As in title. If you look straight forward at the screen, left edge seems to have slight pink/red hue. Is it only me?

Gesendet von meinem VOG-L29 mit Tapatalk
FYI, that's normal with a curved screen. Because of the angle you look at the screen the glass refracts the light. Different colours refract different amounts - as such the left will look red and the right will look blue. The easy way to test is to turn the phone upside down - red will still be on the left and blue on the right.
Simple physics

Actually no, I did this trick with upside down. If you look at it upside down, red will be on the RIGHT side

Mine behaves as expected. minuscule red tint on the left, ever so slight blue on the right. Flip it over and red remains on the left.
If it still persists then I'd suggest a fault with the panel
I went to the store and compared my device with bad screen vs good device. The problem is when I look at my screen at white image from the RIGHT side white color turns to pink/red one.
When I look at the good one device from the RIGHT side white remains white.
Are your display remain white or become red when you observe it from the right side?
I have it too but not redish, the right side is slightly blueish!!!
****ing dealer "can't see it" so no exchange!
Typical OLED defects. They will never have true white like IPS screens. Also have typical low frequency PWM for added eye fatigue. People still love buying them though.
I can second this, it's normal. Samsung's have it as well. It's kind of like clouding/morphing on an edge lit LED screen - some don't accept it. It depends on how much it bugs you.
My p30 pro has it, noticed it immediately on first startup, you start noticing it less and less over time.
My s10 and s10+ have similar but it's a light blueish vs red that I have on my p30p.
For me, it is most noticable in highest screen brightness on white backgrounds... However, once seen, it cannot be unseen even with lower brightness than max..
I have Note 9 and P30 Proband both of them have the same some color tint on the edge depending what angle you are looking. Its perfectly normal for led curved panels.
Did a display check and theres nothing wrong about it.
As long as it doesn't go bloody dragon like the hulk mate 20 pro issue I'm good.

It's only noticeable on black or really dark backgrounds but does everyone else's home button bleed a bit of light into the screen or just mine? I'll see if I can snap a pic tomorrow.
Yupp... Once an led brightness mod is created it should be better.
Yeah noticed this from day one. Mine is not just on the really dark screens either but I think every phone I've ever had has had something like this in one way or another....no biggie.

I noticed earlier today that I have this as well in pretty much the same exact spot. It starts from the home key and goes on towards about an inch or so, inward toward the screen.
Do you guys know if this justifies an exchange from BestBuy? I'm just concerned that it may get worse because that's how these things tend to play out over time.

Mine was ordered via TeleSales. Should I call them and report this for a replacement, or take to a store and get a replacement there? Will the store replace it if I got it online?
If you have light bleed issues, you should get a replacement. Mine is perfect - zero light bleed. First HTC device I've owned that didn't have at least a little.

you can also download an app from the market that test your screen for dead pixels and it helps find light-bleed as well. I believe it's called Screen test, just type that in the play store and you'll find it.

You have 30 days to do whatever you want with it.
I had light bleed on my first EVO LTE. The light bleed is most apparent when the button lights are on, the screen backlight is at its dimmest setting, and the screen is black. A great way to test is to install the flash-the-brain.com FlashLight app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.android.flashLight) and swipe down to set it to the dimmest setting. A picture of my first phone and the replacement are below (this was a long exposure in a completely dark room, so it didn't look quite so bad in real life):
I have it also, i didn't always notice it but definitely there at times... must be when the lights are on the buttons like ahecht pointed out

I don't have mine yet but I went with the blue simply because I hate all white devices.
White
1) The colors are uneven on the blurple model
2) No visible fingerprints anywhere on the device
3) The themes will contrast the bezel better
3) No purple button
4) I plan on making my phone black/white, stormtrooper style

It's a fantastic phone nonetheless, just for me I would much rather have the whole phone the same color shade shade. In the end this will bother us for maybe a week or so before we focus on the more important aspects of the phone (case, roms, updates).

I'm sure it is, but the more I hear people talking about the "purple" home button and the more pics I see where you can clearly tell it's a different shade, the better the white one looks....plus I can go with whatever crazy color I want for the case and it'll match fine. I like that much better.

i have white, but every time i look at pictures of the blue from forums (where it really looks blue and not grey)i wish i had gotten the blue )=
also the bright ass capacitive buttons that bleed light and won't dim with the screen really bother me. can't wait till cm9 when i can set the light value threshold.
Has anyone noticed that the bottom edge of your DNA has a slight 1-2mm shadowy area where the backlight is dim as well as random areas along the sides (this is not the capacitive light bleed which most units all have, which I don't consider a big deal)? I've had numerous replacements and all have exhibited these issues including a few Verizon store units. I find it surprising that this hasn't been reported upon in any reviews. It's fairly annoying on white and light colors, the majority of what I use the phone for (side-by-side with my 4s, the 4s has even lighting to the edges). I also checked out the HTC One in an AT&T store and couldn't see these issues, so it looks DNA rather than HTC specific.
It's a bit hard to make out from pictures, but it is visible.

Yeah, man; it's a curse. I'm one of those who notices the digitizer when the display is on as well.
Because of those lights, I think the top 1/8 of the screen is a bit brighter than the rest as well, especial if you're viewing in landscape. If you do the same on the bottom, you see nothing, like they didn't put any LEDs there. The inconsistency I've noticed along the sides isn't the exact same between any two phones (I've had a number of replacements mostly due to other issues). I bothers me pretty much any time I use the browser, maps app, texting, or anything like that, but I think i'm slowly getting used to it. From what I can tell of hands on time with the HTC One, it looks like they've mostly avoided this in that model, if not because of a larger bezel to hide the diffuser/LEDs in.
Here's a picture of the stuck green pixel on my Honor 7. It is very bright when the display is just turned on, and dims a bit when it heats up which I find kind of strange. Very distracting watching movies as its constantly visible.

I haven't as I read that its a waste of time and some people reported more stuck pixels afterwards. It's definitely stuck, as it would be black if dead.

I cant really see how it could cause more stuck pixels, when all it does is cycle through using them and changing colours etc. But for one stuck pixel i doubt you would get it replaced, manufacturers tend to 'need' to see a set amount of pixels in a set space before they fix them.

I noticed after using the phone for about 20mins that the stuck pixel disappears. Then when I let it standby for a while, it returns. I guess the heat generated temporarily fixes it?
Checked my other phones for stuck pixels, turns out some have them but this one on the Honor 7 seems much brighter and then dims with use until it eventually vanishes, while the others are always a duller green colour that doesn't change. Tried running the 'pixel repair' on one of the other phones for a few hours and it did nothing at all.
Not all stuck pixels are created equal. Here is closeup of the Honor 7 stuck pixel, as you can tell from its size, the whole pixel is affected.
Here is stuck pixel on Acer Iconia Tab 10.1" 1920x1080 . It appears to only affect about 1/6th of the pixel so is much less noticeable than the one on the Honor 7.
And it can still show other colors
Ok, so Honor have agreed to take the phone back and send me a replacement.
But I was hoping if other people here with the Honor 7 could check for stuck pixels, to see how common it is. I don't want to return it and get another with a stuck pixel, or maybe even worse.
Can you check with black background on high brightness, if there is any stuck pixels. It should be easily noticecable from normal viewing distance. Phone must be standby a while, it shrinks after the display is turned on for around 30mins.
i have just noticed a stuck pixel on my honor 7 that is only about 5-6weeks old
How did you fix this problem?
I have green dots on dark/black background. Phone is 2 months old. Never been exposed to direct sunlight or high temperature , any physical pressure or moisture. Some day ago just showed up green dots.

have never seen it on any other smartphones.
UPDATE:
Official service center gave me the brand new Honor 7. They said that dead pixells are problem and must replace front panel but they decided to give me new device.
I get bright color shade on both left and right side of the screen, its always a tad brighter color which is currently being displayed on the screen, you can't notice it in a normal use but if you directly look at it you can see. Are you guys facing this?
Hello all,
Last night I watched a show on my tablet in total darkness and noticed some weird banding which I thought was caused by the video itself but then I checked with the other apps and it was clear that it wasn't the video but the screen itself. Is my tab screen faulty? It's just over 3 weeks old for God's sake! Is anyone else experiencing the same issue or am I the only one?

Hey guys. Just an update. It's a bit of a long story but the tl;dr version is that I have got a new Tab S6 today and guess what? The same screen-bleed issue but on a different part of the screen.

I phoned the Samsung shop team and they were extremely helpful and arranged a replacement. However, I am very disappointed with the quality control. Does anyone know how I can raise this with Samsung so that something would be done at a higher level i.e. maybe there is a faulty batch or something?
Is that right from a factory reset without installing or restoring any apps? I have to wonder at this point if it's some software, These are amoled screens, there shouldn't be any bleed, there's no backlight. While some pixels can definitely fail what you're seeing on 2 tablets seems highly unlikely not random across the screen. Only other thing I can think of is you have something putting undue pressure on parts of the screen.

No. The pictures above are of the replacement tablet. I hadn't had the chance to transfer my settings or anything so it's factory formatted. All I did was turn on night mode at night and start the dialer app as well as other Samsung apps. Even the keyboard is brighter on one side than the other. I asked the other half to look and point out anything odd and she spotted it straightaway.
The tablet was literally out of the box. Barely stayed out of the box for an hour and there was nothing else pressed against it at all.

It's not bleed it's just uneven tints on the screen, very common and annoying as heck.
wow I've never seen anything like that on an oled or amoled screen. I have the S2,S3, S4, note 8, note 10+ and LG Oled and never seen anything even close.
What you have with the white, doesn't surprise me as much as the black as with black the pixels should be OFF.
The mate 20 pro was plagued with green screens like that. I believe they were lg oleds

By the way it's not pure black backgrounds, more dark greys, mine is similar and I believe they will all have it to some degree, seems to be a short coming with oled..it's only noticeable when displaying certain types of greys, at very low brightness, even worse with blue light filter on
Somewhat similar to what I'm experiencing, uneven black levels from corner to corner.
I'll try and get a replacement from the retailer, they give 30 days to return items so it shouldn't be an issue hopefully.
It's not awful, but once you notice it, you always notice it.
I have also the same, verry annoying. And for that price i espect something that works.
