I bought the g6 2 weeks back, but it just overheats like a lot! Even if i just scroll around in the settings or use facebook or any other app for 2 mins, it just heats up! I am getting 2 hours of screen on time in total and even if i play music via spotify and keep it in my pocket or whatever it stays heated, its really weird, I debloated it using adb since it cant be rooted, I thought that might fix the issue, it was horribly slow for a 821 before debloating! But the problem persists and i am worried, it heats up while in charge too, even if its turned off! Is there any way to solve this? It doesnt have any warranty so i cant take it back to where i bought it from!
Any kind of help is appreciated!
TIA!
I have same problem with my LG - G6. Problem was charging port. In services changed that part and now everything is OK.

Beware of anti-rollback system. Check your ARB version before downgrading to avoid getting bricked.
are you using a micro sd?

try removing it and observe if still overheats. (worked for me)
I did also remove/disable some bloatwares. I used Package Disabler Pro.
Heres the lists of the bloatwares you can disable.

I already removed a ton of bloatware literally all the lg apps got removed and some from google that i dont need! A lot of crap was there and the phone was literally unusable when i bought it new!
I will try the sd card method and see what happens cause i am afraid downgrading might brick my device and i dont want to brick it!
:/

Hi Guys,
In the past few days ive noticed that if i dont check my phone regularly it will simply refuse to wake up (screen on). I know the phone is still working as the LightFlow settings still use the notification light when needed. I have also had situations where the phone wakes up but theres no touch functions, but locking and waking up again fixes that in 1 try. Has anyone else had this issue or am I going to have to send the phone back?
Thanks
Michael
P.S. The phone is not rooted and hasnt been updated since out the box. Any suggestions to root the phone to fix this will be ignored.
Uninstall LightFlow it has been known to cause this issue.
That is all we can suggest unless your willing to root.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had my HTC Desire rooted and this has put me off rooting my phone at the moment, but I was waiting for the Jelly Bean AOSP anyway.
Not trying to take this too far off topic, but what do you have against root? All root effectively is is an admin mode, you don't have to flash a custom rom.

I dont have anything against root. Its just that when I have a problem with my phone and people suggest to root it, if it doesnt work im kinda screwed over with warranty etc.
Unfortunatly removing Lightflow didnt help and its still happening

It's quite easy to revert back to Stock for warranty repairs.

Wont they reject it if its rooted? This would be the first phone ive sent for repairs. My HTC Desire never faulted in 2 years but this is starting to annoy me just a month and a half into my contract.

Yes, but u can use "triangle away" (by chainfire) to reset flash counter(found in download mode) and flash a stock rom with Odin and back is your warranty.
root...warranty...bla bla bla...why want to return just because of that? do u know that samsung software engineers sucks? i bought nexus, and i just use it for 1 week. want to know why? because it's so boring. the phone so perfect. no problem at all. nothing to tweak, nothing to fix, nothing to improve. i switch back to Samsung Galaxy because of this (before this use SGS1, now SGS3). so, if you have problem like THIS, change your kernel, or just sit and wait for update to fix it. samsung monitoring it (SLOWWWWWLYYY)

Over here afaik at least within the first period the seller has to actually prove you caused the damage to refuse the claim.
Having a rooted device will not stand as having caused hardware-damage.
So far I've yet to hear about a single case of warranty being refused in this country due to software modifications.
If it was as simple as putting a "Waranty void if removed" sticker on stuff actually having any meaning, that would be the end of democraty. Fortunately the law tells otherwise and manufacturers have to obey it (or buy their own law... at least in the USA that seems to work)
However it most certainly will make repairs far easier if the device is stock since they cannot even try to blame you for incorrect configurations or bad flashes.

Thanks for the help guys, Im on holiday at the moment so I'll see if theres a Kernal update when I get home. If not I'll check on the Jelly Bean (or something popular thats been out for a long time) rom stability and root for that. If nothing helps from those ill use the Triangle program to get rid of the root history and send it back for repairs.
EDIT: My Kernal is from May 13th. Surprised I havent had an update come thorugh yet. There isnt even a check for update button in my "About Phone"

They've removed that button in their bloatware-edition of the Samsung ROM - probably to prevent users from updating over 3G connectivity.

Good day,
Noobie doesn't begin to describe me. I just want to stop these update notifications on my phone and I've been trying for over a month with different instructions which usually ends when what I'm looking for isn't in the place where the directions said it was.
So five months ago I bought a rooted Galaxy S3 4.1.1 off eBay that I use on Boost mobile network. It was working when I got it in the mail and it still works great. Tried to contact the person I purchased it from but no reply. I like the phone the way it is, not trying to do anything fancy. Can someone please just lay out in simple (idiot) steps what I need to do to stop the update notifications that would be great? Thanks.

The sprint section you originally posted this in is the correct forum, however I'm not 100% on the fixes we use on our sprint phones will work for you and keep your phone working properly on boost. Anyway refer to that thread as one posted suggested accept the update and it will fail and let you live without the constant update pop ups, there's other fixes for it as well if that doesn't do the trick.

Should be fine bud, if you're rooted just make a backup first just in case... to get rid of the notification yourself (if you're rooted) just use a root explorer and navigate to system, look for a file called build.prop and edit it to reflect the new update... so if on mb1 change every instance of mb1 to mc3, save reboot to recovery, clear caches and reboot... if not rooted, nothing you can do about it unless you accept the ota update

From what I read it sounds safe to do, but honestly I'm even a bit iffy on it, most of the info is at least a few weeks old if not more. My guess is it will work and you'll be updated with more features than you have now, just afraid it could break something, like mms or voice mail.
In the boost mobile thread over in the sprint gs3 general section it looks like alpineman might be the best one to answer all the ins and out of this or perhaps others in that thread.

Looks like I have to return my Z2 tablet. Everything was fine for two weeks but now not only has the vibrate function stopped working, but I am getting randomly redirected to the Google Play store every few minutes to a page for some game or dating site. I realised that I may have downloaded an app that caused this, so I did a factory reset but it still happens.
Anyone know why the problem would still be there after a hard reset? Is it possible that whatever bit of adware is redirecting me has put something on the tablet that can't be got rid of? Or has it corrupted my Google account so I will take the problem wherever I go now?
I am not rooted (nor do I wish to be).
Really fed up because apart from these two issues, I really loved the tablet

Thanks for taking the time to reply, it is appreciated.. Are there any step by step guides anywhere as to how to do this? (Sorry, I'm not very technical).
When I got the tablet, I was immediately asked to update to .402 which I did. I noticed that when I did the factory reset, the firmware stayed at .402. I presume you are saying that I need a clean version of this, which makes sense, it's just that I don't really know where to start.

In the end, I decided to get a replacement tablet sent and return the old one as the vibrate function is broken on the original and I don't think that's acceptable on a two week old device.
However, your helpful advice on reinstalling firmware is something I will use if I get the same issue with the replacement.

you can debloat a phone without root but it just force disable the apps. i dont know if the debloat app would work on the LG V10 you can try if you are on MM or don't wanna root the 5.1.1
here is my video showing how to disable system update app useing this program
PLEASE NOTE. THIS VIDEO IS FOR LG G4 NON ROOTED USERS, I NEVER TRIED THIS ON MY V10. TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK OR ASK TO SEE IF IT WILL WORK
im sure it will work but i just don't know. the software link is in my video discription

I used your video to disable a bunch of stuff. I already had a lot of it disabled but you definitely had a bunch in there I hadn't turned off because I wasn't sure what they did. Unfortunately I'm still getting terrible battery life. I don't know whats wrong with this phone but since rooting and putting xposed on it i'm getting basically no battery life. And I don't even use a lot of apps :/ And I turned off sync, bluetooth, wifi, and location and it's still dying in no time. I might have to go through a full stock restore and try again and there goes another day :'[

Thanks. I ended up getting it sorted. I'm back to normal battery life now. Got 4hours and 15 minutes of SOT yesterday and today got about 3 hours of SOT, a couple hours of tethering, and about 10 hours off the charger before having to plug in
Tweakbox for the g4 works. I've havent tried all the features on it but everything i've tried has worked. I got rid of the battery icon and now use only the text, also made the battery percentage text smaller, moved the clock to the middle and added a lower case date, and added advanced reboot options among a couple other things and haven't had any issues. So far ever everything i've tried has worked and I haven't' had any soft bricks.

Everything I've tried has worked but I didn't go crazy with it so haven't tried too many things.
I moved the clock to the middle of the status bar and made the font bold and a bit smaller and also added a lower case date.
I got rid of the battery icon and kept the text with percentage symbol and made the text smaller.
I added advanced reboot options so now hot reboot and recovery also appear.
That's about it. I think there were a couple other things I did but can't remember right now. I'm actually having trouble with the app right now and don't know whats going on. I cleared it's cache and force closed it but every time i try to do something in the app it says "the app is still starting please wait". I haven't restarted my phone to see if that fixes it but right now i don't feel like messing with it anymore. I hate when my phone starts having stupid issues like that and it eats the time I could spend doing other things. If you don't get around to messing with it and I get it working i'll give you an update.

Go here for the files you need. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66015228&postcount=48 ignore his instructions though, there is an easier way.
Use this method for installing it, worked perfect for me. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66820408&postcount=58 just flash the xposed zip like you would a rom using flashfire.
After this you will have an issue with the second crashing during a phone call but that's easy to fix thanks to some handy guys here on xda. Just go here to get the files to fix the second screen. and then go here if you have issues with the apps optimizing after every reboot.
That's it. You're good to go after this. Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks. I can't get HD calling working so want to go back to full stock to see if I can get it working. I'm tired of not having data during phone calls.
Hey Guys so i have searched high and low for a solution and still can't figure out a fix. i've read on sony forums that other people experienced the same issue but can't find a fix. I got the phone second hand (risky i know but i took a gamble) and it already have android pie. At first it was working great and i was quite happy with the phone but as i started using it every now and then it would reset itself at random, even in my pocket, then it started freezing when i unlocked it and eventually reset and work again for a bit. from the start the volume up button was not working but i can deal with that. on other threads i have read that some people are having the exact same issue. Help is very much appreciated.
So far i've tried turning off fingerprint unlock, uninstalling apps, turning off auto brightness, turning off the code unlock, factory reset, flashing to android oreo, and running in safe mode and so far none of that has fixed the issue. (although it helped temporarily giving me false hope!)
i'm going to try flashing back to nougat as a last resort but am not going to have too much false hope. Thanks for reading and any help in advance!
@leemo89, Not to be rude, but you do realize that this is the XZ1 and not the premium forum...

@ leemo89, if you have tried a reset and new firmware , I would have it checked out as it sounds like you have a bad motherboard.. read the newflasher thread and try flashing with it .. it you still have an issue , let the repair shop check it out.
Thanks, I'll give that a go. I'm just hoping it's due to firmware as Ive read of the exact symptoms happening to others.

You won't find any as the XZ1 was one of the first phones released with Oreo ..
