HELP. Just bricked my Find X - Oppo Find X Questions & Answers

Hi all.
So I was playing about now that I have the bootloader unlocked and twrp installed.
I tried to flash magisk manager via the zip file from XDA.
Now my phone won't turn off.
on the screen it says this after a big red triangle icon
"The current image(boot/recovery)have been destroyed and can not boot.
Please flash the correct image or contact customer service"
I got it from china so forget about customer service.
I can not find away to turn the phone
I have tried to flash twrp via the pc. But the PC does not see it.
Can anyone think of anything to try?
Thanks in advance

Update.
I held volume up and on button at the same time. And the phone turned off.
Then I held the volume down key and press start button.
I got to the bootloader option.
I flashed twrp again. That went ok.
But if I try to get in to recovery mode. It goes back to the same screen as I had.

Is it possible to side load an original rom(ozip)
I will try anything now
I have a backup made by Titanium Backup on my PC.
But I can't find away to side load it?

I just tried adb sideload update.ozip and it won't work.
There must be a way?

It goes in to fast boot mode.
But when I pick go to recovery from the menu.
It goes back the screen with the warning
""The current image(boot/recovery)have been destroyed and can not boot.
Please flash the correct image or contact customer service"
I have re-flashed twrp. But still the same.

there is no program to unbrick the phone
search the original recovery and flash it
then try to update from recovery

Once you have twrp installed flash super su.
Then once your phone is booted up. Install the APK.

How do I revert to stock rom? -zenfone 2

I've tried to find a satisfactory answer via search and stickies, but I couldn't.
As far as I can see I just need to install a stock asus rom, without any unrooting or anything?
I'm not taking about OTA, I want my phone to be as it was bought.
Currently I'm rooted with twrp recovery.
Zenfone 2 551ML model.
Thanks alot!

You need to flash stock recovery and then flash the stock firmware from the stock recovery ADB.
Stock recovery is a must to flash the stock rom from adb

I just flashed back to stock this morning, and one thing you definitely need is patience! There were a few steps where it seemed like the process had frozen, but I had to wait and it completed.
I was coming from TWRP 2.8.7.6, CM12.1 Unofficial. The steps that I did were:
Update Recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash fastboot droidboot.img
each command failed with:
FAILED (remote: Permission denied)
but that's ok, they really worked.
Rebooting into recovery gave the dead android with “error”, but manual method one got me into recovery
When you see a dead android bot with an error press and hold power button, then (while holding power button) quickly press Vol up and release and then release power button.
From recovery choose:
apply update from ADB
From PC: adb sideload UL-Z00A-WW-2.20.40.156-user.zip
It went fairly quickly to 52% and “Updating IFWI” but stuck there for 10 minutes before slowly resuming the % updates.
The whole process took ~20 minutes
From recovery
wipe data/factory reset
This also took a long time… ~ 20 minutes
The whole thing took about an hour, and there were two times that it really seemed stuck, but it was still silently working and finally started to update again and then completed.
Thank you! This should go stickie.

Flash stock rom from Cyanogenmod (Deepflex)

Hello guys, does any of you happen to know if there are specific steps to flash stock rom starting from Deepflex's cyanogen (including cyanogen recovery)? My computer and 2 others are not able to identify the phone when connected while being turned off. Flash tools does not start downloading even if I am holding the power up button. Is there a zip file for stock rom that I can try and flash directly from the recovery? Thanks for your help
You Are supposed to flash it with Cyanogen recovery or twrp..not with so flash tools
Yes, flash tools failed, so I was wondering whether there was another option

You can't, SPFT expects files in .img format, CyanogenMod ROM's use the new block based updating system which provides system.patch.dat, system.transfer.list and system.new.dat files, incompatible with SPFT.
You could try using the 'dd' command to dd TWRP straight to recovery partition, this does assume you are rooted and have root access in adb shell though.

[TWRP Recovery] TWRP Recovery for Elephone S8

Thanks to @ScrewTSW he found at http://www.htcmania.com a working TWRP Recovery from totmakina
found : http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?p=27398885
to reboot into recovery most elephones works with hold vol+ and power at the same time.
this method dont work for the S8 and i did not found a working method yet.
but its not a problem if you follow this:
for people with stock rom /unrooted
1. download all files and place them on your desktop
2. flash my modified boot.img (magisk root) with flashtools
3. flash TWRP recovery with flashtools
4. reboot the Phone and install magisk manager app (link https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/topjohnwu/magisk-manager/)
5. start magisk manager , it will tell you that your phone has root
6. go to playstore and download the app called reboot recovery ( its a very small app)
7. reboot to recovery.
8. done
9. Now you have twrp and you are able to flash zips or custom roms

You only need the boot.img if you are not rooted. Because if you flash twrp s8 how would you boot into it?
Hardkeys don't work. So you need to be rooted and download an advanced power menu from playstore like "reboot recovery" to boot into it

[GUIDE][ROOT][Moto G6 Plus] Magisk patched boot image OPWS27.113-45-4

/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, fires, rigged elections,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarms failed and you could not call in.
Please
* Ensure you have an advanced understanding of this device before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications or your own free will.
*/
Hi, here is patched boot image for Moto G6 Plus. Flash it to acquire root permissions on your device.
Please make sure you have June Firmware OPWS27.113-45-4
Please DO NOT flash on different device, this is only for MOTO G6 PLUS (Evert)
Instructions:
1. Unlock Bootloader
2. Download patched boot image patched_bootOPW27.113-45-4.img
3. Flash it with following command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot patched_boot.img
fastboot reboot
Old April boot image OPW27.113-45: patched_boot.img
Note: If you need to restore the STOCK boot kernel, you can get it from 2nd Post below. Thanks @manos78
Hi,
I confirm that this kernel works! So now you can root your device. :victory:
Thank you @jekyll86!
If you like to test it by hand (with unlocked bootloader), then "fastboot boot stock_boot-MotoG6+-OPW27.113-45.img" and when running Android, then Install lasted Magisk Manager and then update to BETA Channel. This will generate a new patched kernel boot image using your stock boot.
Regards.
Note: If you need to restore the STOCK boot kernel (for an OTA, for example), you can get it from my backup: https://www.sendspace.com/file/i2dxh4
Hi,
One advise: If you patched the kernel with Magisk or flashed this kernel, then you can't do wipe of data using the "restore function of Andoid". It will fail until you flash the stock kernel.
If you see an error, then reflash the stock kernel!
Save a copy!
Thanks, this works perfectly fine with the latest magisk manager (5.7.0) and i managed to get xposed to work as well as gravitybox. I can center my clock again and tweak notifications, navbar longpress and such.
Magisk's package installer did fail to flash xposed but with 3.1.5 xposedinstaller.apk it did work and it flashes and reboots just fine.
I'm working on testing substratum rooted now. I'm just YOLO'ing a AOSP compatible theme on it and i'll see what fails..
If I get into the mood i might even try to flash a 8.1.0 TREBLE version of LOS15.1 or RRO if i can get that TWRP to properly boot via fastboot.

Hi !
Well I took the boot.img from the Moto G6 firmware in this subforum. I used magisk manager to patch this .img from my phone. (Boot.img was > 20MB whereas patched_boot.img is ~ 12MB, sounds strange..)
When I boot on this .img with fastboot, I got a bootloop and it gets back to the original kernel. So I tried to flash it, and it is stuck at boot. The "Warning, bootloader unlocked" shows the "N/A" code, and then the M logo shows up and never moves even after 10 minutes.
The fact that patched_boot.img is significantly smaller than boot.img sounds strange to me. I must be missing something.. too bad. I wanted to provide a patched_boot.img for moto G6 (mine is XT1925 reteu) on this subforum, but since I'm not able to boot from it it is not ready yet

It seems an issue with magisk manager that doesn't patch your kernel correctly. Report this problem in magisk thread.

Hi,
Please take note of this:
- Moto G6 and Moto G6 are a very different hardware devices: different SoC, different ROM, and different kernel. So, you can't interchange kernels.
- This forum is, in fact, for "Moto G6 family", that's the Moto G6, Moto G6+ and Moto G6 play.
- This thread in the Title indicates [Moto G6 Plus] so this kernel is only for G6+, it doesn't work in your G6.
- Before flash a kernel it's a good idea to boot it for try it. If it fails... never flash it!
So, your only solution is reflash stock G6 kernel. You have a copy of it?
Yes, I only booted from the kernel with "fastboot boot" command, I didn't flashed it on my phone
Anyway thanks for your help, I will explain my issue on the magisk thread !
Have a nice day

Bootloader unlocking does not make your phone more vulnerable, but rooting it.
Normally, Android apps work in isolated environments and cannot gain access to other apps or the system. However, an app with root access rights can venture out of its isolated environment and take full control over the device. So if you install malicious app, with root access they can do more damages.
Root your phone only if you need to root it and you know what you are doing.

Code:
fastboot boot patched_boot.img
if the the device boot up, you can flash it, otherwise don't flash and wait for update

TWRP flash giving error of 6 so I replaced them manually to required place and it's running fine. Keep it up. [emoji3]
