Yesterday I received this update which is of 2.91 GB. On the first glance I thought it was a Pie Update, but while reading the details it only contained some security fixes and February patches. Did anyone else received this update and know what it contains? I mean just for some security fixes, how can the update be of 2.91 GB?
Yes I got this update
I was also surprised to see a security patch update of 2.91 GB but after updating my battery backup improved. It was already good before but after updating standby battery is really good.
Just hoping it should not affect after pie update ?
Nice to know that there are some improvements apart from just security fixes only in this update. Even then, this doesn't explain this huge size.

Update 8.2.0.155
I think this update for roll back from emui 8.2 to emui 8.1 for honor 8x bcz pie update will rum on emui 8.1 not on emui 8.2......now i think pie will come on our devices in 5-10 days...
Weird. I thought the pie update would just replace the current rom. It wouldn't matter whether EMUI version is 8.1 or 8.2.
Anyways, eagerly waiting for the pie update. Let's hope we get it soon.

So far, pie beta is amazing. Battery life is great and phone feels more responsive. Can't wait for the complete thing.
Also, gaming performance is great, and camera colours have been toned down a bit, which produces more natural images, and if you like using ai camera, colours are also less intense. All in all, solid update. You should not have worries about pie.
Is pie beta released?

For those who participated in the beta, yes.
As far as I see, they released final version today.
Ohh nice. In India, I don't see it got released. Maybe in couple of days it will be released here as well.

Are there any bugs so far? Is the camera working properly? Ive seen some posts about buggy wifi or gps - have you experienced any of these so far?
Thanks!
does this by any chance unlock band 20?
No unlocked band 20, no bugs and camera excellent.
I flashed the android one in my mi 5x, found that the wifi could connect but no access to Internet
flashed. everything is working flawless! awesome "port". feels like original rom! (which it actually is) camera is as good as on stock! battery too!
is everything working as intended? I'm planning to buy a new device soon. mi 5x is cheaper than mi a1 lol
it supports OTA Updates? (official updates, of course)

It said that "Doesn't support OTA Update"
That's good!:good:
Can anyone confirm if future updates from Mi A1 say for example android O can be ported to Mi 5x as well just like for this one?
Fingerprint problem
I flashed this port. And I don't have fingerprint. I don't have it in settings. Anywhere. Should it work on this firmware?
UPDATE
I can update OTA?
Anyone flashed October ota, hmmmh does this port also support A/B partition??
Its horrible Ota notifications was here but don't know it will caused when i downloading that
Hey I just heard from digit.in that xiaomi is rolling MIUI 9.5 based on Android 7.0 to 30 of it's devices including our beloved redmi 3s series. If nothing went wrong, it would be released within few days.I think we can expect some more roms for our devices now. Cheers:laugh:
Yeah it really must be truth. Stable 7.0 without testing in dev builds.
Here it is. As you see still 6.0 and yeah, still almost year old security patch.
http://bigota.d.miui.com/V9.5.1.0.MALMIFA/miui_HM3SGlobal_V9.5.1.0.MALMIFA_4cc6983736_6.0.zip
All Hail To Xiaomi For this.. ??
Well that's what they said
no 7.0 for Redmi 3s!

F__k Xiaomi
Was my first Xiaomi, and now is my last!!!!
Never never Xiaomi again!!
Guys they sell great value for money products.. u can always change the software but what matters is the hardware.
Take the example of leco le max 2 it has snapdragon 820 at a price range of 10500 at banggoods, no one can match.. To its performance per dollar ?..
But still 6.1
?
I am cool with my phone and thank xiaomi because of it selling so many phones we have got such a great community on xda..
I have my pixel but still use my redmi 3s as it being my first phone.
Sent from my Google Pixel 2 XL using XDA Labs
Someone actually know when would android nougat be available on this device?
its a shame, that they not even update the security patch level: still from 04/2017!!!
Otherwise:
i love MIUI - i don't need Nougat/Oreo...
everything work perfekt for me. But Performance and Akku is better in LOS and co...
yup I really hate xiaomi for not providing at least one android upgrade and for this ancient security patch. the moderators on miui forum are very rude one word against xiaomi and baaaam instant ban. They are bootlickers of xiaomi. I also hate ugly round green coloured notification toggles. and with every stable update new bloatwares and no option to remove them and also plenty full of ads
Never

Xiaomi is fooling us by upadting MIUI version. They are not updating Android version.
To everyone complaining about miui. It's true that it's a bad OS but not ****ty. As a matter of fact, MIUI is far more stable than any of the custom ROMs available. Xiaomi instead of bumping the android version from marshmallow, keeps increasing the stability with marshmallow which isn't bad. And those suffering from bloatware, use modded miui like Xiaomi.eu or miuipro.
Official MIUI with Android 7.0 or higher will NEVER come to the 3S. Just flash official LineagOS 14.1, is as stable as the stock ROM, you'll have decent notifications and no bloatware.
The MIUI update 9.5.1 was actually pulled back and made nightly due to critical bugs.
http://en.miui.com/thread-2160466-1-1.html
The update was on Android 6.0.1 (obviously) and with April Security patch ( 2017 not 2018 )
So in short use Custom ROMs and be happy with the minimal bugs and in return get solid performance and stability.
My recommendations : crDroid 3.8.5 OFFICIAL

It's been 2 months since Android Pie appeared.
I asked through Samsung Member, from Romania, if they can give me any informations when they will release the new software.
Do you have any new informations?

Haven't seen anything myself. Last I read it was being tested internally but outside of that nothing...
I would just keep checking the news sites (I use sammobile, google news and other similar sites) to see if there are any updates. If something does come out news wise it will create a lot of discussion.
It took them 6 months to get the S8's upgraded to Oreo if I remember correctly, the fact there's test builds out there for the S9+ already is a good sign it may happen in less then 6 months...

They will take a long time to release pie, atleast they can give 8.1 which has better sound quality in Bluetooth compared to 8.0 & is refined in many terms or camera qualities of Note 9 etc

You really need better sound quality over better battery life, maybe some improvements in camera and dark theme?

So like would you rather them work on 9.0 and get it right or waste resources on a 8.1 build that's only gonna get updated to 9.0 shortly after anyways? You make no sense whatsoever.
Well I think They'll roll pie after S10 release,Its already 6 months since the phone launched,Can't they give one incremental update ?
It would be a waste of resources for not much gain. They are already working on test 9.0 builds, I'd rather they focus their resources there.
What improvements to bluetooth audio are on 8.1? I can't find anything documents other then supporting devices will show their battery level in the BT quick tile on 8.1.
He's referring to pixel specific Bluetooth fixes in 8.1. it seems to be a common misconception with s9 users on xda and Reddit.

No worries I've been really frustrated with this myself so I decided to do some digging. You can install it now but it's up to you if you want the bugs or wait until OOS or stable.

Hi, I already update to Android 12 and there are not many visual changes because of the One UI layer, but I wanted to ask if you know anything about an update to Android 12L, I wish you could have an interface like the stock one. Greetings to all from Latam

I downloaded it in the USA this monday. Apps and web pages seem to load a bit more smoothly and quickly, in my experience. I haven't noticed any other differences, but I haven't hunted for them, and I'm using Nova Launcher, which may be hiding any potential cosmetic changes.
