Hey,I noticed screen bleeding on my phone and got a replacement but the replacement too has that issue
Will that issue gets rectified if take the phone to service centre and change the display??
I think you are unlucky only, My stock display and my currently replaced display does not have screen bleeding..! Try another service centre may be a display batch issue,
Yes. Because the issue is hardware related. Replacing the faulty screen will fix it.

No. It doesn't void anything.
Are you referring to backlight bleed or IPS glow? Or something different?

As u can see in the highlighted region in the image, their is slight screen bleeding
And at 1/4th of the bottom screen is slightly brighter than the upper part of screen
do you wanna run something like https://www.lightbleedtest.com/# to give you a black screen so we can see this properly? Looks like a combination of backlight uniformity and bleed but I am unsure of what colour the background is supposed to be from what you have supplied currently.

So I noticed a dead/faulty pixel on my sony Erricsson Xperia mini pro sk17a night. On the most bottom, right part of the screen of you look at it portrait. This pixel flashes whenever I scroll down webpages nut flickers often even on the home screen. Either that or its really dim. It's just one pix I think.
So is anyone else getting this or just me?
Also, to fix this I go to my phone service provider to get it fixed right? Since its Rogers and it said they will fix it for free or something. I have not rooted or done anything to void the warranty.
Exactly the same problem.
I have exactly the same problem on SonyEricsson sk17a . Did they fixed it ?
There's a screen test on service menu: dial *#*#SERVICE#*#*, go to Service tests and test Display. It will go to a color every time you touch the screen, press back to exit. There you can see if its a pixel problem and wich color the pixel is stuck in (or dead).
Then you can take it to SE for repair (warranty of course).

Yes I would do the same.
10x.I'l give it a try.
I also contacted with SE's support. Just waiting for there reply ( to be honest it looks like a software issue ) . When there is static image on the display , it is OK.
Hello guys,
So what happened finally with that issue? Was it software problem finally? I have the xperia Mini ST15i and there is a dark pixel on the very left of the screen and it's only visible when there is motion, but not in static images of any color!
Please tell me what happened with your case.
Thanks!

Make a test in service menu as said some posts above.
If pixel is indeed buggy, take your phone to shop, should fall under warranty.
Its the screen's issue. If im not mistaken companies keep the 5 dead pixel policy. Not subpixel, but pixel.
If a subpixel is faulty (i think) you cannot see one of the three RGB subpixels, If the whole pixel is faulty you get a white dot where the pixel should be. So from what i understand you have a faulty subpixel, therefore the company itself wont hold it under warranty but your Service Provider might.
Pixel problem .
From the support center here in bulgariq , they told me , that they will forward this issue to SE .
No response till now . My problem was ( and still is ) identical . Pixel is OK on all the colors, except when there is moving image ( than it is not , white , gray or some other color .Than the pixell i just black (dead) )

I think I have the same issue, my pixel is ok in all colors, but when there is moving image (for example scrolling in browser) even in white color, there is a dark dot flashing.. when the scrolling stops the dot dissapears too!
Is it the same as yours?
dead pixel
Exactly the same behavior.
Same here... A pixel in the bottom of the screen, it works good, but when I scroll, the pixel turns black :S should I send it for the warranty?

Dead pixel issue
Try to send it . I wil contact them again and will try to point the problem more precisely. It is strange. It is not dead subpixel because it shows all the collors correct. I think the display controller is not OK. not the display itself.
so do you think that is the display driver? Or perhaps the build 0.62? Do you think that's good idea to return to a previous build? Is it possible to fix the issue?
I mean it could be graphics driver software issue as well.

I mean its not the screen for sure because this flickering pixel is only obvious in scolling for example.. also its located on the very bottom of the screen. its close to the XPERIA logo and light on the right. if the refresh rate is high it flickers fast so its difficult to see it.. when its static image there it dissapears..
Ofcourse it is an issue of the screen... You have a faulty subpixel. Maybe on non scrolling occurences the color is stabilized with the remaining 2 . This isnt windows/linux/mac, you dont upgrade drivers as you would on a computer. And no its not your GPU. If it were the gpu it youd be going haywire in random parts of the screen not just a specific 1x1 pixel area
Sent from my ST17i using XDA
To be honest I don't know if its a subpixel thing.. For example when Safari is loading, even on a white page, this pixel is flickering. When it stops loading the page, the pixel dissapears..
Have the same issue with my Xperia Mini ST15, I have a stuck pixel in the middle of screen (yes... that sucks) but it's only visible when the screen is showing a black color, its a shine pixel.
Can higher temperature ( about 70 degrees) makes damage to LCD? I exposed LCD to that temperature and now the starting logo turned into GREEN color and LCD has more green colour too (,instead of default white color). Another LCD works correctly.
I think the command that the starting logo should be white is programmed in LCD but is there any program( flash program) that can change that properties?
Thanks
It's possible you won't get many people bothering to read your thread due to the very poor title, go back and put more specific information.
Electronics hate temperatures over 50 degrees, so yes, I'd suspect you've damaged the screen. Also, these phones do not have LCD screens, they are OLED.

Why do you keep saying LCD? Do you mean the screen of your s3 is green-ish, or only when the boot logo appears?

The screen is green-ISH. The boot logo is green.
Isn't there any way how to repair it e.g.using a flash method?

what do you mean with LCD? If you mean with LCD the display itself, firstly as said the S3 does not have a LCD display, second how do you want to repair a hardware part with software flash?
if you are not talking about the display but only about the boot logo, try to flash the standard one, you can find flashable boot animations in the Themes & Apps section of they should be included when you flash a stock rom anyway (?).

One its not LCD.
Two its not programed in the LCD .
Three the screen or hardware is damaged you cannot flash repair it needs replacing .
Take to a service centre for repair .

hello, i broke my screen lately and i replaced it at a lab, after the repair my screen is sometimes flickering.
i think it was flickering from before the repair but after the repair it got worst,i am not sure.(if it was it was only at the top of the screen now..its every where)
does anyone have any ideas about the source of the problem ?
or if anyone know how to solve it even better
thank you for your help...
If still problem exist after screen replacement then I think there is problem in new screen, try again another screen if still it exist then may be there is serious problem with GRAPHIC IC ( I am not sure about this), You may have to change 220 in your Graphic IC which include soldering but seriously this is very(x3) risky, because any wrong thing can put your phone in nothing.
In case If you brought your screen from online site, then contact to seller and ask them for refund or another screen
Best of luck

first of all thank you for your reply,
as i said i replaced my screen at a cellphone lab so you think i should go there again and ask them to replace the screen?
as i also said its not happening all the time... it can be flickering for 15 min and then nothing for another hour ( on & off)
no way its just a loose cable/connector some where?

you might be talking about the screen itself. Its not a issue. Its the screen it self. nothing to worry about as its with every sony phones. I had a Xperia Mini Pro and the glitterish screen was there. its more visible if you lock the screen and turn the display on a light source like the sun

Dude make only 1 thread for your problems. No need for 2.
It's image retention. I have it too but it's not a big deal. It's not permanent.
As for GPS, try rebooting your phone, or if you use a case, try without it, maybe the case is blocking the compass.

You can fix it unless you go get this fixed. if you're still in warranty, try to get it replaced.
Does backlight bleed really annoy you??? it's only visible in the dark at high brightness...

:laugh::laugh: you can try it. image retention can be solved with a blue light filter, light bleeding can only be fixed by replacing the screen. Both are common issues though with IPS LCD screens. (Notebook has it, tablet has it and phone as well)
The only thing I would really be bothered with is GPS. This made me send my G5 to LG and hopefully getting it fixed now.

Yes , BLF does solve omage retention. With that in mind, if you are rooted, use CF.Lumen, it works much better.

I had it pretty bad especially with Google maps. The only thing I can really recommend is using cf lumen and there use a color temperature of 6200k in root mode.

You can even make the temperature back to 6600k and just change the shade to 0.102, this would solve the image retention permanently, i never had any image retention ever since.
I don't have image retention neither using blue light filter.

I've noticed that since the update to Nougat, sometimes CF.Lumen doesn't work and I need to run the app manually. Have you experienced it?
With blue screen filter from sisco mobile I still get image retention at software buttons.
I have it at 15% black color.
At the top image retention disappeared but a matter bottom no..
