Hi all...
When I'm playing these, and press home button to get out, the videos keep Playing but the pip is not there.
Neither do they show up on the notification panel.
So to turn the video or the song off, I've to go back and open the app first.
Thanks for your help.
Thanks.

Is there a way to disable the shuffle play feature in the Miui music player?
Thank you.

I know it is a bit of an inconvenience, but the only way I have found is to long press the back button and it will close the app and then you can restart the music app. I have tried hitting the shuffle play button for a second time and have been unsuccessful at getting this to work. Just my way that I have found.
When its playing a song hit the shuffle icon, it will change to two straight lines instead of crossed lines, and say "shuffle off".
Hi,
I installed Winamp Pro on my Galaxy S3 (running 4.0.4), but when I try and use the controls on my Bluetooth headphones it launches the stock music app. Is there any way to set it so that those controls control Winamp instead? I have the relevant check box checked in Winamp, but it doesn't appear to make a difference.
Also, when the stock music app is launched via the icon in the regular app list, you are taken to a view where at the top of the screen it says All, Playlists, Albums, Artists etc. How do you get to this view if you launch the app via the widget?
When I click on the widget it brings up the main screen, but it displays the album art for the current track along with player controls. I can scroll left and right to change tracks, but only for that particular album. If I press the little on-screen button (bottom-right) I get a text based list of tracks, but again, for the current album only. I can't get to that screen that has "All, Playlists, Albums" etc. at the top in order to select a different album or browse my library.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Hi,
For the second part of your query, I believe this is a bug (which I intend to contact Samsung about today).
There is a way around it: from the screen you've described, there should be a button at the right under the album art (next to the shuffle and repeat controls). If you press this it takes you to the "music square" screen. At the top you will now have the menu for playlists, artists, etc.
On mine, in order to not have to scroll across the top, I've disabled everything except Artist and Music Square. Unfortunately you can't disable music square as this also disables the button!
As for the first part, I'm not entirely sure for Winamp but the option to respond to Bluetooth (or headset) controls should be within the Winamp settings (something like "override headset buttons" or something.
Thanks for the reply.
After starting this thread, I noticed that "music square" workaround when watching YouTube vids of people showing off the phone. I had hidden that option, which is why I was finding it impossible to get back to that main menu!
As for Winamp, I've switched to another player now, but I believe Winamp has now been updated to fix the problem I mentioned.
Why is it that when I open the music player via the widget, I cannot access my music folders ie artists / albums, am I missing something?
Nope. You're spot on. I can't either. But there is a way around this. I press the music square button (somewhere near the bottom right of the screen) and then it goes to the music square tab, but you can access the others as well. Give it a try.

I hate how I have to do that!
I had deleted the music square option as I don't use it. Seems I have to re-anble it as a work round until Samsung fix it.
My phone is stock ICS and I've done a reset to fix some issues I was having with accounts synchronizing.
Since then there seems to be a new problem unfortunately. When I open the Music app it doesn't open on the Now Playing screen (the visualization of the cover of the current / latest track with the controls), it instead AWAYS open on the album selection.
The problem is it's very annoying, because even if it's playing a song and I access the shortcut I have on my home screen or the permanent notification by pulling the status bar it opens the album selection instead of the Now Playing. :'(
I don't recall it worked that way before... I remember when I accessed the Music app it'd open on the Now Playing screen either if I exit from it by pressing back multiple times or via the home button. Now it doesn't get back on the screen regardless of what I do (even pressing home and then using the native task switcher to get back into it).
I already force stopped Music and cleared the data, and restarted the phone, but the behavior didn't back to normal. Can someone help? How do your app work?
I noticed this as well, and it's very annoying. However, I believe that's the way it is with ICS. I've flashed 5 or 6 ICS roms, and they all do it.
Hm, I hope I can ask some other things on this topic also...
A minor "problem": Is it possible to make the player to display album art in a per-track basis? I have album art in each track via ID3 but the player gets the one from the first song and spread to the whole album, while I like to switch the covers of the singles and other releases to their own covers on the mp3 files... Doesn't seem possible, never mind...
But I was thinking about how HTC One X Music app behaves in these situations and if I'd be able to get it on my device if I had the apk?
Thanks.
Just so you know, the app is half back to normal. It'll now return into the now playing screen if that was the last one I left the app in (when getting into it via task switcher or status / notifications bar).
Actually it might be interesting to get back in the track selection screen as you can forward just 1 or skip many tracks using the list. But I reported this to HTC anyway.
I'm almost sure there's no way to have per-track album art in the default Music app.
I noticed this morning that my music player (Google Play music) is not showing up on my second screen when music is playing. It shows up initially for a couple of seconds, but then dissappears... Same whether screen is on or off. I'm on LP, rooted with Xposed running.... Any ideas?
This might be the fact that you don't know how to initialize the player to show up. You have to swipe right on the 2nd screen to get the player to appear. Also, Google Play Music purposely disappears after you swipe to it to prevent draining the battery or for you to accidentally press on it.

Thanks for the reply... however, that is what I am doing (swiping thru the different second screens) and the music player is not there. I've been using it since I got the phone last year... also, before whenever music was playing, the music controls were always one of the second screen displays (screen on or off) I could swipe to... now it pops up for a couple of seconds and then disappears. I'm pretty sure this is not the intended behavior as it would be useless and also is not what it has been doing previously.

If there isn't a section, then you must have accidentally removed Google play music. That app and/or another app is essential to keeping that function working. If you can't find this app that you deleted I recommend running a factory flash wipe.

Google Play Music is still installed... never removed. What other app are you talking about that may have caused this? Thanks!

OK, back in business! Since I only use Google Play Music for playing music, I used Titanium BU to freeze three other Music apps... I unfroze them and poof! the settings menu selection is back!
Thanks!
