I have discovered that even without any mod support/framework the turbo power battery pack will charge the phone in TWRP recovery mode!
It will also start to charge it when it is off but it won't keep charging. Only the phone staying on in recovery mode allows it to charge, I don't know how this works, but it does.
Interesting. That would mean that there must be a way to enable them in the ROM too.

There is no enable, it's just a weird circumstance. In this case you have to boot into and keep the phone in twrp recovery mode for it to charge.

Hello,
Basically I got the same problem like this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2407711
Everything was working until one day I found out that the power button and volume keys were doing nothing. So I restarted the the phone and it booted up and buttons begun to work except the volume down. And it was in the safe mode
Tried restarting, removing battery for few minutes, shorting battery pins for few seconds while battery is removed and its still stuck in the safe mode.
Phone was running OMEGA ROM when this happened and I tried flashing stock 4.1.2 ROM and 4.2.2 ROM but nothing changed. still stuck in the safe mode.
I can access the recovery and download modes but volume down or up doesnt work on stock recovery so I flashed CWM touch.
Thought it was a hardware problem and tried replacing the flex cable with buttons and even tried powering on without the connecting the flex cable connector. but still stuck in the safe mode and volume down isn't working.
I don't have warranty remaining and I'm trying to find a way to make this come out from the safe mode. Do you have any suggestions? I dont mind the stuck volume key if I can force this out from the safe mode.
Please help

if the phone is not rooted, root it. if already rooted, install CWM manager. from it you can directly enter recovery mode and download mode. though the app is not fully safe, i prefer it as there is no help from the hardware. good luck

Change recovery: go to www.4ext.net, choose free download, it's an apk, install it on phone (must be rooted) and follow instruction, it'll install 4ext recovery for you

Hi All,
I know there are alot of similar threads but I would just like to get the forums opinion on what my options are with my bricked SM-G925F S6 Edge mobile?
Just to outline the chain of events, the phone is all stock, no custom kernel or custom ROM. and was never rooted. After applying the pushed Samsung Android update the phone crashed I manually rebooted via recovery mode and had to do a full system wipe as it continued to crash on boot. After reaching a stable boot the update was requesting to be downloaded once again which I accepted. All looked well and seemed to apply the update but the boot cycle crashed and has been un responsive ever since.
Tried to recover the device as below but no joy:
1.Long press power
2.Attempted power+volume down
3.No Recovery mode power+volume up+home
4.No Download mode power+volume down+home
5.All buttons together power+volume up/down+home
6.Plugging oem power charger no response
I would appreciate any advice, is a jtag the next route ?
Thanks in advance

1. What exactly is the phone doing now?
2. You deffinately cant boot into download mode? Try holding buttons for about 20 seconds and keep repeating?
3. Is the device detected when plugged into pc/smart switch?
4. Did you ever enable dev options and usb debugging?

Current status unresponsive.
My hope was download mode but not happening.
No detection via smart switch.
Dev options would have been enabled yes.
Any merit in opening up to physically disconnect reconnect battery?

The first thing would be to flash stock.. but as you can't get into download mode its a bit tricky.
Have you tried to initialize phone with serial and imei with smart switch? This should detect phone and run emergency software fix?
I wouldnt attempt to remove my battery as you have to heat up the back to melt the glue to remove the glass.
Sometimes when the phone is in the state it is in its hard to get to download mode but it eventually does.
Try to get it powered off, keep holding power and vol down or just power for 20-40 seconds. It will eventually go off then try download mode.

If the phone still can be powered on but it's stuck somewhere during boot, can force reset by pressing power+vol down for 30s or more.

Not getting anywhere with the powering off/download mode, sounds defeatist, but looks like its done.
Does it mean anything that the phone doesn't recognise the power charger is connected either?

If it wont power on or recognise power charger that sounds like actually bricked phone or hardware problem. Safest way would be to just take it to service centre

What percentage chance of survival would you give it. 50/50 ?

Charge ur phone with PC. There might be chances that u go into that white background charging logo( this happens generally after 20-30 minutes of continuous charging).
Then unplug ur device from PC and try to reboot in system or bootloader. If u were lucky then u will boot in the same. And if not then repeat the process.
This happens with me also. I do the same and I receive my phone.
Hope this will also work for you else time to buy new phone.
Leave your phone in charge for 1 day and then turn on your phone next day. Hopefully it would get started. I too faced the same issue but this method worked for me.

Just leave it for charge with different good charger(don't use stock charger). Leave it for 6 hours and then try. Hopefully it will get switched ON.

what do you mean that your phone is stuck at recovery mode? if not you can enable the developers option this is the steps
1.) Go to setting
2.) Go to About phone
3.) tap the build number 7 times
4.) now quit the setting then open it again
5.) scroll down then choose the developers option
thats how you open developers option
basically when I reboot turn off> it will "never" boot into normal mode. My phone is so broken that pressing power button only still boot into recovery mode, wipe data and reboot still into recovery mode.

your phone seems to be new which means that your volume keys are still new and good so thats not our problem here your phone didin't boot right? did you do something to your system phone like flashing or something? because if you do there is a big chance that you screw up something in your phone resulting it to be like that. now your phone can still be charge right there might be still a hope we just need to reflash your whole firmware ( if the problem is really a firmware) you said before you cant boot right then there must be a problem in the booting process, i tested this on my phone before i clean wipe my whole phone and that include system partition so when i tried to boot my phone it wont and when i charge it no logo would appear just like yours so im guessing that you phone partition is gone and like you said to its bricked now. if thats the case we need to flash the whole firmware

Thanks for reply>to avoid confusion no I did not do anything/flashing/even enable usb debugging to my OPPO A15S. I am total newbie that I flash Samsung J7 once only. The Oppo A15S yes it is 1-2 years only, volume key clicking works fine but after system update via setting>Official Oppo coloros things. My phone kinda messed up volume key not working<google results say because a lot of phone cannot boot up because of volume key. So should I pry open my phone to see the volume key? Or just wait until 1 day scheduled power up happens?
Logs:
Wednesday 5am my phone auto boot up in recovery mode.I press restart and the screen black nothing happens.
Thursday 5am no boot up
Friday no boot up too.
So I assume it is my phone power is low and somehow my auto scheduled power on force my phone to boot up? and that time system auto update causes my phone die in midway?

hmm i see you didnt do anything in your phone but you did say that you updated it right? while updating you phone did something happen? like rebooting? if so there might be a chance that it became corrupted because of ,that while in the case of your power button what kind of problem does it have? does it work correctly? or you cant click it like its stuck or something? or maybe the button is working correctly and your phone just doesnt boot up? if the button is really problem like google stated ----->
Why is my OPPO always in Recovery mode?
One of the most common causes is that one of the buttons used to access android system recovery is defective or malfunctioning. Now, you should first check if the physical buttons are responding properly, especially the volume buttons, before trying to get rid of the Android Recovery Mode.
you should probably check you physical button because that might be a problem and i just remembered i have the same problem in my sisters phone vivo y53 its always stuck in recovery mode and we are confused why did it happen so we bring it to our technician friend and let him fix it and he really fix it he he told me that if something happen like this again check all the buttons correctly. Now there is really problem in you button and you cant just pry in you phone you might break something you should let the professional do it like technician after you fix your button try to boot up again and if its still black screen or recovery then the problem is in the phone system and you can comeback here so we can help you fix it.
