Was wondering if there was a car mount for this bad boy? I know ram makes a good car mount for the ipad, but im not sure if their cradle is adjustable because even though this is 10" i dont think it has the same shape haha..
i been looking at this one Car Mount it's adjustable so it might just work.
I was looking at that one eluminx. It didn't seem to get a good rating. Another one I came across was from the UK amazon site. I haven't looked for it on US site yet. Here's a link... http://www.amazon.co.uk/ULTIMATEADDONS-Mount-Holder-Medion-Netbook/dp/B003CI7Y74

Check mountguys.com, they have one for an android tablet, looks to be adjustable
I plan on using a sheet of Kydex to form around my gtab and canibalizing an old suction mount to mount it on. Then I can get those little adhesive suction discs and affix it once I find the best location.

honestly i think that the gtab in the car would be pretty damn cool to use, however i think it just MIGHT be an obstruction of view if you guys were to get the windshield mounts for the tab, believe you will def get a few tickets for that from the local cops looking to meet 'quotas'. maybe if there was something where you can dock it say where the lighter is or in the middle console somehow but on the windshield prob isnt the best place for it, just my 2 cents

I agree, big time! I plan on mounting mine lower in my work van. I also plan on "fabricating" some sort of recessed dock type enclosure in my truck. I had plans for a carputer but I think a gtab dock would be way more convenient....and way sweeter!
Hoping to tap the knowledge of the guys at this forum. They build some awesome setups here. I know this isn't for the average person, but I am already half way there in my vehicle.

I drive an Evo with 600AWHP and a lots of grip. This thing will not be held by some suction cup.
I am looking to make a bracket of some sort for the center console.

I bought one of these iPad suction cup mounts from some random site on BensBargains.net and use it with a beanbag friction dash mount... on my desk. The setup is just too large and cumbersome to be placed on the dashboard. Not to mention the ball head mechanism never seems to get tight enough to hold the tablet steady when I touch anything on either the extreme left or right of the tab.
Hey guys, Lets make an official Car dock thread here for the Note 3.
I'm a current vzw Galaxy Nexus owner upgrading the to the Note 3 and tired of zero accessories available,
especially a *good* Car dock.
I really miss quality car docks, The Motorola Droid x car dock was the best ever and I havent seen anything close to it for
any device since. Part of what made it great was its spring loaded arm that popped open and closed, This made putting
phone in the dock was a 1 handed fast and east operation, and the dock didnt move.
Nobody wants to use 2 hands and plug wires in everytime they get into the car. Wireless charging built in would be a HUGE bonus too.
Lets see what starts becoming available and lets check them out here!
Prepare to be disappointed
This is the closest dock I have seen to what I'd want

no no no plugging in wires!
Plugging wires in is going backwards..
Keeping my hopes up for a GOOD dock!
I'm using one of the Arkon ones for my note 2 atm, it should still work with the note 3 since the note 3 is supposed to be a bit smaller!
It's an awesome basic mount

I currently use proclip for my VZW Nexus, the nice thing is the phone part is replaceable so I can just get that part for the note 3 when available. It's pricy but rock solid.

Do they have a wireless charging car dock yet???
xProDock is Note 3 compatible..
Thanks for starting a dedicated Note 3 thread. We here at iBOLT will participate and reply as necessary, great if we could have only one major thread for the car-dock category.
This week I am visiting the IFA show here in Berlin and after testing the Note 3 I can confirm that Samsung has not made any changes to the "DockMode" feature. It works perfect with our xProDock and the "DockMode" kicks in so that you can set an app like Dock'n Drive, CarHome Ultra, TuneIn or Slacker Radio as "default" home screen. The sound/music from apps can also come out through the microUSB when in dock mode and go the 3.5 mm aux-out that is included with the xPro.
The handset itself is very nice with the "stitched leather back" as you can see in the pictures. In the picture we have the AMPS plate attached which can be used instead of the suction cup if you want to attach to a vent mount from ProClip, a leather mount from KUDA or any pedestal mount type. The screen on the Note 3 is beautiful so indeed this will be an awesome Navigation device too. Let me know if there's any questions.
I am looking for a Qi car charger/holder. I am wondering if the ones designed for NOTE 2 will work with NOTE 3
http://www.amazon.com/Standard-wire...alaxyNote2/dp/B00EVEHNY2/ref=pd_sim_sbs_cps_1
This is what I've been using with my S3. It shows the Note 2 is compatible, so there's no reason the Note 3 shouldn't work.
http://www.mountek.com/
The iBolt units look like they would do the job but pretty expensive for what I need it for. From my experience with car docks, I've gotten better sound quality by plugging the auxiliary cable directly into the phones auxiliary jack and bypassing the circuitry in the dock. I've tried all of those Car Home apps and don't like them. I want to use my phone the same way I always do while it is docked. Just give me a solid mount without all the bells and whistles and access to my headphone jack and USB charging ports without the circuitry in the dock.

will you be producing one specific for the Note 3, with USB 3.0 charging capabilities?
KiDiGi is working on a cardock also.
Joe, Thanks for the link to KiDiGi, WOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!
The KiDiGi docks are just like the old Droid X car dock!
Spring loaded arm, bottom made for the phone, not universal,
Easy one handed in and out of the dock.
Nice beefy base.
I'm Sold!,
Now, Add wireless charging like that and HNNNNNNG!
Looks like iBolt also offers a S4 dock similar as well, Hopefully a N3 version will be out soon.

For my Note 2 I got hooked the "iMagnet Cradle-less Magnetic Mount with Quick-snap Technology" blah blah.... stupid long winded name, but the technology, as simple as it is works well. I love being able to pop it on and off with easy (not counting the power connection). I have never had any issues with the phone falling off the magnet. I drive a truck with off road suspension so it is kind of a bumpy ride, but never an issue at all.
The metal strip I have under the battery cover (no adhesive used). I am hoping the fo-leather will not add bulk to it that compromises the secure hold between the metal plate and the magnet.
-
The original Note car holder was the shiii.... Well, it was good:
http://www.expert.fi/getmetafile/91...528e78/GalaxyNote_carkit.aspx?maxsidesize=350
Reasons being:
- Made for the phone. No universal, spring loaded, or anything like that crap. The phone would snap to place and STAY there
- No wirecircus. Just plug the charger and the 3,5mm plug to the holder and you're golden.
- Very rugged suction cup. Never gave me any crap.
- Very rugged positioning screw. Didn't come loose once.
This all is coming from a taxi driver, with a lot of kilometers to show for it. But now I'm changing for the Note 3, so if anyone can hook me up with a similar car holder I'm all ears.
I wouldn't be surprised if the you could add little spacers or padding to most N2 holders and make them work.
Actually on some glock pistols the plastic at the nose was manufactured too close to the slide and the fix was to hold the front end pastic piece in boiling water for a few mintues and adjust it. You could probably do the same thing for the N2 holders and just tweak them a little.
This is the best universal car dock I've seen so far:
official website for pre-oreders
It was originally a kickstarter campaign, check out all the details here:

Can anyone tell me a good cell phone holder that doesn't mount phone in front of vents and doesn't put holes in the interior. I like the cup holder versions okay. The only one I find says standard size. I did find some good brackets but I'd have to take the dash apart a plus Id like it to be portable anyway.
Any ideas would be great. Thanks for any advice.

If you have a thin case like a spigen hybrid case the stock Samsung car cradle fits just fine. You just fit in it. No case it fits with ease. With a thin case its a snug fit but it fits. Couldn't do like an otterbox it anything in it though.

No not at all, on the actual cigarette holder there's a adjustable knob that tightens it. Only weird thing is it doesn't charge on the 2 amp setting but charges very well on 1amp. Maybe it's mislabeled? Or maybe my cable.

I've been using ExoGear ExoMount car mounts for years. I have tent original version in black, and the new second version in white. They work great and allow you to use almost any device in them, as the mount is adjustable. The Note 3 in a bulky case fits without a problem, as will smaller devices. The are available in black or white.
Recently I just got my TechMatte 1 touch car mount on the mail. It is awesome and you only need one hand to get your phone locked in to it! My Note 3 with a TPU case fits in this mount great, but with a larger case it wouldn't. I like that the TechMatte mount has a small button behind where the phone sits, and to lock the phone in you just set it in place and push the phone against that button which makes the arms grab on to the phone and lock it in until you're ready to remove it. Works awesome!
The ExoGear ExoMount is about $20, but the TechMatte mount is only $7.99 from Amazon right now! I expected it to be cheaply made and not function very well considering the price. I was shocked when it arrived as it is constructed very well, has 2 places to adjust the viewing angle, and works flawlessly!! I highly recommend the TechMatte car mount if you use a TPU case or or something similiar. If you use a large case, then the ExoGear will be the best choice.

If you don't use your CD player (or don't switch CDs often), the Mountek mount is excellent. I've been using one for a couple of years, for phones and GPSs, and never had a problem, even on bumpy roads.

I love the Mountek. I think it is the best mount ever. The only bad thing is I just bought a Ford Flex with MyFord Touch, Nav and a 10" display, so that mount now blocks the screen. But I have no need to mount my new Note 3 since I just pair it with bluetooth, so it just sits in the center console tray now.

I bought an OSO mount via Amazon after I found the EXO mount on Amazon US. It seems to be the same product. But any of these search terms will pull up a mount that is at least similar to those two. I have mine mounted on the structured plastic dash in the middle of my Smart 451 and it didn't come off yet. And I could only find bery few ratings where people were not satisfied. I got me the mount that comes with something like an extension arm and I'm glad I did. All other mounts on my screen would put the phone too far away to operate and the other mounts that go on the dashbord would place the phone right in the middle of the windscreen and blocking the view. But both, OSO and EXO have different models to chose from.
Thanks Mikegrmn
Looks good.

I'd assume so. I didn't try, but from how it holds up on my structured dashboard, a screen shouldn't be a problem. I had tried it on the smoother surface on our kitchen countertop and had problems removing it
The suction cup itself is sticky. This most likely causes that it holds strong on textured surfaces. And the cup is also thicker in material than what I saw on GPS units. The only thing that is, due to the thick material is, that it acts a bit like a suspension damping. So there is a little wiggle room when you touch the device. I'm not sure if it's clear what I want to say, but it doesn't feel like screwed or welded to something. Hope this gets it better across.
I know there's many threads about windshield mounts. I've searched and read many threads.
What I'm looking for is a windshield mount but sturdy enough to record track videos. Phoe would need to be horizontal. Don't really need to have charging. Just a clear view for the camera.
Any suggestions would be helpful.

I use ibolt, its very sturdy even with this big phone.
Does it have to be mounted to your windshield or could you mount to the dashboard?
I am using a combination of different pieces from RAM Mounts and the phone is very secure.
http://www.rammount.com/products/phones/un10_learn
I know they do have a suction cup base, just not sure if it would block your view, which is why I suggested the dash mount. The longer the arm you use or the more it is offset from the center the more vibration you will have. I drive a Jeep and I bolted a base to my dash so it is very secure, but I do still have a bit of vibration when I hit larger potholes, etc.
That looks good but don't want anything attached to dash.

Sucks that there aren't any of the metal bits in the back of the Nexus 6 they used to align the Nexus 5 to its wireless charger, cause that was awesome for it. The curved back doesn't give me too much promise with using a flat metal disc to get the magnetic attraction. That, and the iBolt does a number on navigation, if you use your phone for that while driving.
