreciate any UK G5 owner - preferably on O2 or Tesco Mobile - uploading a copy of their /cust/ folder so I can make some comparisons and see if I can get anywhere with this.
TIA

Best firmware/rom for H930DS in Europe?

Hi,
What firmware/rom do you recommend for a H930DS used in Europe?
The one i have now is imported from Hong Kong with firmware V21d-HKG-xx. I consider a different firmware/custom rom but only if there is an advantage (ex if VOLTE/wifi-calling works).
I live in Denmark.
Kind regards
Christian
Hi there.. I also have the h930ds from Hong Kong.. after trying multiple stock ROMs.. the only one that gave me volte options on the menus was the Taiwan one..
The only one working properly is the BoomBox rom, as far as I know.
