First of all, sorry but my English is pretty bad.
I have a S2 that I want to use it just occasionally (as businesses phone). It charged perfectly but sometimes it shows this 'error'

Do a Google search for:
"USB jig for Samsung"
Or a search for:
"300k resistor method Samsung"
You'll find information for a couple of different tricks to force-boot your device into download mode and then you can flash your stock firmware using Odin.
If it is at all possible for you to revive the device, this should do it.
If it doesn't, then it can only be repaired by:
1) replacing the motherboard
2) a JTAG service(or buy the expensive JTAG hardware for yourself and learn how to use it). The service is probably still around $50 but I'm not sure.
3) Pay for an Octo box or a Riff box service(or similar hardware interface equipment)
Or buy the Octo box/ Riff box or other interface for yourself and learn to use it.
There is also, possibly, a trick that involves a somewhat complicated method of booting a stock debrick.img that has been burned onto an external sdcard that has been formatted as a "bootable" drive and then using the booted OS to repair the partitions on the device, then after everything is restored and booting properly without the external sdcard, you return the external sdcard to normal format as storage instead of as a bootable drive. You can probably find a copy of debrick.img(sometimes labeled as debrick.bin) for S2 or maybe you can get someone else here with a S2 to pull a debrick.img(.bin) from their device using terminal emulator or adb shell. If your device does not at least vibrate or light up the capacitive hardkeys when you try to power on the device, this method of booting from external sdcard will not work on your device but a JTAG service will probably do the job, however, there is no guarantee that the service will work.
Also, I can't see what the second photo that you posted is. Can you repost it correctly so that I can view it?

I have had Cyanogen 9 running fine for a few months. About 2 weeks ago I changed the modem, but I don't think that should be the cause of my current problem (but I could always be wrong).
Out of nowhere, apps suddenly started crashing. Everything I was using gave me a crash message. Dogcatcher and Facebook, in particular. I rebooted and the phone did not get past the Cyanogen boot screen.
I've tried to re-rom it, but CWM Recovery seems to be gone too. It goes straight into download mode. I tried to flash 6.0.1.2 with Odin but nothing changes. It still puts me into download mode.
Edit: Just found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458&highlight=unbrick
I'll play with that for a minute here. Fingers crossed.
In future......

Also, your device is not "bricked". Just go into download mode, flash Siyah v4 kernel, reboot into recovery and then flash rom, done!
Yes yes, I did a fair bit of searching before posting. It just so happened that very soon after posting, my searches actually turned up something! lol
Trying Siyah. Brb...
Edit: Odin does not seem to like .zip files. I'm using Odin 3.07. Do I have to change it to .tar?
More edit: OMG, nothing I'm trying is working. This is really bad timing. I need this phone RIGHT NOW. I'm sorry for being a noob, but I desperately need help.
Still editing: Ok, I've worked out that there's a difference between a CWM .zip package and a .tar Odin package. I've got Siyah 5 installed now. I just need to find a way to get the rom onto the sdcard so I can flash Cyanogen 10 (since 9 apparently doesn't work with this kernel). Normally this would be easy, but I'm traveling at the moment and don't have all my gadgets and adapters with me.
WiFi ? Lots of apps on Google Play enable WiFi transfer (from a PC or whatever). If you "don't have all your gadgets" & no access to a PC of some description with WiFi (or a card reader even), you're not fixing it.
Edit - Or...(I forgot the bleeding obvious). Download the file(s) you need directly to the phone from CM's site/whatever using WiFi somewhere (hotel/net cafe/elsewhere); will be infinitely cheaper than using a carrier's network (unless you're using your home carrier or have a good data allowance cheap data. If you're roaming this could be expensive).
Hey everybody, so I bought myself a messed up vibrant hoping I could fix it. Originally it acted like this:
Plug it in to charge: shows the stock loading bar, then loading bar with battery, repeat.
Turn it on: shows the at&t world phone screen, (I think they tried to flash captivate files to it) (yes I am sure it is a vibrant, I have had 3 now)
Wouldn't even go into download mode, definitely not recovery.
I bought a USB download mode jig, and that worked wonders on it and got it to download mode!
My micro USB port on my phone is junk, but I finally got odin to recognize it, but it failed after saying setup connection forever.

Any ideas? Is JTAG the only option I have at this point, if so anyone know who'll do it for less than $50?
If it helps I have a linux computer.
Maybe the unbrickableMOD? I suck at soldering and I don't really know anyone who is good, but I might be able to make that work as a last resort.
Now it has changed its mind once again, I put the USB jig in and it went to the soft bricked screen with the cell phone...!...computer
It can't be a problem with the cable or the computer because I have tried several ports and I have used same computer with odin many times.
It has changed its mind once again, now we're back to download mode.
I have finally gotten it back in download mode, now trying to get odin to see it again and not have the computer just say usb device not recognized . Any ideas for this?
Progress! Now it will say but i still cannot get odin to recognize it again, any ideas? I have and am trying multiple versions of odin just to make sure.
Now we're back to .
Still no ideas? If I can get odin to recognize it again I think I have a special odin to fix it.
Eh, maybe I'll scrap it for parts.
Try and get odin to recognise it and flash i9000 pit file. It should flash successfully. Then try flashing the firmware, make sure you include the pit file.
Kindly hit the THANKS button if i helped.
I AM A POTAYTOE!!! :banghead:
Sounds to me like your usb port is bad. www.mobiletechvideos.com will replace it for you or you can just order the part if you know how to solder but you must be really good at soldering or you will ruin it. They also offer jtag I believe but I don't feel like you need that. Mobile tech is a very trusted source FYI, so purchase with confidence if you go that route.

Hi!
I have a problem with my S2.
So, yesterday, I tried to tether through USB and I saw it was't working and I said I'd change the ROM and it will work. I changed 3 ROMs and realised that USB wasn't working (neither in ROM or recovery) An hour ago, I tried connecting it to Odin and after 5 minutes, I succeded in Odin recognising it and I started flashing official software, but phone randomly disconnected. Now, if I try to connect it, I can't and the phone does not boot and does not enter recovery. What can I do?
PS: Sorry for bad english.
PS2: Tried connecting phone to 3 Windows 7 PCs and a Mac and it wasn't recognised at all.
worn out?
I'm not sure but I think the contact/connecter is worn out... I have a similar problem with random disconnects mainly when charging the phone but also sometimes with usb-pc connections. Changing to newer cables helps a bit but not entirely...
If it is not rom related I don't know what you can do more then trying another usb cable or buying a new phone. I guess that's not an option?
You also said your phone does not boot and you can't enter recovery... But what about "download mode"? As long as you can enter download mode you can fix the software in your phone but to do that you need the usb to be working correctly with no disconnects or else odin will mess up every time!
Replace USB board. Has been discussed here many times over the past month or so; search for those threads.
The USB port seems to be the weak point of the S2. It is seemingly the most replaced part for this phone.....I have had to do it myself, and have helped others in a similar situation. If you search my topics, you'll find one called 'video tutorial' which shows a step by step process for 'tearing down' an S2. This will help if you decide to replace the board yourself. Online shopping sites are a good place to source the part you need. But be advised, there are THREE different versions of this part (REV2.2, REV2.3 and REV2.4) see the photo below to find out where to look for the version number....
Make sure you get the same version as you remove, as a mismatch at this point is likely to cause other problems. ....

Finally....do not attempt to recover your phone until you have replaced this part.......the chances are that you will make things worse.....to the extent that your phone *may* become unrecoverable......

Thanks a lot for the answers. I just had to clean it, and it's working perfecly now.
Hi,
I just managed to factory reset my N910F with complete broken screen with kies.
Now I'd like to control it with my computer but to do so, I need usb debugging enabled, however since the phone is on a stock rom, it comes disabled by default and I can't enable it since both digitizer and amoled screen are broken.
This post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53531429&postcount=17 suggests contacting "a kernel developer to automatically enable it in the default.prop and sideload the kernel in recovery".
Moreover I'm new to the Samsung World (never flashed a rom with Odin) but I have a LG G2 and flashed tons of roms before.
Current installed rom version:

Do you have stock rom file with you? If not download from sammobile. Open with winzip or rar and pull boot.img and send me. Btw its midnight here so earliest i can help you in late morning
PS :
1.I didnt get once you format device and what is exact use of controlling device with broken screen.
2.Also this method will trip knox
3.you have selected wrong section to open thread.
1- I don't want to pay 180€ to get the screen fixed and find out there are certain things that don't work on this phone. I exchanged an HP Prime for this Note4 so I don't know what the real status of the phone is. Receiving calls works, s-pen too though.
2- I don't think it has a warranty lol
3-Sorry, I would change it if I could.
And...I don't know which rom version I should download. The sticker on the back says UK but I live in Spain.
I tried activating USB debugging myself by following certain YouTube videos but I can't. I don't really know if Im past the setup wizard or I'm still stuck there.
If boot.img will be from different version then device may not boot.
Can you still see anything on the screen? Try to use an OTG cable with a usb mouse. Maybe you can use the mouse to browse your phone. I remember doing this with my Xperia S with broken screen to copy pictures and movies to my pc.

I understand. What do I do? I don't know what the exact version is. Do you want the serial number on the back?

The screen's broken, can't see or touch anything. But the s-pen works that's how I managed to get past through the setup wizard (I THINK I DID).
If I had a video where someone showed how to get past through the setup wizard and then activated usb debugging all by using the s-pen, I could try ;D
A bit late, but the Note 4 has MHL, so you could connect it to your TV through HDMI.
Hey guys,
So recently I got a SM-G928X Live Demo Unit. I just read that flashing G928F firmware is completely fine and so I did aaaaand well, I am stuck in recover. Forgot to flash a custom recovery, also the phone has Factory Reset Protection so I am here with:
Android Recovery
MMB29K.G928FXXU2BPB6
samsung/zenbltexx/zenlte
6.0.1/MMB29K/G928FXXU2BPB6
user/release-keys
volume up/down and power
____________________
then goes normal recovery options
and at the bottom of the screen, there's
Supported API: 3
dm-verity verification failed...
Need to check DRK first...
Anyway I can't get to download mode, cant wipe data, cant flash from ADB/SD Card. When connected to PC no software recognises the device so yeah, that's a great situation to be in, right?
So if any of you have any idea how to make this thingy work again, I'm up for anything.
Aand I'm in the wrong forum right.. Sorry for that
Thanks

Well one thing might still work. You could try and make yourself a download mode dongle. Just google Samsung download mode dongle and try to make one. IIRC all you need is a microUSB plug for the phone and a resistor with a certain resitance (can't recalm the value). Then plug in the microUSB plug and just hold the resistor between two ends of the plug. This should force your phone into download mode and you should be able to flash it again. Good luck!
Edit: found a picture showing you what you need to connect

You can also find Samsung download mode jig dongles pretty cheap on the web. But going to a hardware store and getting a USB connector and a resistor just was the faster way to do it for me.
