My flash seems to have a bug.
For pictures taken with flash in 1x zoom, a small black circle always appears in the lower right corner.
I have already noticed that it was not only my P30 Pro. I have read more reports about this problem. Does your Huawei P30 Pro also have this problem?
Note: The wall is totally white and not stained. I tested it on several walls.

Everyone knows the 'pink spot' of android cameras ( seems like android's patent ).
But annoying thing is the pink/purple 'dust'/'dirt'/'ghosts'/... shapes that showing clearly at white/bright background with and without flash. mostly at the top or around the picture.
Here is a good sample (found via google) : http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonblack901/5969646528/
at the top middle of the photo you can notice a pink dirt, also at some other places of the photo, custom pink shapes.
You can see it sometimes at sky's photos if you look closer.
I found its happen at every smartphone (include iphone), could happen also when you take a picture of object with dark background with flash (the area of background have these pink shapes).
At some devices that I've checked seems like there are square shapes in different sizes, at some its looks like a random shapes...
Why is it happens? because the camera module? the lens glass? or its just a problem with firmware (even though its happens with every firmware) or a software problem?
Seems pretty weird...
You can see that effect on all kinds of cameras.. just google, this effect happens to stand alone cams too,

There is any reason to this effect? just curios why is it happens...
At each camera it looks different.
BTW, to experience - should you put a piece of screen protector on the lens glass ?
Will it decrease the quality of the photo?
So, i got my self Mate 10 Pro week ago, and i've noticed it has some display issues with uniformity.
I've found out this by accident, during reading before sleep i have it at lowest brightness possible, so it doesn't tire my eyes.
Anyway when is it set at lowest brightness (with darker colors present) there seems to be that left side of display is darker than right one.
I took some pictures so you can better see what i mean.
Am i alone in this, or is it widespread with other Mates?
Is this a reason to file up warranty case, or Huawei can get away with it because that seems to be nature of (AM)OLED displays?
It is "itching" me now... To pay like 800 euros for flagship device, only to find out that it has issues.
Can any from you take some pictures of your device and post it?
It has to be done in dark room with lowest brightness.
Hello,
for the pictures with the light in the middle:
What app is this?
I'd be happy trying to reproduce this.
It is OLED Tools app from play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oledtools&hl=en
Take the last test called Uniformity Test.
When you are there swipe left to lower the brightness.
Also you can choose the color, for my unit problem was best visible with grey and green.
Let me know with results!
My M10 Pro screen looks perfect.
And mine mate 10 pro screen looks all right testing with this app
So it is my unit after all.
Looks like i'll need to send it for a repair.
I have the same. did you return to the website? did they do something?
Just sent it today to the official Huawei Service Centre (here in my country). Now i need to wait a few days for them to receive it, and see what they say.
BTW, you have the same thing, left side darker than right one? Or different?
in my case it is darker in the left corner.
any new news?
What brightness are your pictures? in this app i have left 0 (all black) and right 31 (bright)
When around 8 my bottom screen loocks darker... but i never noticed it during normal usage so i do not care
btw: i can recreate it in chrome too so its not just the app
I think this is normal oled behaviour... I never use it on min brightness anyway/wouldnt have noticed wihtout you pointing it out
Since there seem to be multiple people here with this problem i think its normal oled... just google it

exactly...OLED simply works like that... i had similar "issue" with sgs7 phone only in low brightnes..OLED cannot compare with LCD when it comes to flickering or pulsing this is the way they work and we should accept it.
Well, I'm still waiting for device, since the official Huawei repair shop considered/recognized it as display issue. Probably they are waiting for parts (display) so it can be replaced.
EDIT:
Brightness was around 7 in the app. That way the problem was most visible.
I got my phone back today. In service report it states that they changed display along with back side glass (i assume because of waterproof properties of the phone).
Anyhow, with the new display, phone have the same problem, so i guess it isn't the problem per se, its just nature of OLED...
[/COLOR]I'm experiencing the same problem on my 3rd device now. That's right! Third! I've returned my phone 2 times, and gotten a replacement each time. The problem still persists...
Still struggling with the seller and Huawei to get it fixed, but it's looking grim.
I have the same problem. Typical for oled. All Note 4 and galaxy s7 had same problem...
Send it back and get a new one from Amazon. I saw this problem with the camera in white or clears walls. It seems "banding".
Send it back another time, this new unit is worse that last.

Hi! Do you have the problem now and don't exchange it?
I had in january the Mate 10 Pro and sold it, because I had the same display problem.
Then I bought in April the P20 Pro. This device had the problem, too!
1 week ago I got the Mate 10 Pro for a very good price, but this device have the problem again!
I think, it's a normal behaviour of HUAWEI OLED Screen.
You can exchange and exchange it, and the problem will come again.
Same here. Left side is darker at low brightness.
Thinking about trading it in for a normal Mate 10. That one has an IPS display. I really have no use for dual SIM, so I couldn't care less about losing that.
HUAWEI is using LG's OLED panels, so issues are very common. They're not very good compared to Samsung's new panels, but also way cheaper.
I recently bought pre-owned Mate 20 Pro UK version with BOE display.
There are quite alot watermarks on every screen that comes across and visible only in white background. Pictures attached (couldn't get better quality pics).
These 3 watermarks are spread over top, middle and lower side of the screen. After looking closely i could read "Huawei Mate20 Pro" written on top of the screen along with few other marks as well. Couldn't get the visible enough picture of the middle area hence not showing here. On the lower side of the screen, there seems to be 3 marks those resembles the camera snap button, Gallery Open button and Front Camera button.
Do anyone know about this strange phenomenon? Is it only me or anyone else has got something similar?
I was on EMUI 9.1 before updating to EMUI 10 few days back. It was the same case with EMUI 9 as well.

There are some apps that repeatedly can cycle various colors to cause wear on the other pixels in attempt to make screen more even.
Use these with caution.
Other than that, no. A screen replacement is the only solution. Screen burn in is the result of pixel wear.

Thanks for the response.
I think i'll have to live with it. Its not creating any problem though.
So I did a screen test using Four fingers multi-touch. The first one is my old Op3T showing all four traces clearly. The second is my Poco showing first two fingers (to touch screen) clearly and other two are faint lines.
Both phones running same android 10 ROM setup and latest firmware. Tried different ROMs on Poco, same issue. Any ideas?
Yep
Happened with me too
Compared it with OnePlus 7T though
Btw Am having Nvt panel on my poco
I'm having no such issues on my Poco.
I've seen a lot of threads regarding Poco display. From day one to now I haven't faced any issues with poco like low sound, poor network, light bleed etc.
However I do have one issue that is image retention. If I am on a website with static fixed colors and I open an app with white screen, the previous page can be seen. But this is only temporary and goes away after 15 seconds.

That's great, are you on stock or custom Rom, what's your setup?
Image retention-perhaps live display needs some tweaking.

NVT here too.
I don't have ghost touch or serious issues. But the general touch experience is not as good as even an old phone like Oneplus3T.
Disable three finger screen shot and your ghost touch fix
I try on stock rom and its working

I'm on CR custom rom, but actually all my gestures are disabled. The issue isn't ghost touch, i dont have it. For daily use it's fine.
It's just the quality of touch screen as seen on the screen test in OP is sub par.

Fully Stock MIUI 11 (Android 10)
Since its LCD there's no option (nor needed) to have Live Display or Ambient Display. The image retention began about two months ago. It is not consistent. Sometimes the image retains for about 5 seconds, sometimes there's no retention at all. Since this is LCD I don't need to worry about burn in. And even if burn in is possible on LCD I frequently move the UI in different places.
I have a 2013 Moto X as well as a Moto G
I have compared the panels from those phones with my Poco and I see no problems at all. All touches are fine and there is no ghost clicks.
Almsket every day there is a new post about display issues... I guess I'm just lucky to be in the few who don't have any problems.
Is enyone knows, how to fix camera issues, when I take photo whit led flash, I got blue photo blur. lest night I first time use camera whit led flash, and I figured I have that problem.. enyone knows how to fix it?
Not saying this is related but on an old Xperia phone I had this issue due to the phone case, try removing case and see if it is affected, a darker case may resolve issues, it did for me when using Xperia Z3
try remove everything cover your flash led. I got this issue when i use camera protected tempered glass, then i change to glass with 1 hole for led flash.
