Hey,
I flashed lighting rom yesterday and was my first custom rom I have ever experienced. I love it, however battery life is worse than stock rom and I have done a recalibration of the battery. Is there something im not doing because I was lead to assume that my battery life would improve.
If there is something I am not doing, please enlighten me.
Thanks

From my experience a custom rom uses power pretty much the same as stock but once you root the phone you can freeze processes which then save the battery.
On stock I was getting screen on time of about 4.25 hours but now on villain rom I got just over 5 and still had 22% battery left.
I use ant tek app manager to freeze the processes.
I am sure people are going disagree with me here but I really think people are expecting a little too much out of this liddle-o-battery, if your phone is running at 1.2 all the time then its gonna suk-da-juice. I don't pick ROMS based on its battery performance as most now have battery optimisations cooked in as soon as they are found anyway. I just make sure I have some practical SETCPU profiles set to keep those megahertz at bay but also charge my Phone at work so it don't cost diddly anyway.
I also have a spare batter just in case
When the phone turns on, the camera makes a noise like it is coming on, is this normal? If not this could be it, however I have also noticed that the drain is absolutely massive when the screen is on (almost 10% in 20min)

To have ANY idea about whats going on with your phone post screenshots of settings > about phone > battery.
Of both the graph and of the list of %'s
Also what rom/kernel/modem
Only thing which is suspicious is that display is a lot higher than normal, possibly due to the crt bug where auto brightness is not very good, have now set it to manual.

Not a clue, without screenshots I cant know how you are using your phone etc
Fair enough, I may see how my use is tomorrow, I have installed juice defender so hopefully that will help things, I really like this ROM
I flashed litening rom 2.0 then cwm flash update 2.1 + 2.2 coming from stock rom noticed a battery life increase of about 50%.
hey
just flashed toxic "crazy8" rom and im having some battery issues.
i also flashed the immortality kernel by team whiskey (PROPS)
so the phone is wicked but the battery is killing me like 4 hours the phone dies. since my job involves gps being used i can understand it will die faster then usual but this fast ?
anyways i dont want to switch roms, cause i like it but any tips and things to improve battery would help
thanks.
I am running it now and it should not be dying that fast. You may want to reflash it. I remember in the past I flashed one of the themes once and it destroyed my battery life.

well bro there are also more problems, it seems the phone is shutting off and reporting the wrong battery stats. so for example it will shut down on low battery and when you turn it on it has like 40% battery still in it ?
and then its freezing like crazy and stuck forever.
havent rebooted yet but will keep you posted once i do it this weeked.
hopefully
I recommend you switch to Bali 1.8.8uv or Bali X 1.2 if you want improved battery life. Immortality has always been a bit buggy for me, crashing when multiple apps are open and other little issues.
Also, it sounds like maybe your battery settings need to be reset. You can do this with the Battery Calibration app from the market. Just follow the instructions.
Hello every one,
I am facing poor battery life with my x10 mini pro. Even I had my battery replaced recently. But still, the battery life is just about the same.
I tried following things...
1. Turning down the brightness down.
2. Turning off the data, background sync, 3g
3. Uninstalling the apps that runs on background
4. Deleting battery stats after installing new ROM (CM7 2.2.0)
I typically use my phone for 1hour of calls, 30mins of browsing, 1hour music playback, <20mins of gaming. And the battery will be drained in less than 8 hours.
And, another weird thing is, the battery fills up very very fast. It will take like 25mins to get to 100% from <15%.
Please, guide me what to do. This has been a serious head ache for me. Will flashing back to Eclair, Donut will solve the issue?
Thanks.

I am having the exact same problem!
I suggest flashing back to MiniCM7-2.1.9, my battery life was REALLY good on that version. But I updated to v2.2.0 yesterday and now I have the same battery problem as you. The rom does run faster and I also noticed a few bugs fixed, such as the keyboard light, but battery life is just really bad for me.
If u dont use dsp manager then remove it,because many users hve reported that dsp manager drains battery
Install battery dr saver from market
It has option of full cycle charge for charging battery properly

Done that already, still the same. Already know about Battery Dr Saver, but I don't think it helps this problem.
I also installed Badass Battery Monitor, it's really detailed and shows a lot of info. It's showing that the display is using up the most battery, but I have it idle most of the time.........
agree!
at least someone or two has same problem with me.
i just flashed cm7 2.2.0 over these 2 weeks.
well i noticed the battery drain alot faster than stock eclair.
i'm looking forward to see the solution...

Select interactiveX governer
Min 19mhz max 691mhz
And check undervolt
I do this to save battery

done that already too, except I use smartassv2 governor and my max is just stock speed at 600mhz.
I basically applied every tweak that I could find from every topic, and believe me they do work, on v2.1.9 at least.
It seems that most people have the same problem on v2.2.0, the radio somehow keeps draining battery. I noticed that it used up 33% for no reason, whereas on v2.1.9 it was around 2%.
BTW I dunno if it makes a difference if I use smartassv2 or interactiveX, but most people said that smartassv2 is better since that's what nAa uses, so it's more compatible. I don't think changing the governors matter though, I've used Badass Battery Monitor for 3 days in a row now and it shows none of the apps are draining power. Even using Android Assistant shows that my phone is idle 94% of the time, where the System uses 4% CPU and User uses 2% CPU. So I do believe it's gotta do with the radio, somehow this rom isn't using the kernel that well I think.
Then it wil be good idea to stick to 2.1.9
YES ! im not the only one wooo, i signed up just to thank the creator of this thread <3 ok so i think it is the minicm7 2.2.0 problem, because i never had it before ! BUT i am using minicm9 now, and anyone confirm that our batteries work better with this? because ive noticed a slight improvement with battery in MiniCM9, i love my mini, i need to fix this battery problem ! i even got two batteries thinking my batterys was f***ed, still only gave me about 5 hours worth of battery max !

I suggest going back to CM7 2.1.9. It's very stable for me and battery drain is so low that my phone can last almost a week on standby without much usage, it's great!
I would stay away from CM9 for now, and wait until it's more stable. So far, I've read that many people are experiencing a few bugs here and there, so I would wait until after a few new version releases and try it out then.

I am using CM9 now and its beautiful to be honest, its just a few bugs, but atm battery life > cm7 2.2.0 i am getting about 6 hours instead of 3-4 i might go back to cm 2.1.9 and see how it goes thanks guys for the help <3
what kernel should i use? beacuse i think it might be the Naa Kernel that is giving me bad battery life

well, if you're using CM9 or CM7, you have no choice but to use the nAa kernel.......unless you're asking which kernel version, otherwise you pretty much don't have a choice.
I'm pretty sure it's not the kernel either, CM7 2.2.0 drains a lot more battery compared to CM7 2.1.9. They both use the same kernel, so it has nothing to do with that.
i used cm7 2.1.9 and i got 4 hours battery life, with wifi off, 3g off, and all i did was txt thru whatsapp with 2g and i was at the movies for 2 hours anyway, and no its not my battery cause i bought another one, still the same thing im getting frustrated ! gonna try original kernel and rom

that's really odd, my phone running CM7 2.1.9 can last for 3 days easily if I just use it for txting. I'm using nAa-11 kernel, and haven't had a problem with it......maybe try to flash the kernel and rom again?

yep tried that as well, alot of times one thing i noticed was when i installed paul's kernel i hadnt charge the phone and when i booted up the phone after flashing the battery was 62% but wifi wasnt working with the kernel so i installed Naa kernel again, i didnt charge the phone and the battery percentage went up to 82% like wtf -.-

I installed cm9 mini, but phone was lagging and battery life was poor. Now i installed cm7 mini 2.2.1 and it runs a lot better than cm9, but like most of you say, i also have the battery drain issue...; during 9hours of sleep my phone lost 30% of battery that's really enoying. Stock 2.1 SE rom loses about 7% during 9 hours of sleep.
So most of you recomand the 2.1.9 instead of 2.2.1? And which kernel should i use? Is there a possibility that the kernel i use (ana 14 ) drains the battery so fast? if i install 2.1.9 should i use the ana 14 kernel, or a lower version?
thx

OK, i installed cm7 mini 2.1.9 and now the battery consumption is great!! fully charged phone and it consumed 3% over 9hours of sleep
Sort of a general question, but I'm wondering, has anyone been able to achieve good battery life on a stock based rom? (Jasmine, Skydragon etc). I love the LG camera, so I've been sticking with stock based roms, but I've tried everything imagineable to try and save battery on this phone and I can't seem to do it. The best I've been able to get out of this phone is right under 4 hours of screen time and I'm losing about 2.5% every hour when the screen is off. Wakelocks and other battery monitors don't really show anything crazy going on that I can tell, but the culprit seems to be Android OS (as usual).
I've heard of lowering the resolution saving some juice, but I'd rather not do that if I didn't have to. I've got greenify, amplify and other minor tweaks running. Anyone been able to find a real way to increase battery life on this phone? I'm tempted to get a new phone if I can't fix the issue. My old S4 used to get 6+ hours of screen time easily.
try downloading jasmine lollipop with xposed using greenify module. use STOCK kernel. ive seen better battery using the stock kernel than using skydragons. delete amplify because ive found that it drains battery rather than saving it. buy greenify if you have a little cash. and greenify some system apps. I sometimes get 5 and a half hours sot.
