RR ROM vs Aosp extended

Hi can anyone point me a difference between those two roms? I guess both are using official kernel from xiaomi now? Is one based on aosp and another one on lineage OS? Or they are the same but loaded with different features? Which might be better for girl daily use and good similar to stock ROM battery experience?
Thanks!

There are differences in terms of features.
Yep, both Roms based off kernel sources released by Xiaomi.
Yep, AOSP extended is AOSP base & RR is LineageOS base.
You'll notice, both were almost same & RR has few more features than AEX.
Battery is as same as Miui, 8hrs SOT guaranteed, doesn't matter whatever rom you're on.
Both Roms are official ones, choose which one to go.
So probably aosp extended would be better.
Now we have around 11h sot that is even better than my oneplus 3t. Just amazing.

best ROM for performance and smoothness

Hey everyone
I know it's not polite to compare ROMs
But can someone suggest me the best ROM for performance and smoothness?
I don't care about battery or features.
All I need is buttery smooth experience.
AOSP based: Paranoid Android and Omnirom, MIUI based the xiaomi.eu rom

I understand AOSP.
but can you explain what's meant by CAF?
CAF stands for the Code Aurora Forum. It's the place where Qualcomm releases source code for their phone processors. It's directly supported by Qualcomm and it's generally a more optimized branch for Snapdragon phones.
Now, there are two mainlines for Qualcomm chipsets. We have CAF, and we have AOSP.
CAF is what Qualcomm provides to all hardware vendors, as references and documentation on the chipset. Because of this, almost all non-Nexus devices are running HALs, kernels, etc from the CAF line.
AOSP is direct from Google. Google will take a fork from the CAF like, and add or retract features that they deem necessary, and then produce that for Nexus phones.
So, what this means is CAF ROMs will likely perform marginally better, but they are lacking features added by Google's AOSP line.
HalogenOS
CAF based.
not sure about the bugs. Last build is 24/06.
LineageOS is also AOSP + CAF based.
Paranoid Android is smoothest for me.

LOS merges CAF a lot slower than CAF dedicated ROMs (like HalogenOS)
LOS adds a lot more foreign code and hacks
If you want Pure CAF, Pure CAF speed, then a Non LOS CAF Rom is the way to go.

Correct me if wrong,
But I thought Lineage was the continuation of CM ROMs,an independent entity from AOSP Or CAF.
Paranoid android, period.

Yes, but they still use some CAF based code in.

Wow, how about Paranoid Android and Slim ROM?
Which is better? I haven't tried Paranoid Android, but I guess Slim ROM is worth a try. I've been using Slim ROM for a month now. But if Paranoid Android gives more buttery smooth experience, with stability and performance, guess I will try it?
I'm running paranoid android and halogen OS side by side with velvet kernel (governor - blu_active, IO - maple) and both of them are running mighty smooth. Animations are off except for transition set at .75x-1x.
Though I recommended paranoid android earlier, in this setup halogen seems to be ahead. It seems more to do with the kernel settings than anything else.
Edit: battery consumption seems a tad faster in PA.

I find that the AOSP rom are mo buggy for me.
I like the future for lineage to change color profile.
I miss this in all other rom.
Halogen rom was my first rom that i try.
Its extremly fast but lack of a loot of futures.
So far i try ACIP - little laggy
AOSP Extended - buggy for me (keyboard, viber bug).
Legend - normal performance good battery life.
Halogen - really fast and stable rom no futures.
And now o dont know what to doo.
Im really like the lineage color temp profile.
I like the Android Paranoid but no colof profile.
Dont know what to do.

Nougat vs Oreo ROMs. Which one do you prefer?

Given so many options to choose from, Oreo based Custom ROMs is growing up so fast. Is there anyone still prefer Nougat? How many of you has changed your mind and moved to Oreo? And why?
I am now still on Nougat based Custom ROMs.
Still don't know if I need to move to Oreo, because I already feel comfy with Nougat. And how's with the performance (especially gaming) in Oreo based ROMs?
Feel free to share your thoughts, I want to know more.
Thank you.
Nougat as of now , Oreo is not MATURE in the android world now. Wait few months

Thanks for your answer, I do feel the same way. But lately it seems that few Oreo ROMs got a good touch up, but I don't know if its compared to Nougat.
nougat feels laggy compared to better optimised Oreo, ive used both extensively
I've used (for me) the smoothest nougat rom which is paranoid android and it smooth af. But after taking the jump to oreo specifically to cardinal rom I've noticed it is a lot smoother, lag free and overall a better experience for me.
was on Nougat ROMs till couple days back, currently on Pixel Experience, and I must say Oreo is the future, so fast so smooth and it loads faster than ever

Ah! I am currently on Nougat with the same ROM, and still using Paranoid Android Nougat here. I agree that its already smooth af even with its default kernel. But if you tell me that Oreo ROMs that you mentioned above, I think it's worth to try. What do you think with other Oreo ROMs other than Cardinal? Like Pixel Experience, etc?

I've heard that pixel experience is equally smooth as cardinal and those two were my choices when I made the jump. But I choose cardinal because it has more useful customization than pixel without bloating it with useless customization.(???) Sorry for my bad english. Lol

Oreo roms still lack that super stability which nougat offers, but being able to brag in front of my friends that i am running the latest and greatest android from google, really pushes me to remain at oreo. Jokes aside i really like the little features which oreo has, especially in-built autofill. I really find that super useful.

What do you mean bloating it with useless customization? Because I'd like to choose one that using very minimal customizations, I believe that a simple and minimal customizations make a good performance (at least for my gaming experience). CMIIW.

Lol, tbh personally I don't care what others think when you got the newest android version. All I care is my phone, with light customizations and super performance but thanks for your answer man, at least I got a view with Oreo users like you.

If you want minimal customisations, go with aoscp or pixel experience. (But if you want super pure stock android, then elixir os is for you). If you ask me then button remapping is all what i need. Even though aoscp and pixel dont have that, still i had used aoscp for 2 months because it is super smooth. The only addons i install are product sans font and ambient display gesture. Right now i am trying out liquid remix but i would take side with aoscp on terms of feel.

Well some roms like resurrection remix is feature packed with customization which is good but I feel that it took a hit in performance and battery becaise when I moved to Paranoid android which is very minimal I've got a smoother experience. Well cardinal and pixel is very minimal and I think it will suit you well.

You too, thanks for sharing. Yeah I don't want any customizations that took a hit in performance. All I want is very simple minimal and smoother experience, to get the most out of this device thank you!
Oreo roms are too laggy. They work fine for few hours after flash and then they become completely unusable.
I can use nougat Roms in dualboot patcher and also multirom but unable to boot Oreo ROMs. So I prefer nougat Roms until DBP upgraded to oreo or newer multirom developed.

Pie Rom: Pixel Experience Vs AOSP Extended?

Hi everyone, after upgrading my redmi 5 plus to MIUI 10 and still disappointed about how notifications are handled, I am ready to make the big jump to pie custom roms(yes this is my first xiaomi device and attempt to flash a custom rom). I have narrowed my choice to Pixel Experience Pie vs AOSP Extended V6, which would you recommend to be as stable as MIUI? I am leaning towards Pixel Experience Pie but I am intrigued by how popular AOSP Extended V6 has become. I am also open to any other pie custom rom option that I am not aware of. I am NOT a customisations buff, I just want stability and best battery performance . Looking forward to any your suggestions, thanks
I would recommend PE-Extended as i am using it from day one and its amazing and stable rom with nice battery life.
P.S i only tried first two builds of AOSP Extended so i wouldn't know.

Oh. I meant nevermind as I had wrongly posted in this thread.
Anyway crDroid offers a ton of customization and yet is very stable. Currently on Q builds (6.4). I have used crDroid for the past 7 months without any notable issue. No random reboots, system hanging or app freezing/crashes. Performance is very good and battery backup is excellent.

At present pretty much any rom based on Android 10 is stable.
Reloaded OS - performance and battery backup is great as it is a CAF rom. It has minimal but useful customization.
Pixel Experience - There are two variants. One is normal (just stock pixel phone) and the other is plus edition which offers some useful customization. Built-in kernel is okay-ish so better flash another kernel.
Pixel Rom - Authentic Pixel Port. Change kernel for better performance.
Arrow OS
Roms with customization overhaul - Evolution X, Crdroid, Aosip Derpfest, Corvus, Havoc OS and many others.
always prefer try every rom but here's some suggesstion for you
pixel experience because it is very stable and no bloatware also lineage os but for now the android 10 version is not that stable so choose your drug.
Ancient os

Fewer customisations don't necessarily mean better experience on other aspects.
This being said, PIXEL EXPERIENCE has the fewest customisations of all. It's stable too.
